History: One snowy December morning, hiding somewhere in the northern region of Anikira, a small but heavily pregnant femme was struggling to give birth to her pups, but she was alone. Not because she was mateless, but because her mate had run off to find her something to calm down the horrendous pains caused by birth. The light brown femme breathed heavily, her nostrils blowing out air harshly as the overwhelming pushing sensation grasped her senses and obliged her to push. After what seemed an eternity, three beautiful, healthy pups emerged from her insides and into the world, and the light colored female was beyond ecstatic, licking her pups; two males and one female, whom she named Ayame, Caleb and Lucas. Exhaustion had begun to grip her body, until she noticed that her beloved hadn't returned from his search. She calmed herself down by wondering that maybe, just maybe, he had ventured a little bit further because he had no luck finding the white poppy plant. Maybe he was okay.
The night had settled, and the snow began to fall in more greater quantities, and still there was no sign of the love of her life. Desperation and panic gripped her body, shaking, but the little brown femme kept her pups close to her, making sure they were drinking enough milk and being warm against her. Tears began to fall from her eyes as the night was still advancing, and before she knew it, she was howling frantically. Her teal eyes desired to meet with his beautiful and unusual odd colored eyes, which were yellow and lilac. She was lost--what would she do with three pups on her own? She felt weak, nauseous and she struggled to survive the night, until she saw the sunrise. Moving the pups to the farthest point of the den, and after making sure that they were well fed, she exited the den quickly to find out where her beloved had gone to. After fifteen minutes of searching, she spotted a rusty brown figure covered with snow. Her heart began to race, and her body began to tremble when she dug the body out--it was him.
And in his foam-filled mouth, the eaten remains of a black poppy could be seen.
He had apparently mistaken the cursed plant with the white poppy that he went on to find for her. She had caused this. The female laid on top of him and screamed for an hour before returning to her pups, completely devastated. She had lost purpose in life, and she felt so, so alone and vulnerable. But it was then that she saw the moving figures of her three pups in the den once she was with them, and with tears in her eyes she decided that she would fight for them. They would become her reason to live.
As they grew up, the femme taught the three of them how to defend themselves, and taught them about herbs and the difference between the poisonous and the non-lethal ones. She taught them how to hunt and how to be wolves in such a harsh world. But there was always something... off about the mother of three, and as the pups grew up, it became more and more apparent. She would often space out and forget about her surroundings, and her grip on reality and her sanity was slowly fading away. But she kept on fighting for her pups, using them as a way to remain calm in times of harsh emotional turmoils. It was especially hard when every time Ayame opened her eyes, because she could see the embodiment of her beloved and herself, one teal eye, and one lilac eye; Caleb had yellow eyes, and Lucas had blue eyes. They all had a little bit of the two of them in each, and every time they looked at her, she could look into the eyes of her beloved. Once the pups were six months old, the mother found a small family pack in which they were allowed to join, since it was proving much more difficult to be on their own.
Ayame was the most shy of the three pups, and she was always by her mother's side, often walking close to her legs. Caleb was a fairly normal and balanced pup, and Lucas was the most mischievous and the troublemaker. They were always together, but Ayame, for some reason, was the most withdrawn from them all. Caleb was quick to become really close with her, and as time passed, their bond grew stronger. The wolves that had accepted them, however, became strict and rough as time progressed, and they would attack on sight if they saw that the pups' behaviors were out of line. Ayame's mother tried as much as she could to protect them, but these wolves were war-oriented and brutal. When Ayame was ten months old, she was talking with her brother Caleb when Lucas got into trouble by stealing the most recent hunt from the Alpha as a prank. The Alpha got incredibly furious, so much, that he ended up killing Lucas, and when the mother got in the way, he bit her in the neck and killed her as well.
Caleb ran towards the Alphas when he saw that they were coming for Ayame, but the massive ebony male used his claws and scratched Caleb's mouth, leaving the wounds he still has today. Bleeding heavily, he went to Ayame and they both escaped by hiding beneath the roots of a tree. It was in this moment that something inside of Ayame had fractured, and she began to take refuge inside of her mind. As the days passed, Ayame grew more and more distant, and the world around her began to feel hazy and strange. She started to feel numb almost daily, and her surroundings always seemed unfamiliar. She began to feel always in a cloud of uncertainty and doubt, and she couldn't grasp reality even if she desired. Ayame began to fall into a severe depression, and she is incredibly scared of wolves that are far bigger than she is. She stopped talking, even with Caleb, but he always stood there by her side. Now, at two years of age, they both roam Anikira trying to survive, and Caleb has become her caretaker and he is fiercely protective of her.
Personality: Ayame is deep, strange, and she can be compared to a labyrinth. If you dare to explore her sharp edges and every sudden turn she has in her mind, you might get lost trying to figure her out. Her face shows a false state of peace or contentment and an ongoing sweet attitude, but as you keep knowing her you understand that there is something...off about this female. The way she sometimes talks when she is depressed, talking about deep topics many others don't seem to comprehend where she gets them from, the way she suddenly stares at nothing with a blank expression, and the way she isolates herself almost constantly makes others question about her sanity--these are one of the many things that this female always hides in her seemingly sweet façade. What others don't perceive about her is that she is permanently in a dream-like state, and she cannot help but feel helpless when one of her episodes gets out of control. She prefers to hide from others in order to avoid being a heavy burden to those who try to help her, often feeling that she is only but a struggle in the lives of those who she holds dear.
She is mysterious, outwardly warm but inwardly cold, and very distant--she sometimes gets lost in the days, loosing track of time and then panicking when she feels she has wasted too much of it. She fears time--she thinks of it as her worst enemy, and she often finds herself trying to stop it in a futile attempt to... have more time. But time is the enemy of every living being, especially when an individual is hyper-aware of it. She desires to have more time with her loved ones, and has an irrational fear of loosing them. Her worst fear is to have grown old and to have lost so much time that could have been spent in things that were worthwhile, but she finds herself in the never-ending loop of wanting to save time, but at the same time, wasting so much of it by worrying too much.
When she is not experiencing these delusional episodes, Ayame is loyal, and she is very warm when she isn't in this constant delirious state. She is altruistic by nature, and even though she has a lower intolerance to stress, she will do everything she can to help someone in need. Often sharing a deeper understanding of life than others, she is great at counseling and giving a warm embrace to those who need it most. But, the most ironic fact of this enigmatic female is that she gives advice she barely puts into practice herself. Advice like "use your time wisely" and "life is short, make it worthwhile" are amongst the most used by her, but the least practiced.
She desires to find an anchor--something, someone that can bring her back into reality once she enters into the nightmarish realm of her mind. She has used her brother before as an anchor, and it has worked, but what she doesn't know is that she is tangled in the strings of her own mind. She knows, she feels, that there has to be someone that will enter the enigmatic labyrinth she built around herself, who will knock every wall down, cut every string, and bring her back into the safety of reality. One day, she will find this anchor, and for once in her life, her reality will be far more beautiful than any of her desires and dreams.
