The cold pressed against his skin like tiny daggers stabbing into his dark flesh. Shivers ripped through him like violent attacks, and the wind burned his eyes, making his gorgeous pear green optics rain translucent teardrops. It may take a while to get used to the cold.” Tanner thought absently, his green eyes scanning the snowy scene before him. As his eyes searched the nothingness within the snow, he caught the Alpha’s copper gaze and smiled a very handsome smile. “However there are some things that may not take getting used to at all.” Tanner mused, his smile broadening wide enough to create suspicion. What was going on in that devious mind of his?
In truth Meikou looked a lot like his sister, the coat color was different, but the eyes, the eyes were the exact same. Tanner stared at her a long moment, lost in the vibrant color of her rust optics and in a vivid memory of his sister, barely a month ago. Like a scene playing on a movie screen, Meikou’s eyes reflected a perfect and vivid image of his sister, his beloved Ekala. Tanner glanced down at the scars that adorned his front right leg, although they didn’t affect him anymore, the memories were burnt deep into his brain. The fight between him and Ekala’s forbidden mate was a brutal one, jaws tore from every angle, talons dug deep into exhausted flesh. That was the first and last time he had seen his Nephew, the small cream coloured infant captured his heart instantly, and yet he left.
Tanner lifted his body off the ground and shook the snow from his brunette fur. His ears twitched as he noticed sounds like distant whistling wind, and scurrying Jack Rabbits.
“Welcome to The Oriens, home to the pack of Aldgar. I’m Meikou, Aldgar’s alphess if you haven’t already guessed. Ha-ha.”
His ears swivelled at the sounds of her voice, beautiful and gentle, perhaps like the purr of a cat or the gentle coo of a dove. I can definitely adapt to this.” The voice in his mind hummed to him quietly, as if a lullaby meant to pacify him into a deep sleep, into a place...peaceful. For a moment his lids seemed to droop, but then snapped open again quickly as he realized where he was. Forgetting himself at a time like this was costly and he was not about to make that kind of mistake. He smiled kindly and bowed his head for the second time to the Alpha, Tanner thought that the feeling of submitting to someone would be weird, awkward, but it seemed to come easier to him than he expected. That however didn’t mean he wasn’t glad it was over, rolling in the snow like that, exposing his more vital organs to a stranger was not something he enjoyed doing, and hopefully it wouldn’t become a regular occurrence.
“My name is Tanner Aldgar Alphess Meikou, and I extend my humblest appreciation toward you. Thank you” With those words Tanner rose and faced her, thankful that their exchange was done and they could head back to wherever it was they called home. “It’s my home to now.” Tanner thought, mulling over the words gently in his head, assessing them. He liked them. Tanner could definitely get used to this.
