Isolde ignored Alya's comments, not wanting to get in an argument now. There was stuff to be dealt with. Like hunting. As she ran back from the den she actually smiled at Alya - a small smile, albeit - after her comment about snakes and rabbits. At least she was being enthusiastic instead of mutinous. Isolde felt a sting that Alya was the one rasing the morales of the others when it should have been herself but she pushed that away. If she wanted to gain the others respect she had to start by not obssessing over trivial, unimportant things. Though it would be quite hard.
She opened her mouth to say something else but closed it as a new scent came closer. Brute. Approaching. As the black brute appeared, Isolde made herself smile however when he began to speak the smile faded slightly. Salen Alpha? Isolde had never met Salen pack and even if he was alpha he couldn't just barge in on a conversation and expect to have the floor. Resisting the urge to growl, Isolde willed herself to be patient for once in her life and just hear him out. But when he adressed Alya as alpha and not her - and then spoke quietly to her - she couldn't stand it anymore.
Her eyes flashed angrily. "I am the alphess, not her," she said evenly, flashing a grateful smile in Kaoru's direction for backing her up and then, just for good measure, another one at Alya for pointing it out instead of taking credit or lording the mistake over her. Perhaps they were learning to live with each other already. At least, learning to talk civily. Thugh perhaps that mianly applied to her. She stepped forward, with a polite smile, though she had to admit she didn't really like this alpha who had just loped up. Her dislike was increased by his comment and she narrowed her eyes. She opened her mouth to spit back a scathing retort but instead clamped it shut, not wanting to make a scene. He left finally, saying he would return, and Isolde rolled her eyes as soon as he turned his back.
Alya and Kaoru began to talk, something about snakes or something, but their words seemed to drift over Isolde's head. In one ear and out the other, as she used to be told. She smirked to herself. But she felt she had to say something. "He did seem troubled," she agreed then cast around for more words. "Maybe something bad happened at his pack. Maybe it could be a threat. Or maybe he just wants to make an alliance" She gave a slight, dismissive shrug. "Whatever it is, I'm sure we'll find out when he returns." She gave a small nod as Kaoru said he was going hunting, thankful that something was being done to help out. Alya and Ityph opted to explore the den and that left Isolde unsure what to do.
Perhaps she could go hunt with Kaoru? It wasn't like he had said he wanted to be alone, though she had kind of gathered that impression. Or at least, he hadn't invited her along. Well, she thought optimistically, maybe she should get to know him better. "I'll go hunt too," she said with a grin. She started to trot off when she felt the ground tremble slightly beneath her paws. Her eyes anrrowed and she swung around to see Ityph bolting off in the direction of... the volcano.
Isa's eyes widened. It was.....errupting? Instinct compelled her to turn around and run fast but she knew that if she did that there was no way she could ever call herself an alpha - or even a pack member - again. With a sigh of frustration to mask her fea, Isolde sprinted after Ityph, hoping and praying that they wouldn't be too late. And of course, that they would be able to get out.
