Finally, he made it. The tiny Iranian male wanted to jump and howl for joy because he had made it to freedom. The warm sun was beating on his back and he never felt so good. He was far from unapproving eyes and scowls. He was free to do whatever he pleased. This land had not pack in it which made it even better because then he wouldn't have to deal with any pesky alphas. His crooked smile found it's way back onto his face as he looked at the dead grass before him. He blended perfectly into his surroundings. By the looks of it this was a field that would come into a beautiful bloom during the summer months. He loved summer. Summer was when it was the hottest and driest which was just the was he liked it. Hot weather was perfect for sunning. He trotted into this field of dead grass. His gate was smooth and his pace was slow. He was in no hurry, he had all the time in the world. He carried his tail low and wagged it a little bit. He was truly happy. This was his paradise. It was warm even in the fall, there were little animals that he could play with, no one telling him what to do and best of all this land lay claim to none.
It was not too long until he found a nice little patch in the sun for him to lay down and relax. He stretched his front legs out in front of him and let out a yawn. He layed down and stretched his front legs again as he lay on his side. It was peaceful here. The only things that he could hear were the little chipmunks that were dumb enough to come near him, a little bird that had not migrated yet and the swishing of the grass in the wind. The wind was warm and caressed his fur. It played little songs in his ear. He shut his eyes for just a moment. The tan male relaxed his body and his breathing slowed as he drifted of into slumber.
About a half hour passed and the tiny male began to wake up from his very nice nap. He opened one eye and then the other. He stretched his back which looked very similar to how a cat would stretch. Come to think of it, this wolf was a lot like a cat. He stretched his front legs out again and let out another yawn as he got to his feet. He cleared his throat and moved his tongue in him mouth to loosen it up from the saliva that had set there. His stomach grumbled. He looked to the ground in hopes of finding a nice plump rabbit. He began walking to perhaps find something to satisfy his hunger. He saw a few little chipmunks but those aren't worth catching, they are only good for playing with.
He had been walking around for about 5 minutes and he began to think that he would just deal with his hunger because all of this walking bored him. Then he saw it. A rabbit, not as fat as he would have liked but definitely worth the effort of catching. It faced away from him. The male got into hunting position. It felt odd hunting but, it was instinctual and he figured it would come naturally. he crouched low in the grass, not making a single sound. He slowly crept up on the unsuspecting thing. The rabbit turned it's head and spotted him. He froze but, the rabbit knew better and began running. He chased after it at full speed. His long legs made him fast but this rabbit was faster. It twisted and turned trying to shake the wolf from its tail but, he was hungry and persistent. It was like the two were dancing. The rabbit would make a move and the wolf would follow. But, the rabbit dashed into its hole, a move the wolf could not follow. He tried to dig it out but the rabbit was too far deep and he was too tired. He lay by the hole waiting for something to come out.
