History:Everest is a wolf born of humble beginnings. His parents were both loners, with no home, only each other. Unlike so many wolves born to Anikira, Everest’s existence was forged from love – genuine affection and understanding, and a mutual desire to start a new life and a new family together. Summit’s life began surrounded by the love of a family and pack. He grew up amongst three sisters and doting parents. He didn’t want to become the warrior his father expected, for he was gentle natured and prone to daydreams. Death stole away his kin, leaving Summit grown, but lost. He longed for a return to normalcy – the bonds of a pack, the love of a family. He sought out a pack in his early days of wandering, but soon realized that other packs were not like the one he had lost. He encountered Ryker, alpha of Descai, and his opinion about packs quickly soured. He decided instead that he would do something he had never imagined: see the world, climb snowy peaks in the winter, and meet new wolves. He traveled in the lands unclaimed by territorial brutes, never losing his zeal for life, despite the sadness. Over time, Summit learned to avoid undesirable company, making friends along the way.Katari’s origins were far from ideal, a nightmare come to life for the young female. She was the offspring of an abusive father and a mother who would abandon her and her three brothers. The males of the family were cruel and violent, and Katari was the usual scapegoat for their torment. She was an affectionate child, but her kind nature was nearly destroyed. Her only friend was a creation from her troubled mind: a male wolf named Ren, someone who would care for her and be concerned for her well-being. No one else in her life treated her as Ren did, and she leaned on the imaginary wolf for strength and comfort. It was Ren who convinced Katari to leave her fathers and brother, to pursue a new life. Finally, she would be free – free to live, free to be happy for the first time. The day was not conspicuously special, just a normal afternoon in the hills. Summit wandered through the Oriens mountain range on his own when he encountered someone similarly alone – or so it appeared to him. The she-wolf Katari was friendly, a breath of fresh air for Summit after running solo for so long. Katari claimed to be traveling with a brute named Ren, but Summit saw nothing but empty space in the direction that she addressed her ‘old friend.’ Summit thought it was strange, and he began to question Ren’s existence until it hit him: Katari was a lonely soul, and Ren had been her only comfort for a long time. He couldn’t take that away from her. They decided to travel together – Summit, Katari, and Ren, who Summit accepted as a friend of his own, though he remained unseen. Ren came and went as he pleased, announced by Katari, who was growing more comfortable every day she spent with Summit. Summit did not want to lose a friend by expressing his undeniable feelings for the fae, fearing she would run away if he was honest about his love. High in the mountains, the truth came forward: Katari had felt the same way. It was as if destiny had brought them there, and together, they would make a family of their own to care for and love.Everest’s youth was happy for the first few months of life. Summit was a natural father, retelling the story of their family with the same euphoria every time, and Katari loved the pups, as well. The smallest of the litter, a dainty femme named Ophelia, could not survive the constant wandering of her family and the health abnormalities she was born with. She was not destined to lead a long life, but the loss of the tiny pup devastated the devoted family. Katari fell into a deep depression, and though Summit tried to carry on as normal, Everest knew that something was forever changed, never to be reclaimed.Personality
Everest takes after his parents in many ways: he is kind and by nature, easy going. He is also strong and fiercely determined to live. He is an empathetic soul. From a young age, he develops a close bond toward his small family, and as a pup, Everest is affectionate, always the first to make someone laugh if they are feeling down. But he will suffer significant traumas in his youth that will affect his moods and behaviors. First, the loss of his littlest sister, to whom he was attached, will stun Everest. The subsequent death of his father crushed Everest, but he knew he had to carry on for his mother and siblings, no matter how sad he felt. He learned to keep his grief carefully hidden away, bearing the burden alone so that others don’t have to worry about his problems along with their own. From a young age, Everest must learn to be self-reliant, to protect himself and his surviving sister and brother. He is a resilient wolf. He is also practical, and after a lifetime of wandering, Everest will accept that there are times when he may do terrible things for the greater good. He will learn to fight, and while he was not born to kill, sometimes life leaves no other choices. His physique is that of a warrior, and the brute knows how to use every ounce of muscle to his advantage. He would give his life for those he loves most. Once a wolf has gained his trust, he is exceptionally loyal.Well suited for a life of traveling, it seems difficult for Everest to stay in one place for too long. The world is a big place, and he wants to see what Anikira has to offer a young, brash youth like Everest. Young curiosity could lead the boy into trouble as he learns how to maneuver in a world of packs and maniacs, but by the time he is a year old, he will be savvy about how to play the game – who to avoid, who will allow passage through their lands. While he is physically powerful and imposing, he also can appreciate a perfect sunrise or a day of laying in the warm sun. When his past looms heavy on his mind, he may disappear for a day or two as an adult to be alone, to sort through his feelings without anyone else having to see. At the end of the day, he is a wolf who doesn't seek fame or glory. He is content with good company and the freedom to do as he pleases.
