A small figure slunk through the rain slowly. She didn’t seem to be hurrying to get anyplace soon. She didn’t even seem worried with getting shelter for herself though the rain pounded heavily on the ground around her, beating out a calming uneven rhythm. Though on-lookers might think this young wolf was crazy for traveling in the rain alone, a small thing like her with such thin fur in a place she knew nothing about, but she found peace in her walk. Soft paws traveled over the damp ground of grass and flowers. The earth felt nice beneath her feet, the dark shadows of the trees made her feel safe and left her unconcerned about the cares of her travel.
This wolf’s name was Misteria. She was young, only about two years of age and she’d only just left her family, having been away from them for around three weeks and yet long enough to have gotten quite far. This peaceful walk in the rain gave her plenty of things to see when she could see through the rain, including the slight movement.
Her tall ears perked forward, what was prey doing out in the rain? If it is prey, she thought. Her nostrils flared in search of scent but she was unable to pick up a single trace in rain so hard. Her ears lowered in defeat. She figured it was probably only her imagination. As she thought about food though she remember just how hungry she was and she stomach growled in response. Misteria shook her head with a snort, she couldn’t help but laugh inwardly at herself. The best time to be hungry… raining with all the prey hiding. Her tail waved despite her hunger and she forgot it quickly. Her eyes shifted, searching the trees as she continued to walk on. Misteria didn’t really believe she was searching for anything in particular though, maybe a companion, or a stranger to speak too? She hadn’t spoken to another wolf for some time. At least some time on her calendar.
