Making a home(Joining Airila/Toiro)

Coming up to the Airila packs boarder Verance looked on the other side to be shocked to see many beautiful Mountains in this region of Anikira. He nodded and continued on his way across the boarder of Airila. Verance took a deep breath and begun to Howl his presence in the area. Verance then sat down right t the boarder And waited for the Alpha to appear. He hoped that this one would be different and he would join the pack. He was no use on his own and he knew that, he wanted to learn from the Alpha and eventually get his own pack. Sitting there he could not help but think of what of a Alpha he would be. His fantasy made his head spin and with the voices that drive him crazy. He let out a yawn and laid down he did not think of anything of the voice that was gibbering in his head.

He shook his head to get the fly's off of him. He really did not mind the fly's but for some reason they were getting on his nerves. Verance sat up and scratched his ear to get a fly that was crawling in it. He finally got that fly off of him and he stood up. Verance begun to walk back and forth thinking about things, Like the months in that box and his family that was murdered in cold blood. He did not know if this could have been prevented from happening. Verance did not know how far he was from canada but he knew that no matter how far he was from home that place would always be his first home.

He came out of his thoughts and sat back down, still at the boarder he smiled and his tail swayed a bit as the thoughts of his family came into his head. he knew that life had a plan for him and no matter what those plans are he knew that he had to keep his head held high and go for his goal of becoming an Alpha. He knew that his dream was not to far off in the distance and he will soon come to it and he will become an Alpha and he knew that he could not stop no matter what he will become one some day or another. Veranc sat there and waited for some one to arrive.

Huxleyi had been snoozing. Not the most notable action for a Beta to adopt, but for some reason he had been tired that afternoon. Perhaps the mid-morning hunt he had gone on had tired him? No, how could such a small task as catching a rabbit tucker him out? The howl stirred him though, its unfamiliar tones rousing him from sleep. He shook his head, ears waggling at the rough gesture, and stood immediately. Stalk still, he listened. A male, and one he did not recognize. Far off too, near the mountains. No reply had come from Toiro, so he assumed the Alpha was busy with other matters. It was Huxleyi's turn to show he could judge character. They indeed needed members, but by now they were no longer desperate, so not just anyone would be allowed to enter Arilia.

But Huxleyi was not judgemental, indeed he had always been a kind wolf, some might even say selfless. Tipping his nose to the sky he parted his jaws in a deep howl, the notes rising upwards and towards the mountains. He would answer this brute, though time would be needed to make his way to the wolf.

He began at a quick jog, his legs stretching and warming up after their nap. Soon he broke into a run, galloping through the trees for what seemed quite a while before he broke cover at the foot of the mountains. Now he would need to ascend to the foothills, for surely this brute was not in the peaks. As he rose he caught the males scent, starkly unfamiliar against the comforting smells of his home. Once the ground began to level, his climb resumed into a leisurely trot as he approached the male.

"Hello," He greeted in a bark and slowed to a stop several meters back from the male. "Who are you, and what brings you to Arilia, friend?" He asked, posture high: ears forward and attentive, his tail raised slightly above the line of his back. He observed the male now, a deep black color, and healthy looking. This was good, he would not want to take in a sickened wolf that would only burden Aludra. It had been very eventful for her recently: the lead warrior gravely wounded, a young wolfess washing up on shore, waterlogged. But at least the pack was growing, and soon they would be tested in their growing bonds of kinship. The cold months were on their way, even though Huxleyi was not native to the continent he could feel the chilling of the air. He could see the changes in the trees, birds flying off in vast flocks to warmer climes. Sometimes he wondered why wolves didn't do the same - act as nomads to stay in more pleasant weather all year round.

The waite was quite long in verance's eyes but he knew that keeping a calm head and keep waiting for someone to show, and he knew someone would come to see him in time soon. As a few more minutes went by Verance soon came to see a figure of another wolf coming up to him. He watched as the male stopped a few inches away from him Verance stood up and listened to the male speak to him. He seemed friendly enough to him and even if he wasn't Verance will still give the same response either way. As he stood there looking at the male Verance begun to speak "Hello there, My name is Verance and I have came here to join the Airila pack." He spoke in a strong voice.

Waiting for a response from the male he somehow knew that he was not the alpha of the pack but probably someone who had the similar power to accept others in to the pack. He knew that he must be patience if he would to get in to this pack. He soon begun to hear the voices in his head again. 'Verance this pack has great opportunities and I can feel it.' He listened to the voice that he had came friends with but he still knew that it was not real and yet somehow he listened to it like a conscience of some sort. He knew if he could keep this voice thing at bay it might go away and stay away. He was fed up with these voices in his head and he wanted to get rid of it.

Coming out of his thought he looked at the other male waiting for him to speak. Verance did not move any closer to the other male. Verance was still in the same spot as he was a few minutes prior not getting any closer to the other make in respect more that anything. He knew giving space was good but getting to far away or to close could be bad for his chance of getting in to the pack. Verance shook the fly off his ear as he stood there looking at the other male. He hoped that this pack will let him join there group and he knew if he was turned down he might just be a loner for the rest of his life.

His hypothesis had been true, this male did desire acceptance into Airila. Verance was direct in his intention, though he spoke in an odd manner - too strong maybe, for Huxleyi's liking? Though perhaps this was a show of strength, to stave off an impression of weakness - indeed this was likely. Perhaps a good quality, to want to express that he was a healthy, capable wolf, Huxleyi was still weary. This was his first time meeting a new comer in Toiros stead, he would be forever mortified if he made an ill choice in allowing this male passage.

"Verance, I am Huxleyi, the Beta of this pack." He announced himself and title with a fair bit of pride, though he was by no means flaunting, simply informing the male of rank. With ears rotated forward, he began to examine Verance, and question him. "What skills do you have? Would you be an asset to Airila?" He asked, observing the movements and attitudes of the black wolf.

He seemed level-headed enough: he had shown no fear, nor aggression when Huxleyi had approached, in fact he seemed ready for the meeting. He did note however that Verance had not changed his own posture upon Huxleyi's arrival, seemingly foregoing this natural subordination. Huxleyi would give him the benefit of simply not realizing the rank he held before he had announced it. No need to rush to aggression, this sort of act had been routine in his past, but no more. He would not punish those for honest mistakes or misunderstandings. No, he would be just and fair and represent Airila and Toiro in a way which would lift those names upwards.

Verance bowed his head to Huxleyi as he announced his name and rank. Verance stood up but his tail hung low and his head was lower than Huxleyi's. He waited for the other male finish speaking."Nice to make your acquaintance. I apologize for not realizing the rank you hold. The scent i had picked up was that of Toiro." He spoke has he kept the position of submission. This other male seemed to be good with judgement. Verance listened to Huxleyi speak again about what he could offer to the pack. Verance was not much of a fighter but hunting was his specialty. Verance waited till he finished then he spoke "The skills that i possess consist of hunting, and a bit in fighting. As for being an asset to the pack i do believe i will be an great addition. I'm loyal to the pack i'm in, Will always be ready to defend one another and even give my life to ensure the safety of the pack."

Verance finished talking his tail still hung low and his head was still lower than Huxleyi's. His ears twitched as a fly buzzed around it. Verance could feel the sun on his back as it peaked out from behind a cloud. And as for this male he could tell that one day he would be a great alpha and he obviously has what it takes, well that is what Verance thought. He soon herd the voice in his head begun to speak to him. Verance wanted nothing to do with it and since he landed on Anikira that voice has begun to vanish. He would miss the sound of his friend that he had for such a long time, but now he will have new friends, and a new home. He knew that there is no reason to keep that taking over his life.

The day was coming close to the evening and he could tell that. The soft breeze made the hair on his back sway as he stood there. He hoped that this will be the Pack that he was to stay in till he died or decided to create a pack of his own. His life might be turning around at this point, and he hoped so. After seeing the death of his old pack in Canada. rest in peace his old family, his new one will need his full attention now.
