It was time. Freya could feel it in the air around her, could feel it deep within her bones. Gone was the chill of winter and in it's place was the beginnings of the warmth of spring. Freya had risen especially early in order to grab the appropriate incenses. Rose petals would be needed, as well as violet flowers which led her deep within the forest. It was a calming time for the ivory gythya. The past couple of weeks hadn't been easy for her. With the disappearance of her mate came the difficulty of dealing with her emotions, as well as being angry at the gods for allowing her to experience such pain. Any of the visions she received did not pertain to her mate however.. They simply led her in the direction that she needed to go in to be able to lead the pack together in a time of celebration. Which is exactly what today was. She had received a vision of herself doing this very ceremony, which was a sign that she needed to get her wits about her. She had a job to do as shaman here in Othala and she could not neglect her duties. Even now she could recall her conversation with the ever serious Sazio. He had given her the information she needed and it would ultimately help her move on. Today was a new day and a day of renewal. She moved surprisingly quick, her limbs carrying her to the solitary rose bush she had singled out months prior. There was one rose that was in full bloom and she carefully plucked it from the bush, careful to avoid the thorns while doing so. On her way back she found a few violet flowers in clusters and grabbed a mouthful of them. The other supplies were simple, an orange peel, some charcoal. These things she had found with deep searching, but had saved in her den for this very day.
She made her way back through the woods, flowers in her maw as she stepped towards the altar. She put the petals gently on the altar, placing them around the circle and strewing them on the ground. She saved the clusters of violets to be worn on herself as well as the other pack members. She had a bit of nutmeg and frankincense in order to cast the circle, but for now she waited. She tilted her muzzle back, her vocal chords ringing out across the territory. It was early, but it was the perfect time for this particular gathering. The birds could be heard singing a beautiful song in the background and Freya found it to be comforting. Come Othala members as we celebrate Ostara! She called out before sitting on her haunches before the alter. She carefully grabbed a few more petals and laid them all across the ground, leaving open spots between flowers for each member to sit. Now it was a waiting game, eventually everyone would come. Freya found she wasn't even anxious. Although this was her first ceremony she felt in her heart that she was made to do this.
notes: Ostara ceremony, whoo! We will get into the actual ceremony once everyone arrives and sorry its late *cringes*
