History: Lietus was born unto the world to his mother alone and afraid on the coast of north western Canada. He was the only live birth of the four pups. His mother was a stray from a small pack in the area who had been slaughtered by another pack that wanted their hunting ground. His mother had fled as he mate lay dieing, his life's blood pooling on the ground. In her flight away from the lands his mother had pushed her body beyond its limits. This strain caused her body to reject and kill the pups in a self preservation effort. Somehow Lietus managed to stay alive, and once she gave birth to them she nearly left him behind assuming all the pups had been still births.
Once she found his small mewling body among the dead his mother took him with her as she fled south away from the pack that had destroyed their family. In time his mother found a small hollow on the coast in which she nursed him leaving only to hunt the birds of the area for food to keep herself alive. As the months past his mother grew weaker due to the stress of hunting and nursing. The damage of the travel and the birth had hurt her deeply and she was dieing a slow and painful death. Several more months passed as she continued to grow weaker. By this time Lietus was more active and moving around finally.
By the time his teeth came fully in Lietus' mother passed away in her sleep. Lietus was left alone on the coast among the sand, rain, and cold. He stayed along side his mothers body for many days growing weaker as time passed. In time he was driven out by hunger and thirst onto the beach. There he began to learn in slow bits the art of hunting the birds of the coast. As a pup his strength was small and his teeth were small and sharp. He quickly realized he could not hunt the birds themselves, however he found their nests. There in he found their eggs and hunger over coming him he consumed them.
With this new found sustenance Lietus found himself lost as to what to do. He knew in some pup way that his mother was gone even though her body rested not far from where he stood. He felt no fear, nor anger at the situation. Just a detached emotional state as he realized he was alone. Faced with this fact Lietus decided to try and survive as he could. He stayed there on the beach for months on his own. AS he grew he started being able to hunt the actual birds instead of just their nests.
As time went on Lietus began to move further in land to explore the area he was living in. He found mostly a pallid forest of rain washed trees and sandy dirt. There was life here however it was sparse. He himself was the largest hunter here though at the time he did not realize it. It was here alone that Lietus grew up. He learned the ways of the hunt and how to survive alone and in silence. He left his mother's body to the cave she had found and found his own place of rest under some old driftwood down further along the beach.
As he grew his body filled out. This however took more and more to keep him fed causing him to swing further in land as he had to hunt more and more prey to keep going. This in time lead him to move himself further into the empty forest so he could hunt easier. He adjusted to the constant dimness and rain of the forest and learned to let his fur, which seemed bleached of color, help him hide and take better prey.
In these woods Lietus subsisted on his own for years the silence perpetual except for what nature itself provided. He never heard the words or howls of his own kind just the natural worlds speech to itself. However this gave Lietus a deeper understanding of the sounds of the world. His ear began being able to pick out disturbances in the natural order of the world. From this he could hunt and scout things as they moved through his lands. In his life Lietus never knew loneliness nor sadness. Just the constant bleak existence of the world. He had been alone for many years when man finally stepped foot into his world.
Humans began to move into the area to install oil pipelines when they came across Lietus. At first a fleeting shadow of a creature in a place where predators of his size were not supposed to exist. In time as he was spotted more often, while scouting what the noise had brought, and the workers called for naturalists to come and remove the creature from where it should not exist. It was then that Lietus first met fear and what it could do to a creature. As the hunters stalked his ground he ran. He ran for his life for once the piercing emotion that drove his mother to run till she killed her unborn pups inside of her drove itself deep into him.
However much like life nothing can last forever. Lietus found himself on the coast once again in front of the hollow that his mother's body lay in. He sat on his haunches staring sightlessly at the cave which had been his home when he had first come here. His breath ragged as he fought back the fear and pain of the sprint. He heard the steps of humans as they closed in on him. As they broke through the sight that greeted them was a male wolf of medium build sitting silently in front of a cave. He did not react merely stared at the cave with emotionless eyes as the came closer and drew their tranquilizer guns. Even as they drew a bead on him his body was still.
As the first hunter began to pull his trigger Lietus turned his head. His gray eyes faded and emotionless as he stared deep into the humans gaze. Even as the gun fired Lietus did not move. The tranquilizer pierced his side and the only reaction he gave was a slight shiver from the pain. As the drugs took hold his body collapsed limp to the ground. The human felt the echoes of the emptiness of the look from the creature though still deep in his mind. Like a hollow shell of a wolf.
Lietus was taken from the area to be sent first to a wolf center in south africa before being shipped to a zoo in Asia. However the ship bringing his still comatose body to africa decided to take a detour to cut off some time. Like many ships before it, it was lost to the waves and wake of an unknown island. This island is where Lietus once again woke. Soundlessly he stood his eyes searching over the land even as he ears sought out the patterns and rhythms of life. Here was a new land a new start for a wolf as hollow as the rain.
Personality: Lietus is the epitome of silence and emptiness. He is a creature that has never known love nor sadness. He has never felt anothers touch nor heard anothers words. He is a creature that is but a shell of a wolf. Lietus is none the less and accomplished hunter. His lack of speech as given him a great understanding of sound and the world around him. He is a precise stealthy hunter who hunts merely to sustain life on some baser instinct. However he is not an emotionless creature. He has felt pain. He has felt fear and he knows that these things can drive a creature to limits one would not understand otherwise.
Lietus is above all a creature of an innocent nature. A steel gray nature that lacks any definition. He was created by the world he had been part of. A land of gray clouds and constant rain. The only word ever spoken to him in his life was his name. His mother had whispered it once to him not long before she had passed. This is the only words he has heard in his life. He knew somewhere deep in him that the word was his name even though he hardly understood the concept of a name to begin with. He is a blank slate, a creature of no definition or cause.
