It had been months since Freya had seen her. Her heart ached and felt like it had been ripped from her chest. She prayed endlessly and any time she received a vision from the God's she tried to find out her whereabouts but to no avail. Her mate was gone, but Freya was lost. She didn't know why she had left- there had been absolutely no forewarning to the occurance. She woke up one morning to her den being empty. At first she figured she had just gone out to hunt, but soon she realized that her mate was gone entirely. She had done circles around Othala's territory, following her scent as best as she could but her emotions got in the way. She screamed her name numerous times only to be answered by silence. Freya tried not to lose hope but it got harder with the more time that passed. Today however was another day and Freya was determined to track her final steps in Othala. Freya couldn't rest unless she knew for a fact what had happened. She needed to know that her mate was safe, even if she no longer wanted to stay in Othala with her. She rose early, the sun still not yet in the sky. Glancing around she made sure to make a quiet exit. No one else was really "aware" of her mate's absence and she didn't want to share the news with Kiva or Eidus. Of course her alphas had every right to know but the wound was still fresh. She wanted to try to pick up the pieces as best she could before confronting them about it.
Her heart raced in her chest, her nose to the ground as she attempted to follow her trail. The scent was stagnant but it was there. She knew how her mate smelled, what her body felt like against her own. This was something that was permanently burned into her brain. She could be blind and would still be able to follow her trail. She moved with precision, searching and ignoring the fact that she was climbing further and further up the mountainside. The last time she had been here was when the ground had shook and shifted beneath her paws. It was one of the most terrifying moments of her life and she could clearly remember the female she had saved. She was a stranger but Freya showed kindness to strangers. And of course she couldn't just let her die. She had pulled her away from the cliff side and hadn't been back here since. It was a strange area for her to be in and she tended to avoid it. She moved forward, her head up for the first time in a long time. It was then that a different scent hit her, one that she hardly knew at all. A'body thare? She called out, her accent thick and prominent as usual. She halted her movements, head held high and ears perked as she waited for them to show themselves.
