This male was trying hard to test her patience. If Edrianna had been any other wolf, she would have lashed out by this point. However, she was too keen on keeping herself in Tiayr to allow such a grumpy, irrational male get to her. With her ever calm face, the female nodded her head in acknowledgement of the alpha's words that he had no intention to gain members by coming here. The Mackenzie Valley female truly did not care what his intentions would be; he would be a fool not to allow her into his pack based solely on the fact that he did not come here for more members. She knew this land inside and out; every possible escape and hiding place was available to her, whereas this wolves knew nothing of Tiayr. She could easily make their lives a living hell if they were to rub her the wrong way. The least the damn pack could do was offer to allow her to stay in exchange for helping them provide for the pack. She could certainly do that much. Amar, as the alpha called his pack, would not go hungry with Edrianna behind the reins.
"The gypsies moved on, as per their name, of course. As for Isata, they were absorbed into a larger pack," she responded to his quip about the previous packs. Just because his pack was here now did not mean that they wold not fall to a nasty fate, either. While she would not fight them directly, Edrianna could certainly cause some of them to happen upon an untimely death. She was part of the reason that what was left of Isata opted to leave Tiayr rather than stay. She was abrasive and would not allow them to think she could be bossed around, particularly after their alphess pulled her disappearing act. She was no pushover, and that much was easy to see.
"I am not much of a fighter, I'm afraid. I am a huntress by trade, Lord," she retorted to his question of what skills she could offer the pack. "I have provided for myself and miscellaneous others throughout the years, and my success rate is much higher than average." She would not get too boastful with her skills, but it was a clear cut fact that she caught well over half her prey, which was an extraordinarily high percentage rate for a wolven hunter, particularly an individual. While she had mostly been limited to hunting either vulnerable prey or smaller prey, she had the mechanics of a pack hunt down as well. Edrianna found herself observing others once her parents had left Tiayr in order to obtain the necessary knowledge. She had no desire to injure others, but feeding herself was a life saving skill in itself, and Edrianna also knew that good hunters were often in short supply.
This alpha keeps giving me a funny look, she thought absently, fighting the urge to narrow her eyes bitterly at the male. Just because he had this pack behind him did not mean that he could not be a target. All it would take was challenging his rank to keep the remainder of the pack out of the fight. If they were to intervene, then it would be considered an unfair challenge on the brute's behalf and Edrianna would likely reign supreme. That was, if the scraggly mutts actually decided to follow their instincts instead of blindly following a leader who was stuffed full of bullshit. She could see that happening as well, though she honestly believed that at least one or two of them could see the light. There was a dark male hanging to the back of this alpha's pack that seemed not only hesitant to be there, but someone separated from the pack in the first place. It was individuals like that that Edrianna was more likely to find solace in, rather than trying to push her way in with force. She would befriend someone, and that would be her ticket to this blasted male leaving her alone. She could demonstrate camaraderie if that was what this alpha sought. She felt a tighter bond to Tiayr than she could ever feel to any pack, though.
"I understand if you will not take me by my word. If you wish, I can certainly demonstrate my abilities for you," she offered with the slightest of smiles. Edrianna was up for playing this game. Whatever the alpha wanted, she would provide. She would not allow his brutish nature to take away what was rightfully her home. Just because he brought this pack of mismatched mongrels into Tiayr did not make it any less of her home. She would fight to keep control of it, even if it meant stooping to membership of the pack. "I am more the willing to oblige."
