CAUTION: ANIMATED TABLE!
Somewhat of a jumpscare!
Somewhat of a jumpscare!
It was a rather odd thing for Taranis to find himself in the falls. He had grown accustomed to being in dark places for most of his puphood, but even the dark brute needed some fresh air every now and then. Taranis had grown up quite a lot in the past few months, and his size was considerably large--larger than his family, even, with the exception of his father, Sabaoth. His face still seemed young, but Taranis's mind was never in sync with his body. For some reason, the black brute's feelings got colder as time passed by.
One of the things that had fascinated Taranis ever since his father spoke harshly to Liadan when they were pups, were the power of words. He had observed how much his father had affected Liadan's demeanor, and even if she tried to handle her fear it was still apparent in her pale green eyes. Since that moment, Taranis began to listen quietly to conversations, and tried to understand the reactions that he saw. He observed how words were more powerful than any type of physical damage, because for some reason, it made the wolves weak. It made them... vulnerable.
Taranis sat down, looking at the soft movements of the waves that the waterfall caused upon impacting the waters. His icy eyes were locked on the thunderous waters as the wind moved the grass that surrounded him. Even if the waterfall was noisy, the place was silent. Taranis's ears moved backwards when he heard a noise behind him; he saw a fox, a small one, eating something from the ground. He wasn't aware of the black menace behind him, which gave Taranis the opportunity to attack without the fox knowing.
Standing quietly, he took each step with cold precision and strategy. He did not want to startle the critter; he needed it for a few things that were clouding his mind, and he was also due for a meal. The fox kept eating, facing away from Taranis, with no clue that he was about to have a painful death. His shadow loomed over the creature, making him turn around and scream in fear, but it was too late--Taranis grabbed him by the neck, drawing blood but not fatally enough to kill it in the spot.
He walked to where he was originally and placed the fox in front of him. The small critter was weak and could not flee for his life, since the blood loss was slowly making him wither away. Taranis stood in front of the fox as he looked at him with a stone cold expression in his face, yet his heart was racing with the sudden surge of adrenaline. "I do not know if you understand me," he spoke firmly before continuing, "but how does it feel to know that your short, worthless existence is coming to an end in this very moment?" The fox looked at him and tears began to form in its eyes, looking at Taranis as if he had seen a monster.
And, second by second, Taranis saw how the life of the fox flew away like a bird returning to its nest. Taranis then tore open its flesh and began to eat the victim. His maw began to fill up with blood, and after a while he had finished devouring his prey. Going to the waters in front of him, he dipped his maw and used his front paws to remove the blood that stained his ivory snout, and sat down, quietly observing the scenery as silence took place once more, as if nature had been a witness of a monster waking up from its sleep.
Quinn I'm excited for them!
