Tossing out the garbage

Raisa

{ I } Light tan paws pushed the female on, making her go even though it was hard. She didn't feel able to go on and it was dragging at her very soul. The soft red tinted fur behind her ears were plastered with pus and around her ears was crud from the dirt leaking out mixed with the pus. Once more she was sick and it was due to her ears. The female ducked under a low beam and leaped over an old board that had rusty nails sticking up into the air. The black, red, and tan female moved into the shadows and picked up the pace a little, her head hanging low as she moved towards a ruined building.

{ II } The stone building was almost leveled, but it was getting dark and it was the closest thing to a shelter around. The female went nervously over to a low part of the wall and growled softly to try and give warning to anyone else in the darkness. When her infected ears heard nothing, the female jumped lightly over. Instead of landing lightly, she crumpled to the pain in pain as her cries rose in the air. A rusty nail had gone right through the main paw on her front right paw. She yelped as the female got to her three feet and then lurched forward some into the dark, the nail still in her paw. Blood dripped from the head onto the ground as she moved over to a soot covered blanket.

{ III } Her muzzle dipped low to snatch it up in her mouth and she shook it a few times, yelping every time her hurt paw had to help hold her up. After a few good shakes, the female dragged it back a little ways into a little corner by where she had come in. The wall was halfway down with the roof at a perfect angle to still be held up by the broken wall giving her a shelter and now something other than mud to rest on. After dragging it under the fallen roof, she crawled in and turned around to face the opening and then laid down. Very carefully she began to lick her wound and try to nurse the nail out of her paw. Spring would soon be here, that was at least a good thing. She was getting lightheaded and very tired, but worked on the nail until it came out of her wounded paw. The female laid her head on the blanket, panting and drop dead tired now.

The moon shown down on the land, kissing the surfaces of the earth and her creatures. A lone figure lay passed out on the ground, the only movement to show it was alive being the steady rising and sinking of it's chest. And then, an ear twitched, followed by some movement by a paw. Eyelids fluttered open to reveal two stormy grey eyes, and as they adjusted to the darkness the figure began to get to her feet.

"Ern..." 'Now where am I? What happened?' Crise looked around her, trying to find anything that would jog her memory. The broken buildings, rusted metal, and deserted landscape did nothing to give her a clue, however, and she let out a quiet sigh. It was almost always this way whenever she woke up from a fainting spell. At least this time she knew what her name was, though she had no clue about her location or how she'd gotten there.

Walking foreward, she began to explore the area. Maybe she could find someone that could help her remember something, or at least keep her company. Crise hated being alone. Every shattered building she passed on the baren landscape proved to provide her with a fruitless search, though. She found no one seeking shelter in the abandoned science post, and the light evening breeze refused to bring her the scents of any strangers.

And then something unusual caught her nose. The fae turned her delicate snout towards the sky and sniffed. Yes, that scent was unmistakable; it was blood. Curious, and a little fearful, Crise decided to find the source of the smell. If she were lucky, maybe she'd find an easy meal. Of course, there was always the chance whatever was wounded wasn't prey at all and was actually something ready to injure or kill the unsuspecting wolf. That didn't stop her though.

The scent brought her to the low, shattered wall of one of the decaying buildings. Careful not to injure herself, she rose up onto her hind legs and rested her front paws on the fractured stone. Her gray eyes peered into the darkness as her slim head searched left and right for anything that looked like it was alive. Now that she was closer to the source of the scent, she could tell it was wolven. Her ears were pricked foreward, hope held in her voice as she called into the darkness. "Hellooo! Is anyone there? Are you alright?"

Raisa

{ I } The sound of another creature reached her messed up ears and she flicked them back as the sound just stopped. A low growl left her as she crawled slowly out of her rubble shelter. It was slow because of her hurt paw and the grey wolf stood tall even though she was small for being a grey wolf. Being the runt had made her smaller than the others of the same litter. In the darkness, her eyes were able to spot a wolf halfway on the stone wall that she had jumped just a few hours ago. "If you jump that wall watch out, those nails are hard to remove from a paw."

{ II } Tan paws moved forward and she painfully limped towards the other female. Her ears remained back against the soft red fur behind them. They smelled from the infection, but hopefully they would clear up soon. The smell was nasty and it had been like this for a few days already. "Stupid siblings, I hate being the runt..." Her words were small and mumbled as she moved over to the low wall, only this time she was careful about where her paws landed. Brown eyes looked up in the darkness at the one who stood. She sat down on the cold ground and her tail curled over her back paw while she looked at her.

{ III } After resting her right paw on the front pads of her paw, her voice left to the other again. "No one other than myself is here. I checked before entering. As for if I am alright, yes and no. Those foul nails caught my paw and went through it, but the place is mostly quiet. Why may I ask are you here?" She stopped there and waited, the female's questions now had an answer and her own answer was now in the air for her to reply. "Called Raisa, yourself?" In the darkness I couldn't tell much, but her coat seemed to be lighter and she had a little bit of an older look to her. That was not difficult though as I was not yet two years, but soon I would be. Brown eyes split the darkness as I remained watching her, waiting for a reply or movement from her.

Catching a hint of motion, the femme's expression instantly brightened. Her tail wagged and a smile crossed her maw as she watched the stranger move closer. Company was always a good for Crise, especially right after she awoke from a blackout. "Wasn't planning to, but thanks for the warning!" she called back cheerily, eyes searching for any defining features in the dark that would help her better identify the femme.

At the word 'runt,' her auds couldn't help the twitch. The word had been spoken low, and she'd missed the context in which it was used. 'Runt' was something she was very familar with though, which is probably why its mumbled tone hadn't failed to escaped her sharp hearing. 'What's wrong with being a runt?' Her bushy tail paused in its back and forth motion, her mind reflecting silently over the question. Crise herself was a runt, not even reaching the minimun standard height for the Mexican breed. She couldn't really recall a time when size was a major disadvantage though... Then again, she spent so much of her life either blacked out or without her memory that she probably wouldn't remember any minor circumstances that had been affected by her height.

She was pulled out of her thoughts when the stranger appeared to be sitting in front of her. In the faint moonlight she could make out the darker pelt of the femme, but that was about it. She had no clue to the size or age of the stranger, her own awkward standing postion giving her a height advantage for once. Wagging her tail again, her head cocked to the side as she listened.

"That's terrible news," she returned solemnly, wincing at the mention of the nail piercing the strangers paw. She could only imagine what that had felt like, but her imagination told her it was a horrible sensation. Her cheery tone was back with her next words, however, and her tongue snuck out to lick her nose for a second before she continued. "M'names Crise. That's really all I know at the moment though... I have absolutely no idea where I am or how I got here."

A bitter chuckle escaped her maw at her last words, but it was the only waver in her generally happy exterior. Crise never was fond of the fact that she often lost her memory. It was too troublesome, complicating her life in so many ways she couldn't count them if she wanted too. Still, now that she'd found a bit of company things would be looking better for a while, at least until she blacked out again anyways. Crise was a social creature, and having any sort of company was enough to pick her mood up instantly.

{ I } She nodded silently at her words. Jumping onto a foul nail is no fun at all. Her words had been solemn so at least she had not laughed. The grey wolf watched her in the darkness as she spoke again. Crise, that is kind of an odd name, but how is that all she knows? How does she know nothing about what her life once was or if she had been a mother before? She shifted herself, wincing some when she had to put her hurt paw against the ground just to shift her weight to be a little more at ease. Her right paw lifted back up to only the front pads of her paw as she looked at her wondering. The chuckle was even more confusing, she laughed at not being able to remember? Now how does that work?

{ II } Brown eyes remained on the older female before she tried to think of something in which to reply. Her words were kind of weak and confused. "I hope you don't think this as rude, but how is it only your name you know?" She paused there before thinking over her question and gave Crise a weak grin. "I guess that was kind of a dumb question to ask, sorry. Anyway, are you hungry? I didn't see any large game when I showed up, but I did catch the scent of some rabbits if you want to go and hunt them down." Although a little hungry herself, she was more tired than wanting to chase down a rabbit.

{ III } If Crise wanted to get some food, then of course Raisa would go with. A wounded paw would either kill her or just set her back like her foul ears. The female shifted her paws again to have more weight on her right front pads to held keep from tiring her other leg to much right off. She wanted to be able to get up and go if she had to. Her tail went from over her paw to the other side of her and back a few times before curling up over her left paw as she laid down on the ground to lick her paw clean. It had gotten some dirt in it and unlike her ears, she could keep her paw clean at least.

"Rude no, but dumb very," she answered with a laugh. She wasn't trying to be mean or anything; she just found Raisa's question a little absurd. "If all I know is my name, obviously I'm not going to know the reason why all I know is my name. The last thing I remember is waking up after a long period of darkness... Before that, I don't know what I was doing or where I was headed." Despite the silly, amused grin on her maw, a sigh escaped with her words. She didn't really like not knowing anything about herself. And if her name was anything to judge by, well, being named "crisis" wasn't exactly a comforting thought. "I'm sure I'll remember eventually though. I have an odd feeling this has happened to me before."

It was true. Crise's instincts often hinted that the amount of time she spent memory-less was not an uncommon occurance. Leaning foreward more, her stomach pressed against the stone wall as her hind paws took a few steps foreward. Her forelegs now rested on the craggly top of the wall, paws lazily drapping over with their pads barely brushing the other side. Her ears were pointed towards her conversation partner, intently listening to her words. Her insticts were also telling her that something involving running would not be the best idea at the moment.

With a smile, Crise cocked her head to the side. "I must have eaten before I forgot everything, cause I'm not really hungry at all. Besides, you don't look much up to a hunt. Not with a bloody paw anyway. You should stay off it for a bit." Her grey eyes flicked over the body of the younger femme, and everything she saw confirmed her statements, at least in her mind. A bloody paw needed rest. And in all truth the poor dear look rather exhausted. 'Right now is definately no time for a hunt.'

Granted, Crise wasn't exactly one hundred percent happy in her decision to refuse catching some food. She wasn't hungry, but the thought of meat was always tantalizing. Subconsciously her tongue slipped out from between her teeth, the pink organ gliding over her lips and nose for a brief second before retreating back into its cave.

When she realized her thoughts were drifting, she shook her head as a way to refocus. Her attention settled back onto the young femme before her, and she figured she might as well ask her own question. "So what brings you to a place like this? It doesn't exactly seem the safest place to catch up on a few missed Z's." A good natured chuckle accompanied her words as her eyes danced with amusement. Company always put Crise in such high spirits, even the times when she was missing close to all of her memories.

OoC: As this thread has been inactive for the last 19 days, I'm sorry to say I'm pulling out Donkey. I know you're on lowered activity, and hopefully when things settle down for you we could thread again. ;P
