It seemed Aludra was getting exactly what she had dreamed of. Recently Toiro had been spending a substantial amount of time with her. Her mood had been extremely elevated, to say the least. A skip had settled itself into her step that had never been there before and even her normally joyous eyes were glittering with something more. Although the words had never been spoken aloud, Aludra was becoming more certain that this was reality. For the longest time she had attempted to convince her logical mind that the flurry of emotions was nothing more than a crush. Toiro simply couldn't be interested in her, right? For the first time that Aludra could remember, she actually could not completely believe her mind. Despite the prodding and convincing that this was nothing and would pass, it had not. In fact, her attachment to the brute had grown stronger. It was more than because he was her Alpha, she had never been one to care about rank or status. There was something about Toiro that had snared her and she was not attempting to free herself from his grasp.
As the two canines conversed softly between each other, they had also been wandering Shyia. It seemed that their direction was anywhere that the wind blew them towards. Aludra had lost track of time, she no longer knew how many hours of this day had been spent with Toiro. All she was confident of was that it was well worth it. Nothing felt more right in her mind, by the brute's side is where she longed to be. The heavens above approved of them and permitted an ever resonating light to surround them. Whether or not they were silent did not affect them. The shaman felt as if communication was still there, even without words. The two seemed to have a silent relationship that did not need to be spoken of; however, Aludra still craved the verbal confirmation. She longed to know if her mind had become delusional or if this was actually real. Her heart knew the answer that her brain was attempting to rationalize. The war between the two had been going on for quite some time, now was the time to find truth.
Words longed to escape from her lips; yet, she was grasping at what to say. 'Don't fight this off, enjoy the silence.' Green eyes set their sight towards Toiro, a soft smile growing upon her muzzle. The two had been wandering throughout the Xayar forest for awhile now. The only sounds seemed to be those of their gentle footsteps and their hearts. Time was lost in the shaman's mind - something that never happened. Her knowledge of the world seemed too great for her to not know the time of day or season, but the infinite feeling the grey brute was lending her caused everything surrounding them to bleed away. It was just the two of them, wandering the path of some divine reality.
The place where land met water was now within the canines' view, exposing the gold and auburn hues radiating from the closest star. They had arrived just in time to see it wave good bye before drifting to sleep and granting the silver orb it's chance to reign. The shaman had always been partial to the time when the sky ruler shifted. There was something flawless about it. The sky reminded her that even within the darkest time, light was still available. For nearly two years the femme had only the skies above to comfort her when she felt abandoned and alone. Now, the brute next to her had replaced it. The heavens were still there to guide her, shimmering down upon her they encouraged the ivory female. Wiggling of her tail picked up speed as the two parted ways with the trees behind them and brought themselves to stand upon a mixture of sand and snow.
The past day or so must have been warmer than before, as some of the snow had melted off the shore. Greedily the waves lapped at the sand, the water had been lonely when the snow had fallen. The sky rained down its autumn colored rays to the earth. Mother Nature happily allowed them to radiate and play across the snow and ocean, causing a glistening array of warm hues. Even the female's white pelt seemed to gleam pink and orange beneath the vibrance coming from above. A soothing sigh parted from the shaman's muzzle and she could not resist offering an affectionate nuzzle to Toiro. The scene before her emerald orbs was surreal, the infinity she was experiencing before had doubled. 'Perhaps death has claimed me and this is the afterlife.' The Arctic creature had never believed that true life could hold such perfection. Yet, her struggles had been many - had life been flawlessly easy, nothing would matter or hold importance.
At last words decided to part the female's lips, "Do you remember being here with me?" her musical words remained soft, as if she felt that speaking loudly would interrupt the serenity. For a moment the shaman became tongue-tied, certainly she has expected to confess herself to Toiro. Well, at least establish if their feelings were the same; however, the radiating glory around them had taken her breath away. For once the flashbacks she was having were of great memories, when she first requested to join Airila. She remembered the overwhelming sense of calm she had forced herself into as she carried the small gift with her along the beach. Even then she had believed this was the most beautiful place, now it had become flawless under her gaze.
'Was my entry into his lands of any importance, did it stay within his memory as it did mine?' There was such a longing to ask the brute a million questions, but she knew that there was really only one of any importance. Her adrenaline pulsed faster through her lithe frame as she brushed herself lightly against the brute, enjoying his warmth against her. "I will never forget my arrival here, this is my favorite place. It soothes a worried mind," her bright green eyes tore themselves from the scenery and settled upon the handsome brute beside her. It was no wonder he had chosen Shyia, an angel like him belonged here. After a momentary pause, words resumed themselves, "I was blessed to have met you," no longer could the female hold her gaze steady. It drifted from his face towards his paws as a warm flush rushed to her cheeks. Surprisingly, her mind was not pulsating within her skull and threatening her with a headache. Rather the femme felt soothed and calm. Whatever deity had led them here knew what he was doing.
She did not pull herself away from the brute even though his words could prove to crush her. A strange trust for Toiro had developed inside of her petite frame. Shivers of anticipation tickled her spine. After an eternity of holding her thoughts inside, Aludra had finally opened up to another. Sure her statements were short and she was not superb at expressing herself, but inside of her mind she was proud of herself. It had taken years to finally be able to talk to another wolf - let alone confess what she indirectly had mentioned. If Toiro understood what she was shyly hinting at was unknown to her. With a pleasant sigh, the shaman felt that if he asked she could tell him exactly what was on her mind. Even if the words were clumsy and awkward.

Border patrols, food shortages, loner requests… All of that was gone from Toiro’s mind as he walked with Aludra through the beautiful snow-covered forest. He realised that he didn’t give himself much time to relax these days so it was good to finally have a chance to let his worries drift away and simply enjoy the company of a fellow wolf. And what a day it had been… The time he’d spent with her had been so lovely and relaxing, and he felt as if they could stay this way for an eternity.
It was so easy to blame his fondness of the white femme on hormones, but his heart knew it was something more than that. He’d never really felt this way before, not even with Keyara. Still, the alpha male was in his fourth year; not yet old by any means, but most brutes his age had already passed their genes on to a future generation and he was beginning to feel the desire to start a family. The pack was a good size now, and was stable enough that he didn’t have to constantly worry about whether it would fall apart. Winter was definitely the hardest season for the Airila wolves, but even though Cherie had been working extremely hard to keep them all fed her efforts were paying off and they would hopefully all make it through to spring.
But it seemed the two wanderers were nearing the beach now, judging by the salty scent wafting on the breeze, and such thoughts were put out of his mind. The sand soon became visible, revealing that only part of the wide shore was covered by snow. Late sunset rays cast a golden light on everything they touched, making even the sea glimmer invitingly, and Toiro didn’t think he’d ever seen the beach this beautiful before. Of course, he didn’t usually come down here because of the bad memories the caverns held for him, but he found that today really wasn’t so bad. Though not quite over his phobia of deep water, at least Keyara no longer haunted him wherever he went; she was truly at peace now.
“Red sky at night…” A peaceful sigh was released by the large brute as he gazed off towards where the sun was making its descent, noting the clouds tinged with pink. Toiro wasn’t usually one for superstition, but it seemed to be the perfect compliment to the evening; an assurance that the future would be good.
The two wolves came to a stop as one a short distance from the trees, looking out across the shore at the gentle lapping of the waves. It was so serene and quiet, as if nothing could ever go wrong in this peaceful world. Toiro’s heart swelled as Aludra nuzzled against him, and almost without thinking he gently nuzzled her back. It just felt so right being here with her, and even his earlier tension seemed to have relaxed slightly.
The grey turned his head to watch the beautiful femme beside him as she softly spoke with that uniquely melodic voice of hers, somehow without disrupting the quiet of the evening. “Of course I remember…” he replied. Who could forget any moment with such a perfect femme? From the first he’d admired the elegant way she held herself, and her subtle modesty.
Aludra was such a beautiful she wolf; it seemed he was hopelessly attracted to white fur and green eyes. But she was so much more than that as well. A skilled shaman, she had brought his lead warrior back from the dead, and for that he would be eternally grateful. Her mind seemed advanced beyond the usual mortal wolf; she held so much knowledge about the world and how it worked. She was gentle too, soft-hearted and kind, and not aggressive or arrogant at all. He could hardly believe he had met such a wonderful she wolf, and he knew Aludra would make a perfect mother some day.
She began to speak again, and his eyes lifted to meet hers. Steel and emerald; the perfect match. He wondered whether she really meant what she had just said, but he could see no signs of lying in her eyes and in fact she seemed a little embarrassed about her words.
An overwhelming feeling of warmth blossomed inside him as he smiled. “No, I’m the one who’s blessed to have met you. You’re everything I could have asked for, and more.” Toiro’s heart thumped almost audibly in his chest at this admission, and he half-wished he hadn’t let the moment’s emotions get the better of him. Well, he could say he meant her helpfulness as a shaman if she seemed bothered by his words; although he was almost certain she would at least suspect he meant something more because of the soft, almost intimate way the words were delivered.
The waves licked delightfully at the shoreline while the autumn hues began to drip away into a rich blue. The shaman was struggling to maintain a calm composure when deep inside her heart was beating, threatening to rip itself from her chest at any second. She had no complaints, after all being here with Toiro was worth more to her than anything else was. Something about him, the way he spoke, the way he moved, it all absolutely captivated the shaman in a mannerism that nothing else ever had. Aludra was thankful that her heart went out towards a brute that was deserving of it, one that cared for others and not just himself. This brute beside her was everything she could have ever wanted.
The journey throughout the forest seemed to be infinite, neither starting or ending inside of her mind. The two had been wandering through the lands for an eternity, sometimes they'd speak and on other occasions simply enjoy the other's company. It had been quite the relief for the Arctic female, not only was she spending time with Toiro but also had an opportunity to relax herself as well. Her mind had been running laps throughout Shyia for quite some time now, attempting to help newcomers as well as maintaining her supply of herbs. By now she had grown much swifter on her feet, but that did not mean that the femme was not worn out. Desperately she had craved to be close to Toiro, to have more than a few hours at night to spend with him. 'My wish was granted,' her emerald eyes played against the sky as she silently thanked them. Her deliverance to these lands was becoming more of a blessing every second.
The Alpha's perfection radiated off of him constantly. She admired the way he held himself, he was the Alpha and knew of his authority and power - yet he still remained kind to others. He was gentle and sweet, often giving others a second chance to have a life that they never dreamed would exist. His gentle guidance and genuine care for those around him was obvious to all, he loved and valued Airila. Everything he could do for his family would be done. Within her mind Aludra could see him as a perfect father, she knew he would be able to bring up pups in a healthy and supportive way. Her green eyes swelled with adoration for the large grey brute, he was absolutely flawless.
Breath caught within her chest as he pulled himself closer to her, 'the feeling is mutual.' There was no other reason that the brute would allow himself to push closer against her, and soon after his words reassured the femme. As he softly spoke of himself being the lucky one, Aludra let a quiet and happy whine escape from her lips. The butterflies within her stomach began waving their wings even harder and the femme felt as if she could hardly stand due to her great excitement. Never in a million years had Aludra truly believed that Toiro would have the same soft admission that she had. Her face nuzzled itself into his neck and chest, a rather bold movement, but the happiness was drowning out some of her more calculated intentions. After all, they did silently admit their feelings and some of her worries had dripped away.
The present rang out proudly within the female's mind, little else would have been able to matter. Her mind was so full of joy that it was busting out of her from the seams. "Toiro," she spoke his name softly as if ensuring to herself that this was not some well designed nightmare to yank her away from perfection. For a moment, silence resumed over their conversation; yet, it was not the kind that rang out awkwardly. Nature seemed to be complimenting their evening with the gentle waves and the gleaming silver orb that was making its ascent. The two wolves were comfortable enough around each other that even in complete silence, it would not have bothered Aludra at all. The shaman was rather comforted just knowing that the Alpha was around, even more so now that she knew his feelings were mutual towards her.
"You don't know the happiness you bring me," she pulled herself away from his neck just enough to be able to speak. Even so her words were spoken in a musically intimate way, just to be shared between the two of them. For a moment the female wondered if all of this was going to remain a secret between the two of them, even if it did the shaman would not mind. He would have her whole heart until the day she died, even if it was only in private. As long as she held his too, that was what mattered. He had to run the pack, she could not hold it against him for keeping their personal life a bit of a secret if he felt it should be. "I have been wanting to tell you this for a long time, you really do have the most sacred place of my heart, sir Toiro." The female was thankful for her fur, it hid the blush that had certainly began to overtake her face with warmth.

He shouldn’t have said it, he shouldn’t have said it… He could have at least said it a little more poetically – why was he such a fool with words? Grey eyes focused down on the thin layer of snowy powder at the grey brute’s paws, senses alert for any sign of a reaction from the she wolf beside him. After what seemed like forever (but was really only a moment), Aludra whined happily and nuzzled into his fur, and Toiro’s tense muscles relaxed. He could hardly believe that she felt the same way as he did; but each second that passed convinced him more and more that it really was true.
The barriers of caution around the alpha’s heart were rapidly dissolving, and at hearing her softly speak his name, pure happiness overwhelmed him. It was such a lovely feeling – their two bodies pressed together as they shared each others warmth – and her intimate nuzzles sent excited shivers down his spine. He returned them with a soft passion, delighting in the feel of her thick white fur against his muzzle. Toiro had never even dreamed of such a wonderful feeling; his shyness was quickly evaporating, and he was no longer giving much thought to how he might think of these actions in the future. For now, he was living entirely in the present, simply wishing to enjoy this moment that their lowered guards had given them both.
The scenery around them was certainly the perfect compliment to their evening, so quiet and serene. The moonlight cast a gentle light upon the two wolves, and he could see the dark waves at the end of the shore glittering with the relaxed movement of the sea. Nobody else was down near the beach at this time of night; not a soul. They would all be asleep in the dens by now. It was a strangely exhilarating feeling being awake when no one else was, as if the two wolves were alone in the world... This was a special night shared just between the two of them.
As he listened to his shaman’s next words another joyful smile grew on his face. He was so pleased that he made her happy; it was becoming the most important thing he lived for. The male loved being useful, and even the suggestion that this femme cared for him in return made his heart soar. Toiro would never let her down, would never let a breath of harm come her way. Such a perfect femme deserved to be looked after, and if she was willing to take his humble self, he would do everything in his power to protect her and bring her happiness.
In fact the alpha could easily dream of them raising puppies together sometime in the future. Perfect pups, the cutest ever, and they would have the most wonderful caring mother to teach them. The pack was a reasonable size, and stable, so it would be a safe environment to grow up in during the spring when the prey had returned. He was sure the others would welcome the idea, especially Cherie.
Perhaps, though, a downside of the closely-knit pack was that their relationship was unlikely to remain a secret for long; Spirit and Kastiel hadn’t really admitted it even to themselves, but Toiro had been able to sense that his good friends cared for each other. Maybe their packmates were already watching the alpha and the shaman, just waiting for them to get together. But no, nobody could have suspected – Toiro and Aludra had been good at hiding their feelings even in private. Too good. She soon confirmed this, admitting that she’d been feeling this way for a long time. He had too, ever since their first meeting, although only more recently had he realised the true extent of his emotions. This was more than a simple crush.
“I love you, Aludra…” Those four words held so much meaning; even though she was unlikely to reject him now his heart still felt all quivery inside his chest as it lay bare for her to see, the barriers all but gone. Had the male ever actually meaningfully used the word ‘love’ before this? He didn’t think he had.
Toiro buried his nose within her soft fur again, taking in a deep breath of that sweet addicting scent. It was amazing how quickly he had progressed today; from in the morning being slightly nervous to speak with her, and now in the evening confessing his love. His true emotions had been bottled up for so long, so now that they finally had the chance to come free they were pouring out in a torrent. And maybe his hormones were helping him along a little.
Worry? Doubt? Now those words seemed foreign within this female's dictionary. She knew not how or why such negativity had burdened her for so long. Everything was becoming clearer by the second. Fear had been consuming the femme for many weeks now, afraid that she would be rejected by the brute she had truly fallen for. Him offering her a home and a rank had little to do with the love growing within her heart, other than solidifying what her mind already knew. This brute was a saint, sent straight from Fenrir to save her from the dark spirits of the world. His kindness went out to all, he was strong but did not utilize it to intimidate others. Violence was something that seemed distant upon Toiro's mind, even though he certainly could defend his family. He was intelligent, handsome and genuinely interested in her knowledge. Aludra had been falling for him every moment, and even after her confession to him, she felt herself drowning more.
Except the feeling was better than anything she could have dreamed. Being consumed within his love and her own. She craved an eternity with him, even if this moment made her infinite. In fact, she felt nearly greedy to fall so deep within such emotions. Something that only happened within her dreams, was finally brought to life. Cherie would likely have been proud of her for admitting something so dear, the Arctic was certainly proud of herself. Shyness had always been present in her lifestyle, but upon this night she had let it go. Her mind released the reigns of control that held the chaotic words within her mind. Did he care for her or not? All of the sleepless nights were worth it, for the brute that held her heart cared for her as well. Her tail was held low, but a joyous wag had been occurring since she spoke prior. Telling him how she felt, it was such a release. Flawless grace settled into her lithe figure.
Emerald orbs turned towards the brute when she felt him begin to speak, her optics catching his. That moment brought more emotion to her features than she believed possible. For an instant water began to fill her orbs, "And I love you, Toiro." Her previous thoughts of family and love paled in comparison to reality. The waves of warmth and pure ecstasy made the femme feel as if she was floating. The terrain beneath her paws had vanished, the entire world vacated - all that was left was Toiro. Her emerald eyes could only see him and Aludra knew that would not change. The loyalty that the brute now had from her was complete. Anything he needed, she would travel to the center of the planet to get. The brute was her world and now he could know that too.
"My eyes see only you, my love. You truly have all of me," although her voice remained quiet, a different sort of tune was sounding. No longer was her tone musical and shy, there was a melody of confidence and genuine commitment. It was as if these words were the most true out everything she had said. It was so, by saying them to Toiro she had solidified everything. Never would it even cross her mind to turn away from him, she wished to die by his side. The rest of her life she wished to be with him. Regardless of if anyone knew, the female would silently stand in full support of the brute beside her. He was not only her love but her best friend as well. Someone that she could confide in. This moment they were sharing was picturesque, a perfect snapshot had been filed into her mind. All the trauma in the world could not erase it.
Toiro would be the ideal father. Moral and generous, he would teach his children to extend kindness to others. They would likely be as humble as their father. Should they have puppies, they would be gorgeous little balls of fluff. They would be a perfect family and to her surprise Airila had grown with ideal timing. The two had confessed their true feelings and there was little to worry them. Their home was stable, his pack was growing stronger by the day. She still did not know why he had chosen her, yet the reason did not matter. His sincerity was clear, 'he loves me. I am the one who holds his heart in the same way he cradles mine.' The Arctic inhaled, shifting her muzzle towards the sky for a moment. Even to this day the stars has never failed her, they brought her to the Promise Land.
As her head lowered once more, Aludra permitted her tongue to lightly caress the brute's cheek. Gently she sighed, a great weight visibly had lifted from the shaman. In fact she seemed to nearly defy gravity in her state of pure joy. Nothing in life had prepared her for this, for once the ivory canine was content with that. Their love had arose so abruptly and been so true that others would be envious. The perfection they held was continuous. Her entire being craved the brute, wanted nothing more than to be his forever. She cuddled herself against his chest, her slender body pressing closer to his muscular frame. Whatever the brute could ever want she would happily give. He could rip her heart from her chest if that meant the last thing she saw was his smile.
