The light in Imp’s eyes dimmed as the silent male declined his offer. A pout quickly surfaced on his face as if he was offended that he didn’t accept his servantry. Was Imp just not good enough to be his servant? Did the male think he was just so small and useless he wouldn’t be able to help him in anyway? Ears fell back again and his eyes lowered to the ground, not that he ever looked anyone in the eye. “Al-alright…” he said, with an obvious broken heart tone. It was like the male had slapped him on the face with that shake of his head. “Imp guesses he just isn’t good enough for you, is that it?” he said, eyes beginning to water again. “Imp understands… no one wants Imp. Imp is just pushed away like garbage. That’s Imp’s life.” His mind went back to it’s glum state, but he tried to not let it brush off on anyone else. He liked to keep others happy. If his sadness brought others sadness then he wasn’t fulfilling his purpose at all.
Head swiveled towards the direction of Teek and the sound of air rushing towards him, as the male’s snout was right by his. Imp swallowed hard as he tried his best to look away from the male’s eyes without moving his head. Looking at others eyes was scary. Within them was the gateway to their soul and their past that could be terribly mortifying. All looking into other wolves eyes did was make him sadder and more scared. The only way to escape was to move, but where to move too? In a last ditch effort to escape the eyes that he feared he got up and ran behind the other side of Santo, shivering wildly. That move had cost him a price. He had glanced into Teek’s eyes for a second and was welcomed by a look of dangerous intent and wildness. Again he leaned his face into Santo’s pelt for comfort, hoping the male would do something to protect him.
Then a word Teek said suddenly came to light. Perking his head off the silent male’s side he looked at Teek for a second, trying to understand what he meant. “You want to be Imp’s friend?” His heart began to thump louder within his chest and soon began to race. This word made him oblivious to what had happened a few seconds ago. He forgot about Teek’s malicious behavior and the intrusion of his space. He didn’t move from Santo’s side, but he did look at the other taller male differently. Was he serious? Or was he just playing with Imp’s heartstrings? “All Imp wants is friends….” he murmured more to himself than to the other males. Maybe this was the type of friend he was looking for. He might have been a little mean to him at first, but maybe Imp was making too many assumptions. Maybe at heart Teek was a nice guy, simply ruffled up by the mean manner Imp had treated him earlier.
