History: It was a cold, blistery night on the desert plains of Southern Africa. The wind blew the sand into the eyes of a small, black she-wolf, who was hiding out in a crevice of a dune in the Namib Desert. She shuddered painfully. Sand flew into her eyes and she cried out. She shuddered again, this time from the chill. When she felt the pain, she tried to fight it rather than succumbing. For how could she birth her precious pups in weather such as this? Would any of them survive? And yet, birth them she would. For she had no choice. After several hours of agony, she finally pushed out the first pup. It was a male, solid black in color. Just like herself. The second was the same, with white paws. The last that came, after much too long, was a little girl. Her coat was creamy and light. She was the spitting image of her father. The she-wolf cried when she saw her daughter. The little pup shivered, and began to seize. Frantically, the mother cleaned her quickly and hid her in the crevice of her belly, trying to keep her warm. After what felt like seasons, the pup's body quieted. Terrified that something was wrong with her only daughter, the ebony wolfess kept a watchful eye on her. At any tremor, she would try to block the weather further. As a result, she neglected her sons accidentally. Both were suffocated by the sand that was constantly sprayed into their tiny mouths by the strong winds. She didn't notice this until it was too late. When she did, she mourned their deaths bitterly. How could she have murdered her own sons? And yet, after the night ended, and the little female had lived, she moved past the tragedy.
The storm had left the femme quite weak and unstable herself, but she did everything she could to feed her little daughter and keep her safe. Unfortunately, she only lasted a few months. As her delicate daughter grew steadily, the mother became more and more sure of a name. She had always thought that her daughter should have the name of a flower, because she was the prettiest thing her mother had ever laid eyes on. And because her health and body seemed so delicate. And, plainly, because of the way her eyes stood out from the rest of her softly-colored coat. Eventually, she decided upon the Celosia flower. It was rather rare. She had only ever seen it in the plains of East Africa. It was such a beautiful, delicate looking flower. But truly, it was medicinal and strong, and she hoped that her daughter would grow out of her poor health and become a strong, helpful she-wolf one day. She hoped that her daughter would grow to help and heal others. The Celosia flower could also be consumed as food, although this was more likely the case in the actual plant rather than the flower. It was truly a diverse, and quite magical little plant. It came in a variety of colors, but the color that the young mother had seen most frequently was the same color that her daughter had inherited in her eyes. It was just....altogether perfect.
And so she was named Celosia. As she grew, with the help of her mother's constant care, she did slowly begin to grow stronger and lose her health problems that had manifested themselves at birth. However, her mother's health continued to slowly deteriorate. By the time little Celosia had reached six months, her mother was too weak to stand. In a very short time, her mother passed away. The little pup was left without the skills to hunt or fight, and without anyone to teach her. The little one had adored her mother more than anything else, and instead of wandering off to find shelter with another creature, she simply stayed by her mother's side. She tried to do what she had seen her mother do to get food, but she had neither the talent nor the skill to perform any such task. As a result, she suffered physically. In the most cliche way, as the pup was beginning to regain some of her poor health, a member of the pack that actually claimed the Namib Desert came across her. She had been attempting yet again to hunt, driven to extremity by her intense hunger. The wolf who encountered her took pity on her simply because she was young and obviously half-starved. His pack was very serious about intruders, however, and they were normally severely punished and driven away. He brought her back to his pack though, and accepted full responsibility for her if need-be. His alpha was displeased, but couldn't help but to take pity on the beautiful, frail little pup as well.
And so Celosia grew up in the strictest pack. And everyone looked down on her from the very first because she was an "outsider". So, in order to gain the attention that she so desperately craved, Celosia used her beauty. She would often flirt with other males, completely innocently in her young age, but more and more intentionally as she grew and matured. She of course trained very hard with her savior, whom she called "Bozi" and increased her skills in both hunting and fighting. She excelled so much that he recommended her to an actual position in the pack, but the alpha refused. Instead, he insisted that she remain an omega. This frustrated the femme greatly. To hide this frustration, she acted out even more towards males. She led many on without complying to any their desires. This brought both intrigue and frustration to the alpha. He was mad because the vast majority of his pack was extremely lustful of this young female, but were not allowed to touch her simply because of her young age, if she denied consent. Because of that, they pack were almost demanding that she be given rank so that as soon as she reached two years, they could all claim her. Several did not have pure intentions. The alpha himself could not simply ignore this problem any longer. One night, he summoned her to his den. She assumed he was going to exile her, and so she made her goodbyes to Bozi--although the male pretended to not care that she was leaving--and entered the alpha's den. He quickly began a brief interview with her. He asked her if she had noticed the any of the males' attentions, and she replied with sarcasm. He went on, asking questions concerning her position, her future in the pack, and finally, whether she thought her blood was worthy of producing any good stock for the pack. Celosia was infuriated by the last question and bared her teeth. At which point, the alpha stood, smiling wickedly, and attempted to claim her himself, despite her young age. She was only a year and a half.
Celosia, empowered by her fury, was able to get one good blow in rather quickly that stunned the male long enough for her to get away. But not before the male had grabbed her left ear in his maw, in an attempt to subdue her quickly. As a result, it was torn in several places. She ran swiftly, heading south. She thought that if she could simply escape the desert, she would be safe. But she spent the next few months with her head constantly turned behind her. This soon caused insomnia. Soon, Celosia tired of the torment. She decided to exit the continent. As she approached the Cape, she thought that she was on the west bank of Africa. She thought that she was swimming to Madagascar, where she would have plenty of room to hide, and which was also the place her pack would least expect her to be. The swim took much longer than she anticipated, however, and when she washed up on the shores, the island appeared much different than she had imagined. Without being aware of it, she had crossed the ocean to the small island of Anikira.
Personality: Celosia is a mess of spunk, sass, and flirt. Celosia is really very sweet and caring. She is quite thoughtful, and will even go out of her way to help someone even if she isn't extremely familiar with them. She is very charismatic, and this charisma and bubbly personality is what draws others right to her. Her energy is contagious, and she constantly expresses it throughout various means, one of them is flirting. She loves company, and especially the good kind. True to her name, Celosia is quite the helpful type, although she doesn't outwardly make this obvious. She likes to help others in any way she can. On the other token, Celosia is rather distrusting of the pack structure, especially any pack that has distinct lines between male and female. Any pack of this sort is rather loathed automatically by the young female. She detests any such distinction of abilities, and highly condemns and criticizes any who participate in such a ridiculous view. She is always ready to defend her point of view, even to the point of a physical fight. So be wary.
Celosia also has quite the spunky side. When times get hard, it simply ignites her. She possesses quite a high level of sass and can always respond quickly with sarcasm. She is a quick thinker, and she truly knows when and how to defend herself in almost all circumstances. She treats everyone as her equal, thinking no higher of any male or alpha, and therefore does poorly in any pack. However, despite her loathing of packs, she is always drawn to them. She is drawn to the idea of them; the idea that your pack is your family, and that they are, simply put, there for you. She wants so badly to have this family, but because of her past experiences--of which were almost completely opposite--she doesn't believe that this kind of pack exists. Consequently, any pack who claims to have this become instantly suspicious in her eyes. When dealing with such a pack is one of the very few times that you would ever see her "dark side". She can become dryly sarcastic, past the point of rudeness. She can even become quite haughty of such packs.
She is observant of her surroundings, and she works better being a fast thinker rather than having a methodical approach. You could say she is impulsive by nature, always acting first rather than thinking first--it is something that helps her in her altruistic form, always being the first to act without thinking when one is in need of help. But, at the same time, her fast mouth and quick personality can get her into uncomfortable situations, but her spark, charm and charisma always seem to pull her right out of it. Celosia likes to be always on the move, always seeking out adventure and passion wherever she goes. She's fiercely independent, flirtatious and courageous, often being the one that speaks when no one even dares to. Her flirtatious behavior is her own way of seeking attention. It is the only way she knows to draw attention to herself, and it is the only way--in her mind--in which any company would approach her, talk to her, or seek a friendship with her. This is something that she deeply craves, though she hides this fact. She speaks her mind, and she has no fear of letting others know of what she thinks. She is somewhat closed, however, always keeping her past locked away in fear of getting hurt, masking the pain behind the flirting and the spontaneous personality. All in all, Celosia is like a ball of energy that spreads smiles wherever she goes, and she will certainly leave a pawprint on every wolf she meets for the rest of her life.
