History: To understand Vengeance, or Ven, as his mother so lovingly called him, you must first understand where it was that he came from. He was born here in Anikira to an older female wolf, Chapel, who was nearing her tenth year of life. She was a loner, having never been a member of a pack before in her life though her mother before her had been a member of a pack which has since dismantled. His grandmother's name was Aliah and she wasn't a very smart wolf. She was low ranked to begin with but when she went off and had an affair with a lone male wolf, his name unknown, she was lowered to the lowest rank possible - an omega. The alphas were very offended. No one in the pack, aside from themselves, were allowed to have pups without permission and it was very difficult to get permission from them. They were strict alphas who took rules seriously. They warned Aliah early on that, if she wound up pregnant, than she was going to be exiled from the pack and would be killed on sight if she ever came back into their territory. Of course, she ended up pregnant. She was not even allowed to stay in the pack to give birth. The day they found out she was pregnant, Aliah was forced from the camp and to the very edge of the pack's territory.
Aliah struggled on her own, having grown used to having a pack to take care of her, and, in the end, it wasn't enough to keep her alive for very long. She survived long enough to take care of her pups, however. There were three of them, all girls. Chapel, Penny, and Carmina. It was a struggle to raise them on her own but she tried her best. She survived a year before she eventually passed away and the three girls ended up going their separate ways. Vengeance does not know if they are still alive or not. He never bothered to ask about them, only learning their names after a moonlit conversation when he was five months old.
Anyway, Chapel wandered aimlessly from place to place, avoiding packs because she had always been quite the shy gal. She met other loners here and there... that's where the trouble began. There was this one wolf, Serbia, a male, who took an interest in her. They courted for a bit but one day Chapel found Serbia with another female and broke it off. He was not happy about that.
Vengeance's conception was an accident with a random wolf whose name she never bothered to tell Ven. Chapel had been lonely one night and this young, attractive male came around and, well. She wasn't so lonely after that. It wasn't the first time that she had sex and she figured there must have been something wrong with her reproductive system because she never got pregnant. She never expected to get pregnant at the age she was - nearly ten years old - but it happened. And it was hard on her body. She produced only two pups. Vengeance and his stillborn sister, a tiny milk white female who Chapel named Truce. She buried the stillborn pup outside of the den she gave birth in and then focused on Ven.
They had a good relationship. He was a total mama's boy, always wanting to be by her side, and she adored him. They would talk and talk and talk. Back then, Ven was very curious and excitable about the world. He always wanted to explore and play and Chapel would let him though sometimes he had to play by himself while Chapel napped because she was weak, having never fully recovered from her pregnancy and Ven's birth.
It happened when he was almost a year old, just a few weeks shy of his first birthday, actually. He was down at the creek just a bit aways from the den he had called home his whole life when he heard his mother's voice. No, her scream. Alarmed, he rushed back to her only to find that she had been killed. Vengeance was distraught, crying out and trying to wake his mother up despite her pretty gray pelt being covered in blood. She never did wake up.
Finding himself suddenly alone for the first time in his life, Vengeance was unsure of what to do. He surrounded his mother's body in pretty flowers and pebbles, telling her that he loved her one last time, and then he left. He did the cliche thing, vowing to find his mother's killer and bring them to justice.
Personality: Growing up, Ven was a very happy and playful boy. He never left his dear mother alone for more than a few minutes at a time and always brought her back something pretty - a flower or a shiny pebble he found in the creek that ran outside their little, private den. Chapel dotted on him, her only son, her only surviving child. Vengeance never grew an interest in joining a pack, something that sticks with him to this day, because the only wolf he ever knew for so long was his mother - his sweet, sweet mother. He is gentle and kind and compassionate, Chapel having taught him to love nature and respect it because, without Mother Nature, the mighty wolves would not exist. That being said, it doesn't stop him from feeling a fierce and rather terrifying need to find whoever it was that murdered his mother and do the same to them. How he'll do it, Ven has no idea. He's not a fighter. His mother was old and sickly when he was born so he never even did much playfighting. They went for short walks or cuddled while she told him stories about her life or just made up little tales to keep him entertained. Ven misses those moments so much. He misses having someone to curl up with at night, feeling their warmth against his skin. He hates being alone. Loneliness isn't something that he is used to. After his mother's death, he grew very depressed. He lacks proper social skills and is awkward upon meeting others. In fact, he tends to avoid other wolves at all costs, unsure of what to do or say. He is submissive by nature, despite his name.
