It was very early. So much, that it was not quite morning yet; the stars still shone brightly over the horizon. After his encounter with Elijah, he had traveled to the beautiful Ia'gha Lake to witness its beauty in person. However, as he admired the beauty in front of him, the night had taken control of the day rather quickly, covering the skies with navy shades of blue; the stars began to appear, and the moon rose above the horizon, ever so bright, ever so beautiful. In the midst of the night's darkness and the day's approaching light, a lone figure slept soundly beneath a tree. Its chest rose and fell, and a peaceful expression reigned on his face. His face, however, began to show signs of distress as the events of a dream flashed before his eyes.
There was nothing but darkness, and Thanatos was running like crazy, trying to figure out where he was. His heart was beating fast, and his eyes were wide open, searching everywhere for answers. A light shone, and in front of him a beautiful forest appeared before his very eyes. Nothing moved, nothing made a sound, yet for a second, a wave of peace began to fill his heart up. He had no idea what it was or where it was coming from, but soon, his body felt light and his mind felt serene. The forest became even more quiet as a tall, elegant white buck appeared in front of him. The buck seemed to glow--his eyes were a piercing light blue, and his horns were silvery white, and they seemed to have some sort of shimmer on them.
"Thanatos."
Thanatos's eyes opened widely as he recognized the voice--it was the same voice that had called him earlier in the day. Thanatos looked at the buck, and his fur stood up, feeling chills running through out his body. He felt like crying in front of this unknown entity, as if all of his life's deeds were being brought out in his head. He saw everything--how his parents had died, how he had been found by Kuruk, Odara, that pack that had tortured Kuruk, Nova, Kiara... everything. He saw everything. He felt dizzy and lightheaded, his head was trying to grasp what was going on. However, his body reacted automatically by collapsing on the ground, whimpering in front of the white deer that hadn't stopped staring at him. He was scared, sure, but not terrified. He was scared of what was going on, of course, but not of this being. There was something about him that made Thanatos feel peace.
"Thanatos," the buck spoke, "do not fear; it is I, the Great Spirit, Elohim, that speaks unto you. I have a task for you" Thanatos looked up at the deer that had now identified himself as Elohim. He felt a strong sense of reverence before him, and he almost didn't feel worthy to be in his presence. "I am at your service," Thanatos spoke softly, trying to hold back the tears. The deer nodded and spoke once more. "Create a pack named Eden and claim these lands. I have chosen you and your family to be vessels of my glory. Be strong and courageous, my son. I'll be with you wherever you go," Thanatos's eyes filled with tears as he saw Elohim look away from him and walk somewhere else. "Wait!" Thanatos interjected, "Please, don't leave me," he pleaded, crying as if a loved one was parting from him. Elohim turned to face him once more, smiling. "I won't be going anywhere. I'll be with you always."
His eyes shot open, his heart pumped fast and hard against his chest; the sun was starting to rise as he woke up. He was confused; had this been a simple dream, or a vision? Nevertheless, it seemed real and convincing; standing up, he looked to his surroundings as a beautiful sunrise took place right before his eyes. He then made a final choice--to claim these beautiful lands as his own, for his family and for Elohim's will. He made a mental note to go and find Nova and Kiara to bring them over to their new home. Lifting his muzzle, he let out a long, deep howl, inviting others to join him in his new pack. "Come to Eden, in Tiayr, and you'll find peace."
