Requeim was thrown even more off guard when he felt Eudoxia's nose pressed against his own. When had she gotten so close? Wasn't she just sitting several feet away? The poor brute had been so lost in his mind that he had become completely oblivious to everything else around him. It was kind of sad really, the effect one ounce of sympathetic emotion had on him.
The warm, wet pressure of the femme's snout against his own sent a tingling sensation up his muzzle. For several long minutes he just sort of sat there. His stormy grey eye looked questioningly into her brown ones, his head refusing to break the contact. Requiem couldn't fathom the white fae's acts of kindness. It was as if he were the gawkly, awkward, nerdy high school boy standing in the presence of his long term crush who'd probably never speak to him. Of course, these current actions weren't about romance. They were more about finding a sense of being home.
After a while, the Arctic brute's instincts seemed to kick in. He wasn't quite sure what came over him; it seemed everything happend in a blur. Eudoxia was so kind and so willing to accept him. It was overwhelming, and the male just sort of lost it. It had been so long since Requiem felt any sort of comfort that he couldn't help himself. Breaking the initial contact, he pushed his head foreward and nuzzled it into her lean shoulder. Sticky tears quietly flowed from his tear ducts, meshing with their dusty white pelts. He said nothing, merely soaking up the warmth and comfort that could only be provided by another creature. Requiem had been on his own for so long, purposefully isolated from others, that one little tender expression had been enough to push him over the edge.
Compared to most brutes, the male's actions could have been considered downright strange. Brutes didn't cry, especially not in front of femmes. Then again, Requiem couldn't quite be considered normal to begin with. He wasn't sure how Eudoxia would react to his sudden change of character, but he prayed she wouldn't run. He needed this. He needed to feel comfort. He needed to feel safe in the presence of another. It was something neither of them had bargained for in their chance meeting, but now that that can of worms had been unleashed there was no turning back from him. In Eudoxia Requiem had found something he had been a stranger to for a very long time. He had found compassion.
OoC: Sorry this took so long. >.<
