History:Born to Alpha and Beta power couple Aziel and Daeva respectively, on a remote Greek island unknown to mankind, Takoda was given a premium ticket to life from birth as the leading wolves' eldest pup. He was set to rule the powerful pack known as Exousía, the long-running band of warriors infamous on the island for its strength and reputation of bringing powerful fighters into the world. They had already taken over most of the island and an heir to the throne of power was yet another addition to their path of domination.
Aziel and Daeva initially treated Takoda like a prince, seeing to his every need and want and whim. The whole pack did until it became apparent that something was different about this chocolate brown brute. He would often stumble into things and lose most of the playfights with his siblings despite words of advice and encouragement from his elders, rousing suspicion as to whether or not he was cursed by the gods.
Sumati, Exousía's Shaman, tested the large whelp and came to the conclusion that there was something wrong with his vision. Further experimentation led to Takoda being diagnosed by Sumati with partial blindness and a prediction of him going fully blind within his lifetime. Aziel, Takoda's father and Exousía's Alpha, was shocked by this and snapped at his son, attempting to kill the bad omen. Terrified, Takoda ran from Exousía's lands.
He remained in hiding for a few days before Daeva found him and punished her eldest son for running away. She clawed his eyes, blinding him fully and permanently, and the scars remained there for almost a year afterwards before clearing away with no visual hint to his loss of eyesight.
When Takoda returned to Exousía, he was heavily shunned and ignored. Considered a curse and burden, any toe out of line was promptly punished with fighting. This shaped Takoda into the strong warrior that he is today with all of the practice, but surprisingly it did not touch his sweet demeanour.
Eventually, Takoda decided that he did not want so many scars so he left Exousía and roamed the island that he was born on, avoiding his natal pack's territory. It was then that he learnt to fend for himself, becoming a sufficient hunter and reinforcing what healing knowledge he had picked up from Sumati.
It was Daeva yet again who pursued Takoda, seeking him out to imprison the now-two-year-old. With his skills in battle, Takoda fought back, effectively driving away Daeva without harming her, despite the scratch marks lining his pelt from his mother's own assault.
At that moment, Takoda knew that he could not stay any longer; he did not want to live in fear of Exousía coming to kill him or worse. It might have been sentencing himself to death for all he cared, but death would have been better than this lonely, useless existence. Ignoring the stinging in his recent wounds, Takoda leapt off of the cliff that the fight had occurred on and landed in the ocean, swimming southwest for what seemed like forever.
And then, like a miracle only seen in fiction, there was land, sweet land. A cliff face lay in front of Takoda and, without hesitation, he climbed it, despite every aching muscle and lungs screaming for a break.
Personality:Despite being mistreated as a youth for his blindness, Takoda turned out sweet and kind. He is friendly and charismatic, outgoing and likeable. Although he seeks company, he does not seek attention, but rather simply enjoys the pleasant art of friendship.
To accompany this, Takoda is loyal to the bone—although he is gentle and prefers to avoid conflict, he would be willing to fight for his loved ones if their lives or some equivalent was threatened. Never would he sway in his love or devotion for his own gain. Should he have a reason other than his own selfish desires then he is not bound by wolves but rather morality, however he would not be one to abandon others for no reason other than himself.
Always seeing hope, the Mackenzie Valley wolf is optimistic. He has a tendency to look on the bright side and ignore the cons of something, often underestimating the risk and negatives of actions and situations. Despite generally overlooking the bad, he is not ignorant towards the evil in the world, simply preferring to bask in the warmth of his cheerful outlook on life.
Takoda is a chivalrous gentleman, always courteous towards females and never picking fights with them. He is not necessarily submissive, simply highly respectful and protective of them, seeing them as the first to be defended and as the gender that should not be on the battlefield. Neither is he prejudiced against males—he respects and honours them as well, simply believing in the roles of protector and protected.
As a result of having been blind for his entire life, Takoda has a sharp sense of smell, hearing, taste, and touch. He is far more perceptive to sensual information than the average wolf, this skill aiding him and filling in what his nonexistent eyesight could not. Contrary to what the blindness might tell a stranger, Takoda is skilled in battle from this sensitivity to outside stimuli, able to calculate moves and positions of the opponent far better than visually able wolves.
