This morning he woke up to make his rounds looking for a meal and he found himself at the border of the closest pack territory to Caurus. Ever since he had encountered that strange young female who’s name he did not quite catch, his day to day had been filled with distracting thoughts of Meridian and the other members of his dysfunctional family, Kodiak Black, Rovanfáer, and even Denali. Of course Rovan was not Atreyu’s biological son, but he did not know that. Neither he nor Exodus were privy to paternity tests like the human culture. Leathery nostrils inhaled the strong scent of the Alpha’s mark identifying the edge of his territory and that which belonged to the nomads, for now. The scene was all too familiar to Atreyu. He had only ever belonged to one pack before in his life, and it was to be closer to the female that made him tingle on the inside. If ever he could love, he might have treated the poor demented female better, taken her as his mate. But he was incapable of feeling anything of the sort. He recalled watching the way Exodus was with Denali. The way his eyes lit up every time they fell upon the Tundra female. His voice became quieter when he spoke to her, as if approaching a caged and frightened animal. “Will you just leave well enough alone?” a voice that only he could hear questioned referring to his motives. The last time Atreyu subjected himself to living within a pack and having to abide by their rules, was to find Denali and mentally torture her. But now, standing at the border of a different territory and a different pack, he was here not to torture, but to mend broken bonds. Hence the questioning from the persistent voices; they did not agree with his lifestyle change unless it was for all the wrong reasons. He had stopped questioning why he was the way that he way a long time ago… But that did not mean he was any different from who he had always been. He was older and wiser, but still just as deadly. His tact had changed as he grew on his years. He had evolved into an expert manipulator, able to fake all of the emotions that those who were normal expressed. So while he was looking for Meridian he would integrate himself into this pack and maybe other packs until he found his disturbed daughter that he had left behind a year ago. Throwing his head back a deep howl rang out over the mountain range asking for council with the young Alpha that ruled this land.
