The dawn had broken unceremoniously across the wide open plains dotted with occasional trees. Their multi-branched lower halves exposed to the elements as the leaves spread wide overhead reminiscent of an umbrella. The morning found the typical twitter of birds, in the distance one who with exceptional hearing night detect the occasional stamp of a hoof as larger game moved from patch of grass to another looking for the choicest bites. Very few in this area would look up, for that matter it did not seem all that typical for the wolves of Anikira to pay to much attention beyond eye level of their packs tallest member.
This played to the ivory and ebony wolf's advantage. Relaxing lazily among the branches of a tree, his view was unhindered in every direction. Impossible to be snuck up upon. Even in the morning. sunlight the depths of those emerald athletes that drifted silently over the landscape held a chill that would have rivaled the tundra itself.
Sazio had left his pack quite a while ago, even now their scent was long gone from his coat. It wasn't in him to remain in one place for very long. The need to get out, gather information, understand how this island operated and what threats could possibly come his way had overcome the tranquility that seemed to pass for his life here. How he missed the days when danger and intrigue made up nearly every aspect of his existence. And when a mission wasn't at paw, then training was the highest priority. Even now he trained daily, unwilling to allow his skills to grow lax and unuseful.
Quietly he contemplated the prey that occupied this land, it had been three days since his last meal which real soon he would have to break off from his objective and eat. Here there were loners aplenty, but no pack controlled this area, which made it much easier on him, since he didn't have to be to picky nor sneaky in order to conceal his claim form a pack angered by a stolen kill.
Again that gaze would drift across the plains seeking a potential meal.
