History: In the spring of 2010, Zenzi was born with a brother in a small band of wolves who were a sort of unofficial pack, claiming a small area of western Canada as their home. Only about a week or so after being born, her brother had come down with an illness and passed away. Shortly after this, Zenzi’s mother and father moved to a new den to escape the memories. After this tragedy, her mother was extra protective of the black pup, rarely letting her roam more than a few yards from the den. While her mother was overbearing, her father was quite the opposite. He was almost never around. Usually he was out on a scouting mission for the pack, hunting, or fighting off loners or other threats.
When Zenzi was about four months old, rumors spread around the pack that her mother was going to overthrow the leader of the group. As the leader was well liked and respected, this was a clear threat, and one no one was willing to risk. In an attempt to keep the peace in the pack, Zenzi and her mother were chased out. Her father had been on a scouting mission, and did not return until weeks later. For the next six months, the two females braved the Canadian wild on their own, moving from den to den to avoid trouble with other loners or packs. During their travels, Zenzi began to learn how to hunt and take care of herself. Her mother taught her to sing, often teaching her songs to help her calm herself from nightmares of them being chased out.
Once the young wolf was a year old, her mother tearfully sent her on her own way. For the next month, Zenzi remained a loner. She polished her hunting skills and helped a few loners she met with pups. She would take care of the pups for a while so their mother could hunt or rest, not asking for anything in exchange. As the sun made her black pelt uncomfortable, she would travel at night during the hotter months. This gave her the opportunity to learn about the stars and how to track them and where she was.
The summer after Zenzi turned two years old, she found herself needing to join a pack. This pack was called Wintersun, where she was accepted in June of 2012. During her time in the pack, she rose through the ranks from her joining rank of Nu to Zeta. There was a brief period of time when she faced a period of depression, her rank dropping to Theta, eventually working back up to Eta. During this time, she became friends with a male who joined only a few months after her, named Wildheart. In November, they pronounced their love, becoming mates.
A little over a month later, the territories several packs called home was threatened by humans. The threat of humans and the winter chasing prey away made life difficult for the wolves. In the early morning, the packs began to move south, calling a temporary truce and partnership. They later arrived at their new home in Oregon, USA. Only a week or two later, Zenzi found that she was pregnant with Wildheart’s pups. In the spring of 2013, the female gave birth to two healthy pups, a male and a female. The two grew up, becoming their own, though remained in the pack with their parents.
For the next year, Zenzi, Wildheart, and their pups lived in Wintersun, continuing to grow. Wildheart was sent out on a scouting mission, due to return in a couple weeks. When he did not return in the expected time, she set out to find him. Unfortunately, the two were captured by hunters after being tranquilized. They were put onto a ship and brought to Africa. While the ship was stopped, the two managed to escape, running and ending up on Anikira.
Personality: Zenzi’s personality is that of what most people call the perfect mother. She is extremely level headed, this coming from the lessons her mother taught her after being chased from their pack. She was taught to always give everyone an even chance, never rushing decisions and opinions. Thanks to helping loners take care of pups, she has also grown patient and motherly, something that only strengthened when she had pups of her own. However, she isn’t a pushover like her personality would suggest. If you mess with someone she cares about, Zenzi will attack with tooth and claw. On top of this all, she can have a few trust issues based on her past, but she tries her hardest not to let that get in the way.
Now that she has been ripped from everything and everyone she knows Zenzi is more likely to be on edge. But, who wouldn’t be? Her easy going personality will now have a few more bumps in it as she adjusts to the new environment and lack of friends and settles herself once more. It is also a great possibility that she will have nightmares or flashbacks to being captured for the next few weeks or even months.
