Social obligations were something Jotun had never understood. They simply… existed without any sort of rhyme or reason, it seemed. There was no logic behind them, and yet everyone agreed upon them wordlessly such that those who were somehow not “in the know” were at a loss. If something was such a big deal, one would think it would be told to everyone, without expecting that they just know about it.
The dark wolf tried to remain apprised of all of these pesky, “understood” rules. And somehow, one dictated that the return of a wolf after an event such as what had happened to Aesir be a public affair, not a private one. And so the male set off in search of the other wolves to allow them to welcome him back and feel as though they were contributing something. Otherwise he might be thought of as rude or antisocial.
And so, with that goal in mind, he searched the rest of the pack out, walking around the places it was most likely that other Aesir wolves would be. He knew from Valdís that quite a few had made it to Anikira and regrouped on this small island. And as he had the chance to see more of the island, he had to admit he liked it. It was very different from their previous home in landscape and climate, but it was a welcome change. Anikira had such a diverse terrain.
Approaching a puddle, the male sat to take a drink and a small rest. Walking was not overly tiresome, nor did his leg hurt, but it was a bit more effort than he was used to expending to walk at the pace he was comfortable with. He lapped at the water, listening and smelling for any sign of an approaching wolf.
