The white wolf walked with her head down. Up until recently, she lived in her mother's and uncle's pack alongside her siblings. She and her brother Kiba were chosen shortly after they were born to be the next alphas and so she was trained from the time she was born how to be an amazing alpha. Without a father, she had made a close connection to her uncle and never thought they would be separated. In fact, no one in the pack ever thought the pack would be separated. Everything was good and everyone was happy as they believed things would always be. But that's not how things played out. The she wolf shuddered at the flashbacks she got, she hated remembering that night. The sound of burning woods...the sky high flames...her family crying and running in panic...having to leave them behind when the fire cut them off...that was the reason she was no longer with them, living in the only place she ever knew as home with her family. The fire that destroyed everything she knew and loved was the reason why, instead of training to be a future alpha, she was having to join a new pack with new wolves, as a subordinate. Again she shuddered and whimpered softly. How was it possible that one night, one event, could change and destroy so much and could cause so much pain and suffering.
She followed the faded scent of the various pack members until it got stronger, letting her know she had reached the boundaries and, since this was not her pack, could go no farther. Her body tensed and shook slightly as she tried to gather the courage to howl. She opened her mouth but no sound came out and her icy blue eyes looked down to the ground, full of longing. She wanted nothing more than to be home, crossing her own territory, and knowing she was going to meet her family. But as she stood at the invisible barrier, reality was forced upon her. She had two choices, be a loner and live life knowing her biggest fear of disappointing her mother and uncle had come true or forget being a future alpha and join a pack, where she could at least try to please her family, as unlikely as it would be for her to actually become alpha of a strange new pack. She decided which of the two choices she wanted to go with and gathered up the nerve to let a small quiet howl, hoping someone would hear her.
