History: The story of Sol and Dire start off far from Anikira in the north. Were they were born just seconds from each other, Sol the oldest (but Dire likes to act like he is the oldest), in a land that did not look kindly upon the two of them. They only lasted with their parents for a short while before they went their separate ways. Right from the start, the two brothers did not get along. Although they were identical to look at, it wasn't hard to tell them apart once you got to know them. Sol was the type to hide his feelings and was more calm than Dire who was more rash and hot headed. They often would get into fights over something stupid and would separate - but somehow they would always cross paths again. It seemed they both knew what to do/say to piss each other off. It wasn't uncommon for the two of them to have full blown fights with each other, but it seemed no matter what happened, they always came together again.
However one night, after an argument that they no longer could recall, the two of them fought, near the roaring ocean. They were not paying attention to what was going on around them. Not too far apart was a ship that was selling illegal animals to Singapore, for who knows what. The shipmates were curious to what was causing such a ruckus soon stumbled upon the two brothers. Two healthy large wolves could bring in some nice money, so it didn't take long for them to decide to capture them. If the two brothers were paying attention & actually cooperated and worked together, they probably could have easily overtook the humans, but because that wasn't the case, they were caged quickly and hauled into the underbelly of the ship. It was dark, wet and dreary as they were locked in a small cage, unsure of where their fate lay.
The next months dragged on. Dire fought back whenever he could and therefore often got quiet a beating most of the time, which only pissed him off more. Him and Sol hardly spoke to each other, there was nothing to talk about, and plus it wasn't as if they were the best of pals as it is. Dire just wanted to be free once more.
One day (or night?) the sailors came down and opened the cage door, Dire was sleeping soundly and awoke abruptly and was just about to jump out to escape, when something was thrown into the cage with him and Sol. It didn't take long for Dire to realize that the stupid sailors had thrown a bear in the cage with the two brothers. The bear quickly turned around and looked right at Dire, Dire lowered his body and snarled his teeth at him. But, even though Dire was strong and very powerful, he was hungry, beaten and bruised for the past few months - and this bear was quite strong and quickly brought Dire down, ripping at him and clawing. For an instant, Dire believed he was going to die, but then suddenly Sol jumped right in. Dire stood there in shock for a moment, before quickly going after the bear. For the first time, the two of them worked together, and it didn't take long to bring down the bear. Dire just stood at his brother in disbelief, having gained a new found respect for his brother.
It wasn't long afterwards though, that did the ship suddenly shook, and Dire could only assume they had hit something. The ship came to a halt and the two brothers had no idea what was going on. It wasn't long before the men came down and began to carry the animals onto the deck. The bright sun was almost too much for Dire to take. One of the mens, kicked at the cage, and apparently in their drunken slumber from before, didn't latch it properly and the cage swung open. Dire and Sol looked at each other for a split second, before they quickly sprinted out from the cage and onto the deck of the ship. They were quickly followed by the sailors, but taste of freedom, made the two of them too quick and it wasn't long before they both jumped overboard and into the ocean.
When Dire awoke, he was next to his brother, on the shore of an unknown land, the ship no longer in sight. It seemed like they were free at least.
Personality: Dire isn’t the type of wolf that you want to mess with. He is brutal and aggressive and won’t hesitate to fight. He loves a challenge and won’t back down. He is ruthless and downright nasty. The only other wolf that can keep him somewhat cool is his twin brother Sol, who is the only wolf he truly cares about. He will defend his brother to the end. He likes to do his own thing and has problems following anyone else’s command, believing his way is always the best. Goliath is the only other wolf beside his brother he will listen to, but that is because he has free reign to cause as much chaos that he wants, and he gets a thrill out of it. Dire hates those that are weaker than him and those that are lazy, and will constantly bully anyone he feels that is beneath him (which is almost anybody). When it comes to female, Dire loves the ladies, but he never lets them get too close. Falling in love is a weak emotion and he doesn’t have any time to be weak. He believes it’s his duty to populate Anikira with his seed, because after all he is a superior being.
However, despite the fact that Dire is a seemingly heartless wolf, he is very loyal and will fight for his pack to the death if he has too. He strongly believes in the ideals of Kairos, he has pride and regards traditions highly and will not tolerate anyone who mocks or breaks them. So even with all his down-falls, you can always count on him in the end (to a certain extent of course). If someone meets up to all his expectations (they are strong, not pansies, loyal and not lazy) then he will be somewhat able to get along with them. (But he is a natural grump and can be snappy at times.) Sol is the only one who seems like he can truly tolerate Dire’s rather drastic behavior and it’s rather unknown why the two brothers are able to get along so well, despite the obvious personality differences.
