The water, it was not a stranger to him. In fact, he had made this swim multiple times in his young life. Paws kicked hard against the liquid that surrounded him, his large head held high and tail working as a way to steer himself through the waves. He could remember the first time he had made his way to the Vor'asa for the Agoge. He had been much smaller then, younger, too, and he remembered how hard it had been to keep himself going. He could have drowned that day, but somehow he and his brother had survived. They had become stronger because of it. Today, however, it was much simpler. Although the swim was long as it always had been, it was not nearly as excruciating and exhausting as it had been that day so long ago. The second time he had been carrying an enormous egg in his jaws and trying not to break it. Today, it was only him.
The waters crashed against him as he neared the shore, his blue eyes easily spotting the enormous cargo ship's carcass in the distance. But that was not his goal today. No, his goal was the Agoge. Not for himself, but for those that would already be here. Those that would be taking on the challenge for the first time like he had when he was younger. So much had changed since that time, and though he knew he would always be a warrior of Kairos, even the pack itself had changed since he had taken on the Agoge. Goliath and Datura had left, his mother had seemingly disappeared, along with his brother, and the whole life he had known had just about collapsed. But he still had Typhon. His friend had become like another brother to him, even though they held no blood relation between them - unlike many of the young wolves within Kairos. And there was also Fawn. The little female had made him second guess himself multiple times now, something that he had never thought would be possible.
Finally he reached dry land, and with more effort than he would have liked, he heaved his enormous form onto the sands. The water had been particularly cold today, but nothing that he could not handle. He sighed heavily, shaking the moisture from his fur a few times before sitting down and looking around. When he had first come here, he and his brother had climbed these rocks in search of Lilith. She had gotten to the Agoge before them, but even she was gone now. His young crush had disappeared and he was sure he would never see her again. But he had others, now. His life went on, even without his family. With another sigh, he glanced back behind him at the ocean and then pushed himself to his feet. Enough with the memories. No, it was now time to have some fun.
