Sariya had wandered off again. Not like last time, of course. Oh, no. She was still in Kamari, still on Haishin Pack lands, just not around any of the members. She had left Scout alone to explore, and her mother had ran off to answer a border call of some sort. She hadn't seen either of them since. So, she used her time alone to do more thinking. Thinking about her father, her sister. What life should be like. What her life should have turned out to be. Not this lonely one she had grown so tired of. But one with a real family, real love. Not, that her mother did not love her. That was not the case at all. Akhira loved her, and Sari loved her mother more than anything in the world. After all, she's all she has left.
The princess missed her sister, most of all. It was lonely for a pup to have no one to play with, no one to go on adventures with or to get into mischief alongside. Aneysa was her name. And Sariya heart ached for her sibling.
She found herself at Boryz Prairie. A wide open space in Kamari, she believes this is where she lost track of herself when she wandered too far the last time. She started to take a couple steps back when she caught sight of a group of wolves. She tilted her head, wondering what was going on, and felt her hackles begin to rise at unfamiliar faces. The she spotted two. One was Scout, her best friend. His body language spoke that something was wrong, he looked sad, disappointed, maybe. Even shameful. She wanted to reach out to him, nuzzle him under his jaw and comfort him. Make everything okay again.
She also saw the great alphess of Haishin, Akhira. Or what Sariya was more fond of calling her, "Mom." She looked distressed, something was clearly wrong. She took off toward the group, eager to be by her mother's side. Eager to help make whatever this was right. When she reached them, she nuzzled Scout fondly and licked his cheek in an affectionate greeting. She felt as though it had been forever since she had last saw him, though she knew it really had not been that long. Then she turned to her mother and nudged her jaw gently with her nose. "Mother, I am here. Care to introduce me to all of your new friends?" She asked, lightly. She could tell her mother was strained and she wasn't sure if her playfulness would make it worse, or would lighten her mood a bit.
Hopefully, Akhira would see that she was here to help. The white fae looked around at the new faces. First, she spotted a brute. Another Eastern Timber Wolf, he was handsome and a little weasel followed him around. Interesting... Sariya did not dwell on it, her attention refocused on a small femme that had her eyes on Akhira, this must have been the one her mother had been speaking to before Sariya meandered herself into the group. She took a stand flanking her mother, showing her position in the pack and where her loyalties lay. She supposed if she stood there, the newcomers would put the pieces together and see that she was part of the pack. It was good to be home. Count --> 569 w. Muse --> Better once she gets involved. Zodiac sat on his haunches, letting out a deep sigh, as he listened to the two females converse. It was clear that Akihra was annoyed, and the presence of the lone femme was only making matters worse. And when the alphess mentioned harboring loners...Zodiac let out a low whine, sinking to the ground in shame. If he had known that he was merely one of many, he would have just blurted out his reasons for entering her territory. She probably would have run him off then and there, but at least it would be one less loner for her to worry about.
Right?
When the other male approached, Zodiac turned, looking for Baron. The weasel was standing a fair distance away, where the smaller brute had left him, with his jaw hanging slack. How dare that pup simply walk away! With an annoyed chitter, Baron chased after the smaller brute. With a loud yelp, Zodiac sprang to his feet, pouncing on Baron before the weasel could do any damage. Baron let out a squeak of pain before latching onto Zodiac’s foot. The brute didn’t release his hold.
“Will you get offa me, wolfie?” Baron spat, tugging on Zodiac’s skin. The brute let out a quiet whine, glancing at Akihra. “You have to promise that you’ll stay still and keep your paws to yourself,” the brute whined pathetically. He glanced back down at Baron, surprised to see the amused look in the weasel’s beady eyes. “Why are you looking at me like that?”
Instead of answering him, Baron wiggled out from under the brute’s paws. He chittered angrily at Zodiac before going for the smaller brute. But then, he saw a white female approaching, and decided against it. Mere seconds passed and the weasel came up with a brilliant plan. With a smirk, he bounded towards the white female. Zodiac, not wanting the stupid weasel to cause Akihra to kick them both out, started after him. He managed to pin the weasel down once again, not realizing how close to the white female he actually was.
“Don’t make me carry you around like a pup, Baron,” the brute growled, sounding as intimidating as he appeared, for once. When the weasel merely smirked at him, his growl drifted into the wind, and he narrowed his eyes at the creature. Then he looked up, practically nose to nose with the white female. His expression fell into complete shock, and he simply stared at her, jaw slack.

Dense, heavy air suffocated her, the heat causing her to be sluggish as the air kept pulling from her lungs. Light tan fur ruffled up against the slight breeze and golden yellow eyes watched everything with open curiousity. A dull ache rumbled through her, the pangs reminding her of just why she had ventured forth from her less than cozy home, though she remained distracted by the scenery. It would still be there tomorrow, so what was so special about it? Nothing really, execpt that when the sun had just come up, and all was still and silent, this place had an almost magical quality about it.
The crunching of dry, brittle grass restored her focus in a rush. Muscles sank into the familiar pose with fluid grace, following their commands out of habbit while her mind was left to think of the execution. Maw parted in anticipation of catching the scent of something she could only hope would turn out to be a delicious meal. Crouching low, her small frame pressed to the ground, pelt blending in with her natural surrounddings. A flash of white caught the attention of her yellow-gold eyes. Rabbit, her mouth began to water. Though it would be a small meal, the creature seemed to be a gift sent fourth from the heavens.
Patience. Something she valued as her greatest asset, was what she needed. The white-furred creature tested this, but she had to wait or she would blow her chance. The anticipating rumble of her belly nearly made her twitch in irritation. All she needed to do was analyze the situation and wait for the plump little critter that had walked out into plain sight to lose it's focus. Long ivory claws flexed, digging silently into gravvel as she crept forward on sound absorbing paws.
With fluid motions she slithered closer and closer, now nearly upon her target. She could practically taste the meal to come already and her stomach gave a quiet gurgle of impatience and approval over the femme's choice in lunch. With her gaze steadily trained on the hare, she watched and waited. Finally! Her chance! With a mouthful of berries the rabbit couldn't possibly scent her coming, but hearing was a different thing. She was confident in her ability to leap the distance, but she didn't want to chance it just yet.
Gliding forward, one dainty paw in front of the other. Now was the time! With a low growl, she launched herself forward, coiled muscles unwinding with a snap. She landed squarely atop the rabbit, and though the small creature thrashed and shrieked warning to other nearby animals, it was soon dead at her paws. Licking her maw, she raised her head to look around, her eyes gleaming ferally with success. It was at this moment that the breeze changed, carrying with it something she knew, but hadn't encountered in a long while.
Wolves.
How many there were, she didn't know. All that she knew for sure in this moment was that they were here, and she had just killed prey on their territory.
This was getting to be far too much for the alphess to handle. It seemed that wolves were popping out of the wood works, and Akihra simply could not keep track of everyone. Her daughter had finally made an appearance, this lone femme was begging her for permission to hunt on the pack's territory, yet not wanting anything to do with her pack, Scout was trying to assist the ailing alphess - it was becoming all too apparent the femme's discomfort - that blasted little weasel and his pet wolf were causing trouble, and to top everything off, yet another wolf had decided it was time to join the "flood Kamari" party.
Of everyone here, the only members of her pack were herself and her daughter. That irritated her, and Akihra was half-tempted to run everyone out of the territory that did not have a right to be there. While she was often a level headed wolf, the deal with Kallik had spurned so much trouble that lone wolves had the alphess severely on edge. Her eyes were constantly flitting back and forth, searching for any intruders that were not so brave as to make an appearance before her. Those were the ones she was most concerned about, because at least these wolves had the decency to approach the pack's leader.
Then, it seemed as if time had halted around her.
The scent of fresh-spilled blood flooded the femme's nostrils, her senses overwhelmed by the sudden desire to consume whatever had just been slain. It took a fraction of a second longer to realize that her entire "pack" was here before her, and whoever was hunting was not of the Haishin pack. A growl rumbled through the femme's throat as she stalked toward the direction of the kill, certain on giving this wolf a piece of her mind before driving him or her as far away as possible.
The shriek of a common rabbit confirmed the alphess's suspicions. Someone was here and intruding on her pack's lands.
What the wolf found herself staring at was a guilty-looking femme with the freshly killed rabbit before her. The alphess's eyes narrowed at the invader, her lips curling back in a snarl as she stared the femme down dangerously. "You are an outsider in my territory, femme. What do you think you are doing?" she asked, a sickening air of calm about her words. She was angry, and it would not take a brilliant creature to notice. The femme would be best off answering, and soon.
((OOC: We're going to need to branch this thread off. If some of you could potentially just move the side conversations to another thread, it's getting incredibly cluttered and difficult to follow a posting order now that we have Gem, myself, Lisa, Scout, Psych, and now Amara lol.))
Scout listened to the small female as she introduced herself as Imara. He himself thought that it was quite rude to waltz onto another's property and ask to steal their food. Akihra had a family to take care of here and a growing daughter. Speaking of whom, he had not seen since he first arrived here. He wondered where she could possibly be. He hoped with all his heart that she was staying where she was supposed to be, in the territory here. She had gotten lucky that he had found her and not another wolf. If someone else came upon her, she might have never come back. But, that didn't matter because he had found her and she was home safely and now he was living under the protection of the Haishin pack, for now. He wasn't sure what he wanted to do when it came to the pack here.
He wanted to stay with Akihra and Sariya but, he also didn't want to give up his freedom. He knew that pack wolves were supposed to stay in their lands but, Scout loved exploring and seeing the world. He hadn't been to most of the island yet at all. He had only been here and in the I'querer. He loved it there. It was hot all the time and the sun was great for basking and there were many little animals for him to play with. He remembered the long naps be used to take in the sun and the fun he had chasing rabbits and toads. Maybe that was why Sariya left and went to the I'querer. Maybe she loved wandering and exploring as much as he did. Maybe she liked playing with ground animals and basking in the sun too. It was starting to make sense to him now.
But, he also loved it here. The land here was beautiful and so full of green and it felt nice to have other wolves around him. He got lonely sometimes and it was nice to be able to talk to someone other than your shadow. He thought about joining several packs before. He had almost stayed with Tharamon, a huge wolf that he had met a long time ago and never saw again. And, he almost formed a pack with Tolko, whom he never saw again either. He hadn't seen either of those wolves in so long, he wondered what they were up to. Though, he loved it here, it was a bit cold for him and he didn't know f he could get used to it. He had been slowly becoming accustomed to it but, he wasn't sure it was entirely healthy for him to be in a cooler temperature. It wasn't at all "cold" by most wolves' standards but, Scout was a desert wolf and liked the smoldering hot, dry air.
The small female, looked to be a desert wolf too but, not exactly like him. Maybe he would show her some place where she might be more comfortable. She went on and saying that she only ate small things and that Akihra's pack would be fine because she only eats things that larger wolves would pass by. Scout was a smaller wolf but, he didn't generally eat scraps. He had a big appetite and small stomach which didn't often go along together very well. He liked eating good parts of the kills. He, of course, would eat scraps but, that would only be if he was going to die if he didn't. Scout was not a picky wolf any sense of the word but, he liked to eat well. That was another thing that kept him thinking about staying here with Akihra and joining her pack. The food here was much better looking than the scrawny rabbits and lizards that scampered along the ground. He hadn't eaten anything since he arrived here because he thought it would be rude and stealing so, he would need to make up his mind quickly before he starved to death.
There she was! Scout was suddenly very happy when he saw his friend Sariya. Of course he was still hurt that he was causing so much trouble for Akihra but, Sariya was here! She greeted him warmly with a nuzzle and a lick on the cheek. Scout's tail wagged as he nuzzled her back. He was very happy to see her. Not only was she safe but, she seemed happy and healthy as well. She asked to be introduced to the newer people in the "group" she had probably never seen these wolves before and neither had he. He could have told her who the wolves were but, she asked her mother to do it so, he kept quite. His whole plan in this situation was to stay out of the way. He didn't want to make anything worse than it already was. He could tell that Sariya was trying to help her mother.
He smelled a rabbit and rabbit's blood. He hoped that it was a member here and not another loner. But, Akihra's words proved him wrong. It was indeed another lone wolf. He had done this to her and he felt sad again. He felt as if it was his fault that she was feeling all of this strain. He thought of Akihra as a friend and to see her like this was not easy for him. Scout loved all his friends. He could hear the anger in her voice and it didn't take a rocket scientist to notice. Scout felt that he needed to get out of here. He had started this day, in the grass and napping and now Akihra was angry and stressed, there were...four loners in her territory including him? He wanted to get out of here. It was too much for him to handle. He wasn't used to dealing with all of this. He wanted to go back to his old, simple life but, he felt like that it was going to happen. He looked at Akihra and then at Sariya and then he took his leave. His scrawny, starving frame jogged away. He didn't want to abandon Akihra or Sariya in this moment but, he couldn't stay here any longer. He was tearing himself up staying here. Scout tended to avoid problems and this was one of those times. He felt that if they needed him, they could call him and he would be there. He thought that the less wolves were in the situation, the less stressful it will be on Akihra and Sariya. He didn't know where he would go but, he new he didn't want to be in that situation.
