((Warning: This is not a nice post. Contains a little violence.))
Mother and daughter walked alongside each other, heading up the narrow and steep track leading up towards the top of the Ryn-Eldbel ridge. Most afternoons, Angel would be nestled in the birthing den she had dug for herself and her pups, relaxing after a long day’s hunting, but today the white she wolf had gotten it into her head that it would be a good idea to drag Kaala – the first pup she could find – up to the top of the great ridge to watch the sunset with her. Truthfully, Angel would have brought all of them if she’d known where they were, but after a couple of minutes searching with no success she got bored and decided against it. Besides, she wasn’t too concerned about leaving them to their own devices for one afternoon. Rurik and Aurelia and Daeron seemed to get along perfectly well with Vorilye’s children; they were probably off playing happily together somewhere.
Kaala, however, had been found lazing around the den, so had no choice but to follow her eager mother up to see this so called sunset. She was used to this kind of thing by now; the small dark-furred pup had never had much of an independent spirit, and always stayed closer to Angel than the rest, due to the terrible sickness which had taken over Kaala for a few weeks early in her puphood and restricted her to the confines of the tiny den.
The young pup was still struggling to recover even now, and as such, her speed was extremely slow as the two wolves made their way up the hill. Even the usually generous Angel was beginning to get impatient – by now it was getting late and the sun was almost down to the horizon. “Darling, please hurry, or we’ll miss it.” Angel whined, turning her big blue eyes towards the top of the ridge as if by yearning hard enough she could teleport there. “It’s gonna be so beautiful… just wait until you see it! There’s nothing like it. It’s so cool…”
“But… but I can’t go any faster! Why does it have to be such a long wayyyy? I’m so tired!”
“Just keep going, dear. It’s only a little further…”
“But I don’t wanna! Who even cares about the sunset? This is stupid!” Kaala collapsed stubbornly in the middle of the path, a frown twisting her tiny face. Irritation bubbled inside the larger white femme, stirring a feeling which she hadn’t felt in a long time. She turned back and grabbed her pup by the scruff of the neck, literally dragging Kaala up the hill until the pup managed to get back on her paws. “Quick! There’s no time for you to be silly. We really must hurry,” Angel snapped at her daughter.
They needed to reach the summit in time to see the sunset; the intensity of her desire just couldn’t be explained, but it was the one thing she knew she had to do. Tiny warning bells had begun ringing in the back of her mind, but the naïve femme pushed on, quickening her steps as the pair approached the top of the narrow plateau. Once they were both at the top, her pretty sapphire eyes eagerly searched for the sun on the horizon – an eagerness which soon turned to disappointment as she realised that all she could see were a few thin red-tinged clouds above the sea.
The sunset was over.
Immediately, intense burning anger flared up in the volatile femme’s heart and she turned on Kaala with a glare. “Stupid girl! This is all your fault! You were too slow and now we’ve missed it!”
“But… but… can’t we try again tomorrow?” The tiny pup whimpered in confusion at her mother’s sudden rage. “No!” Angel snarled, baring her teeth viciously. “We can’t! We can’t! We can’t! It will never be the same!” To her mind in its current state, this particular sunset had been the first most important thing in the universe, and her stupid slow daughter had ruined it! The insane wolf’s blue eyes blazed with unparallelled fury as she rapidly approached the confused and frightened pup. “You stupid weak bastard! You f***ing idiot!”
“Why mommy? Why are you- why?” Even to Kaala, it was clear that the usually patient caring mother was no longer in her right mind; it was if she was possessed by a mad murderous demon, not the Angel she knew at all. With another frightened wail, the little pup turned and tried to scamper away. But the climb to the ridge had exhausted her and she only managed to get a few metres before she collapsed in the dirt and started to cry.
“Shut up! Shut up! I can’t put up with your pathetic mewling! You’re so useless; why do I even have to deal with such stupid stupid pups?! I never wanted you! I hate you!” With a final burst of speed, Angel lunged forwards and savagely dug her sharp teeth into Kaala’s fragile body, tearing her child apart as if she was a piece of prey. The pup was dead within a second, fortunately unaware of the mauling that continued as the white she wolf released the anger which had been silently building up for the several months since her last rageful episode. All of her energy was concentrated into that one task; she gave no thought at all to the chance that someone might come across her, or to the subsequent consequences that that might have. And she didn’t care one bit about what Angel would feel like when she woke up and found out about the death of her beloved pup. The Madness inside her hadn’t been awakened in such a painfully long time, and she was going to make the most of this opportunity to destroy.
((OOC: I've been meaning to officially get rid of Kaala for a while now. Anyway, I would like some wolf (Descai or loner) to find out about Angel's condition. I was thinking that wolf could either try to fix her, or abuse the knowledge for their own needs. There are loads of ways this plot could go so please pm me if you have any ideas - any at all are welcome ^^))
