Agaliha’s ears flipped back with Castien’s question. She knew it was bound to come, especially since she had asked him about his entry into the pack first. A drastic shift came over her and for a brief moment it was easy to see that she wasn’t a pup, she had been forced to grow up early and quick. Her playful nature was mostly only because she finally felt like she had found a place to belong and a place that was safe; a place where she wouldn’t have to constantly be looking over her shoulder anticipating an attack.
“It’s a long story… but it seems like we might have a bit of time during this little tour so I might as well tell you. I am… was… a rogue. Both of my parents were as well. They spent all of their lives skirting around territories and living in the small strips of land that packs either couldn’t or wouldn’t claim. My mother died when I was very young, she was killed by another rogue, as were my siblings. I didn’t want that to happen to me… I didn’t want to spend all my life in fear or living some kind of half-life. So I decided to seek out a pack. I skirted the boarders of a few packs, watching, observing… and finally I decided that this pack seemed the best for me. I smelt no bloodshed from here other than pray, it just seemed quiet and peaceful.”
She stopped talking but didn’t stop walking. She wondered how he would react to her story. She hadn’t really given him time to say anything from fear of his reaction. Rogues were not accepted by many wolves. They were seen as scavengers and as trespassers. She had hated being a rogue, and was very grateful to Toiro for letting her join this pack, she would be a very loyal and hardworking packmate to prove that she belonged here.
Her stomach let out an audible growl and she stopped walking for a minute. Under her thick fur she blushed and then seemed to snap out of her serious mood.
“ I’m starving, do you mind if I stop to hunt really quickly? I can catch something small… unless you are hungry as well? Then if you want I can get something bigger for us to share.”
