It was early, and though the light of the morning sun was slowly creeping up over the horizon, it had not yet reached the inner tunnels of the On-aldirr Crevice. It was the perfect place for the pups of Descai to start their lives, but it was not surprising that they were restless. They had yet to leave and explore their father's pack territory, and the first journey out of the darkness was led by the largest of the litter, the white prince Pharaoh. He was tired of waiting around to be led out of the den by their mother, who seemed to be dragging her feet, so today he had decided to head out on his own. The young male lifted his head slowly, yawning softly and stretching out his paws in front of him. It was not uncommon for his brothers to lay together, so this morning found him curled up next to his sister not too far away from their mother. With another slow stretch of his back legs, the prince pushed himself to his feet and looked down at his sister.
For now he would let her sleep, but as he watched her, he could not help but smile. He loved his siblings, even at such a young age. They were his family, and he knew that they were the future of their father's pack. The twins, not actually twins, were nearly inseparable, but he had still managed to at least somewhat bond with them. He glanced over at the two similar looking males for a moment before sighing softly and turning away from the little family. Today was a new day, and a new opportunity. It took him a little while to wander his way through the cavern and out into the open, but by the time he reached the big wide world, the sun had illuminated most of the island. He did not know this, of course, but he could see everything around him and the brightness made him narrow his eyes and blink uncomfortably.
It took him a few minutes to adjust to his new surroundings, but unfortunately, he was not given enough time to figure out where he was and what was around him. A noise in the nearby bushes made him jump, his tail arching instinctively over his back and his ears perking in the direction of the noise and movement. A soft puppy growl rumbled in his throat as he crouched, stalking slowly towards the bush and the source of the sound. Sure, it probably was not the smartest idea in the world, but he was young and naive and would learn eventually. It took him only about a minute to reach the bush, and with a ferocious snarl - at least he thought so - he leaped blindly into the leaves and came crashing down on the intruder. He hit soft fur, and an even softer belly. But there was a mild hardness to it that could only be described as a youth that was probably a bit too skinny for their own good. His attack received a squeak and a vibrating grumble from the target, and he was suddenly rolled to the side and got a mouthful of leaves as he cried out in protest.
He scrambled to his feet quickly, another terrifying puppy growl exploding from his muzzle as he turned on his foe. But, as his blue eyes fell on their target, he sat down and tilted his head. "What are you?" He asked, showing off his big mouth and lack of proper filter. Perhaps a wolf that was more intelligent or slightly older would have asked who they were instead of what, but he simply did not know better. Yet. He did not receive an answer, instead the creature leaped at him, pinning him down easily under her larger feline form. They were likely about the same age, but because of her lineage compared to his, she was a bit bulkier and stronger right now. He growled in frustration and surprise, but he lost track of where they were as her play attack rolled them out of the bushes and back to the front of the caverns.
