The journey had been a long one for him, tiring him out and the sight of a tree in the distance was a relief he thought he would not feel again today, after scavenging some meat off a carcass a few hours back. Huffing slightly as he flopped down onto his side underneath the tree, ignoring the slight chill in the air that came with winter, grateful for the small amount of shade it provided, Rayne wondered briefly if he was even on the right track anymore. The search for his sister had proved fruitless so far and so the large male was becoming somewhat disheartened at the fact he may not find her.
What if he never found her? What if she did not want to be found? Rayne knew how good she was at covering her tracks, should she make that choice.
But the thoughts of his sister were soon tossed from his mind when, regardless of whether his sister wanted to be found or not, he would not give up and would continue onward, after a short break. Arranging himself more comfortably underneath the tree, Rayne set his eyes upwards towards the sky, studying it carefully. The air had been stale the last few days, with only lights winds soaring through every now and than to ruffle at his rusty fur. He pondered if there may be rain later on in the week.
Even if it was winter, Rayne did enjoy well, the rain. It was soothing and calmed him down whenever he was stressed. It was nice to stand in the rain during summer and be cooled down, after days of heat. Sometimes, when they were younger, him and his family would play in the rain. In winter though, he enjoyed the rain from whatever den he was residing in, curled up in the warmth and safety of it.
