Traveling alone, a creature of shadow and light passed through the unclaimed territories surrounded by pack lands on all sides. The tall grass shifting and barely making noise as she slowly made her way into a land that she long forgotten. The warmer air, compared to all other areas that is, filled the creature's lungs as she took a deep breathe, smelling the freshly disturbed grass and the prey that passed through.
Not realizing how hungry she was until the scent hit her, Skye lowered her body til her stomach nearly touched the ground as she looked through the blades of tall grass to see a young buck not too far off. A growl left her throat the longer she watched him, until she sprung from the ground to find the buck was not alone. An older, weaker doe rested not far from him. She, too, sprung from her bed as they took off, the creature not far behind.
It took a few minutes before she caught up to the doe, who started falling behind the buck. Her meal took her longer than she wanted, but the end result was quick as she dug her canines into the doe's throat, cutting her air off.
Looking around, she tried to find a quiet place away from possible seeking eyes could find her freshly caught meal. She noticed though, that trees were never really bunched up in the right pattern, so she decided a nice tall patch of grass would do as she drug her meal from one spot to another, crouching down far enough to seem not so tall as she tried to feast.

"In the east, below the mountains, the lands are free for loners, which means they are free to us, as well. If you do go, though, please be careful.”
The Chieftan's words rang in Silver's flicking ears. Morrigan, one of Ananke's alphesses, had been strangely absent recently, and the silver huntress had noticed Nimue taking over her sister's duties. Although she was aware of this, Silver had not thrown herself into the fray of things, instead preferring to live a relatively solitary life for a pack wolf although she still did as was expected of her in Ananke.
Mulling over the pack's predicament, Silver entered the lands of I'queyer into the unclaimed half of Chamoru Plains. Would it not be hard to claim the rest of the hunting grounds? Prey was plentiful there, although it could be worse; Silver still had access to the entire plains, just not full authority as a pack member.
Instinctively, the Hunter's body stiffened at the scent of prey. Deft paws and a sharp mind carried the femme closer to the aroma's source. Silver padded softly forwards, her senses alert for movement. She knew that Duarte would be faithfully behind her, ready to spit deadly venom into the unsuspecting - the she-wolf paused, drinking in the scent to determine her victim's sex - doe.
However, contrary to what the grey-and-silver female had expected, she saw a mottled black and white pelt, strikingly similar to Morrigan's. The stupid loner was taking her prey - the doe was rightfully Silver's! Cursing herself for not detecting the female's scent in the air, Silver could do nothing but watch the female steal the huntress' catch. Silver signaled to Duarte to not attack but follow and remain low and then guided her snake towards the primarily black femme who was moving with the doe to a secluded patch of tall grass. An icy coolness seemed to spread throughout Silver's body as she cocked her head and gazed at the other hunter. She had dark yellow eyes, so resemblant of Emerald that it brought a silent scowl to Silver's maw. A twitch of the tail told Duarte to slither forwards along with Silver as she made herself shown.
"Hello there," Silver announced, noticing the significant difference in size between the two wolves. "Mind sharing that doe?"
Although her words were not hostile and Silver attempted a calm, collected tone, she suspected that some venom might have leaked into her invasive words due to her jealousy at the other wolf's - no, Silver's - catch. Only a few bites were taken when eyes were felt, barely ruffling fur. The creature however did not acknowledge it until a voice made her jump slightly. Turning slightly, her dark body hiding her already-partial feast from the new approach, her eyes grew wide with fear as she dropped to the ground slightly, her chest only inches from the hooves of her meal. This approach was larger than she was, and seemed to be more of a threat than others she had come across.
When she inhaled, the other creature's scent hit her, and she knew why. Pack. This was a pack wolf. If this was a pack's land, she truly had not meant to intrude. She would even leave the way she was, hunger barely eased as her stomach rumbled ever-so-softly. She let her eyes drift slightly toward the doe before taking a few steps away. She knew her hopeful silent feast would be no more.
"You can finish if you would like." Her voice was soft, softer than the grey-silver creature's before her. She would even be surprised if the other had heard her at all. Skye knew that when she was in fear, her voice was almost none existent whenever she talked. Especially when she was approached by a pack wolf of any ranking. Wanting to take a few more steps back, the creature fought her own instincts to stay where she was in hopes to maybe snatch a few more bites of her catch before slinking off in silence, one of the few things she was used to doing. As well as one of the few things she never really liked to do. But it always seemed to be her luck to come across others that would want her meal, making it hard for her to eat her fill at one time. Hence why she normally strayed away from the plains with much larger hunts than those of other places with smaller, quicker meals.

In response to the female's submissive reply, Duarte gave a satisfied hiss of approval and snaked his way forwards, followed by his calmer owner. To show that Silver had the upper hand in the situation, she took a generous bite, widening her hungry mouth as far as it would go in order to taste as much succulent flesh as possible. The lifeless doe was not particularly tasty but the largest huntress present chewed regardless, silently praising herself for getting a meal that she did not catch. Once the tender meat had slid down Silver's gullet, she signaled for Duarte to help himself and then confronted the smaller femme.
"What's your name?" Although it was phrased like a question, Silver said it like a command. There was no punishment for not answering, but hopefully her tone would assert that the question would not be avoided in the first place. To further show her control, Silver refrained from offering her own name, instead awaiting the stranger's response first.
During the time that it had taken for Silver to ask her question and regard the smaller wolf with a demanding gaze, Duarte had retreated back towards his owner, eying the multihued inconnu with the same cool intensity. Nodding towards the corpse, Silver said, "Share with me. There's plenty to go around. Duarte will have some too."
Dipping her silver-specked muzzle again, Silver took another bite, this time not as large as her first. She watched the other female, observing her actions. Intrigued by her, Silver enquired one last thing. "Where is your family? Your pack?"
The blue-and-gold-eyed Ananke Hunter strongly suspected that this was a loner, but she wanted to know who she was talking to. She would be more in control of the slightly unusual encounter if she knew these little things, and she did not want to be at the mercy of some pathetic little loner. A powerful, intelligent wolf perhaps, but she would not allow such a skimpy little thing as this fae to affect Silver. A small rumbled filled Skye's chest as she lowered herself even further to the ground, almost as if she was to lay down. All she dared to do was let the small rumble leave her closed muzzle, making sound like a whine as she watched. Her own saliva filled her mouth and the back of her throat, making the next one sound more of a growl, though it was not her intentions.
When she heard the sound leave her throat, she quickly looked up at the creature now at the meal, before she realized a question had been asked. "The n...name is Skye." She stumbled upon her words slightly when she regained enough mind to speak, but when she said her own name, she couldn't help but lift her head high. Why she was so proud of her name, when she knew it barely fit her, she never knew. Never really would. Why would an Outsider, low-ranked ex-packed, lone wolf like herself be so proud of a name she did not find worthy of having?
The sky itself was endless in possibilities, but the creature, one constantly filled with fear, had very limited ones. She was not bold and stand out like the sun on a good summer day. She the dark, timid wolf that always stands to the back of the pack during wars the way the moon hides its face in the dark shadows. But one thing she did know though, if there was one thing she truly shared with the sky itself, she would not let things slide. She could be a storm on a winter night.
When the creature allowed her to return to her feast, a growl slowly emerged from her throat as she raised herself again to stalk silently toward her spot again. Even when she had to avoid the snake that feasted on the doe as well. She managed to yank a few large chunks of meat from the meal before taking a few steps away to feast on it, eyes on the others.
The last series of questions to leave the grey-silver's muzzle, was one accompanied by a growl of the darker creature. Skye didn't want to respond aside from the growl she let escape, didn't want to speak of her so-called family or the fact she was a low-rank loner. Yea, she was a loner, but she wanted to be. She had to grown not-so-fond of packs. Especially ones that pushed her around like an unwanted creature, but she wasn't going to tell this one that.
"And what do you go by?" She dared herself to ask, the previous growl lingering slightly as she licked her laps clean.

[attr="class","pltxt"]To Silver's rarely shown amusement, the stranger appeared to become irritated and growl at the larger huntress. Multihued irises sparkled with humour at the miniscule canine but still they awaited an answer. Thankfully, a satisfactory answer was promptly given.
"The n...name is Skye," the mottled fae stammered, her anger seeming to dissipate into fear.
Silver tested the name on her lips; "Skye. Pretty. Dainty. Your name suits a small wolf like you."
After Silver's commanding invitation to eat, Skye growled and stalked forwards, pursuing the bereft of life deer lying stock still upon Chamoru Plains' grass. Although she had mentioned sharing, Silver did not follow suit, instead watching the other femme, intrigued by this entirely different life, one probably just as complex and as deep as Silver's own. The smaller being started tearing chunks of meat off before facing Silver's other question with a deep-throated growl. That was strange. Skye had not deflected Silver's previous questions or commands.
"What's wrong? I can tell you of my pack if you like. Maybe... Maybe even my family." But before Silver could continue to tell a little about her, Skye enquired the Ananke Hunter about her name. "Hm. I was hoping to avoid that question, little one," Silver began, using a moniker that might have better suited herself if it was little as in age, "But since you have answered all of my questions, it would only be common courtesy to respond to yours.
"My name is a silly, obvious thing, given to me by some petty, overly attached mother. I have disowned her now; I do not wish to be affiliated with such an idiot in any way. My name, if it was not made obvious by my coat, is Silver. And as for my family, as I promised to tell you about... I had- I have a sister who I have not seen in a long time. She is beautiful, although small. Her name was Mint, and she was feisty... She's done nothing wrong, so I tried to care for her, care for her where my stupid mother could not, but I have left... I also had a brother. He was enormous, far larger than me—the size difference between us is less than between me and him, in fact. I do not miss him but neither do I hold anything against him.
"Now I am in a pack called Ananke. It is not as stupid as my birth pack; my birth pack thought that all females were supreme and males worthless, those self-indulged idiots. Ananke values the strength of its individual members, judging them not for their gender or some predetermined variable but rather their true worth." Suddenly, Silver's eyes began to gleam slightly as she had an idea. "Say... You appear to be a loner. Would you be interested in joining a pack? Namely Ananke, perhaps?" notes: Turns out that Silver kept quite a few feelings bottled up XD tagged:Skye word count: 521 muse: Good

Listening to the creature Silver, Skye's muscles kept twitching. To her, the creature seemed proud of who she is and where she resides now, even of some of her family. Especially this Mint creature.
"Now, I do not see why your name would be such a silly thing, for it does say much. Silver can be not only for the color of your coat." Skye tilted her head slightly, in slight amusement. "Your maiden may have been overly attached, but there may have also been a meaning behind your name that she had not realized."
Not much of a wolf, but a wise thing, Skye let a small smile shine in her eyes as she let words run through her head. She wasn't real intelligent when it came to other wolves, but thanks to being on her own, she found other ways to keep her mind busy. Especially when she was always allowing memories to flood through her. Even those of all the packs she went through growing up, which soon collided with Silver's last question.
"Join Ananke? Join a pack?" Skye's eyes grew wide as her voice became a soft growl. "A pack is the last thing I really need, fore I have not had very pleasant experiences with the ones I was ever in. But now, if you can prove otherwise, that I will not be treated with hostility, nor will I remain an Omega, set off to the side, then I may consider."
Flashes of her last pack enjoying them selves, through glares and growls at her, every creature snapping at her when she seeked a feast. A shudder ran across her spine, making her shiver a few times before she corrected herself with a shake of her head. The less this creature knew, the better it was in Skye's mind, but she may have already spoken a little too much.

"Now, I do not see why your name would be such a silly thing, for it does say much. Silver can be not only for the color of your coat. Your maiden may have been overly attached, but there may have also been a meaning behind your name that she had not realized."
In response to the strange words, Silver arched an invisible brow, wondering what the femme meant by 'a meaning behind your name that she had not realized'. "Then it would not be a meaning, no? If it had a subconscious attachment then it is an attachment, not a meaning. Meanings are assigned consciously and immediately."
After they had idly talked without threat for a while, Silver felt that she had no need to fear Skye or her intentions and seated herself in front of the hunted doe. The latter wolf obviously had no hostile intentions, although she did come off as a bit rude in Silver's opinion, not that she cared. As the black and white fae responded to Silver's pack-joining offer, telling the larger femme of how she did not wish for a pack currently, the younger huntress took a bite out of the half-eaten animal, chewing slowly as she took in Skye's words. After a slight pause, Silver responded.
"Almost all of us in Ananke came from a pack where we were unhappy. We have only recently been founded, coming together to fix the mistakes made by previous alphas. To make up for injustice. We all have a say and we are all respected, regardless of gender or age or appearance or anything that you may have been judged by previously. We all have a role so nobody feels or is useless and we make use of what we have. We are courteous to our members and treat them as wolves, not as mere playthings. Obviously, it is your choice, but I think that anyone who has experienced prejudice or inequality in any form beforehand should join Ananke to see what freedom is like."
Although Silver was talking about Ananke, she was subconciously thinking of how Ananke filled in everything that Valyn was missing, a silent bubble of hatred for her natal pack growing inside of Silver. Once her speech was finished, the female took another bite of meat. notes: Silver: Ananke Propaganda™ words: 405 tags:Skye

Listening silently, Skye tilted her head, letting Silver's words sink in. "Freedom." The word quietly slipped from her muzzle. It was a word that she had forever longed to have. One would have thought that as a loner, a creature would have all the freedom they longed to have, but they never realized that there are a lot more limitations. One could not wander most places, and they were always free bait to a pack. If they were not careful, their feasts were not safe. Neither was the creature itself. In reality, they were no where near as safe as a pack wolf.
Though Skye didn't really care for being a lone wolf, she knew her boundaries, and she knew she had to watch herself around others. One wrong move, and she would be more than likely done for.
Blinking a few times to clear the thoughts from her head, she refocused her attention back to Silver. "And how can I trust what you say?" A look of not only confusion but concern as well crossed the creature's face. She wasn't sure if she could trust the huntress or not, but she was beginning to think she may as well. She did seem at least a little nicer than the other wolves that had crossed her path. Yea, some were nice as well, but their packs turned to be the complete opposite, while others were hostile from the beginning. The more she really thought about it though, she thought why not give it at least a try. Maybe they wouldn't keep her as the low-ranker, never to grow any in ranks. Maybe Silver wasn't lying about it, so why not give it a try? She could easily leave if she wanted to, couldn't she? She had several times despite the orders from all other Alphas. The ones she was forced to bow down to, hence her current state of mind. The mind of an Omega.

[attr="class","pltxt"]Confusingly, Skye's seemingly deeply rooted disdain towards pack life seemed to vanish so suddenly. Sure, Silver's speech was intended to dissipate some of Skye's irrational concerns, but Silver had not expected Skye to change her outlook on Ananke so suddenly and fully. However, the loner had one more question, and quite a sensible one at that.
"And how can I trust what you say?"
Silver's shoulders rolled in a helpless shrug, having no crystal clear way of proving her alleged honesty. "Well, first of all, I can take you there and you can see for yourself. I have not made any advances on you so you should be comfortable with me, and I assure you that if for some wild reason in hell my own pack turn against me, I will defend you. Not to say that you're too weak to defend yourself, but just an assurance of my own loyalty." Silver was not undyingly loyal to anyone or anything and would easily defend herself and what she believed was right if she had to, including against her own pack that she appreciated so much. "And if the fact that I am friends with a snake, us wolves' natural prey, does not reflect that my pack and I are peaceful creatures then I do not know what will." If this Skye was too stubborn then Silver would not bother. She would leave and return to Aveline so as to not waste her time, but if she could get a new member for her new pack—one that seemed like a decent hunter too, despite her taking the doe for her own; after all, she was willing to share her catch which was a fundamental trait of hunters—then Silver did not see why not.
Looking down at Duarte, she nudged her salmon-and-black cobra with her nose to tell him that feasting was over. "If you like, then we can go now." notes: I thought that maybe we could end this here and then take it over to Aveline to take a peep, unless if Skye says no and wants to stay here a lil longer?
