SPEECH.
It was a chilly night. The wind was more biting than usual for the southerly island, despite the fact that this particular location was quite northerly, and very close to the cool sea. The clouds hung low over the earth, gathering to exterminate the moonlight. The stars blinked out, and chose instead to hide behind greater lights. The whole world shivered in the eerie quiet. The trees grew sparse, and even the underbrush became faint. Rocks became more and more numerous, and the terrain became quite harsh. Even the wildlife had vanished on that still, quiet, cold night.
Only one, single creature could be seen for miles. It was a rather small wolf; it could easily have been mistaken for a dog or some kind of hybrid. Only the thick neck and long, bushy tail distinguished it's wolf heritage. It's coat was bathed in snow. Some little light grey ran throughout his coat, but was only slightly visible this night because of the absolute darkness. The black of the night pulled those greys out, presenting them to the eye, where normally, they were so light that they didn't appear as anything but white. One strange marking painted this male, and that was that the snow on his tail faded to a black tip. However, with this marking, the blackness of the night disguised it instead of bringing it to attention. For the tip of his tail, at the very darkest, was as black as the night around him. From a distance, it almost appeared as if his tail simply faded away, as if he had gained some injury that tore his tail. And, to top it all off, the very portals into this creature's soul were the most unique, odd thing about him. More odd than his markings. At a distance, they appeared grey as mist, or as a rain-saturated cloud. Not dark, but not light, necessarily. However, upon closer inspection, or simply by gazing into his eyes for long enough, one could detect the mystical hues of blue. They swirled into the grey like a spiraling painting.
This one such ghost trepidly advanced through the last of Nyjoro's graceful slopes. His small, soft white paws encountered the harsher terrain in a way that was neither eager nor unwilling. In fact, he hardly noticed the change in terrain. The psychological state of his mind was such that he was almost completely unaware of his surroundings. His ears were completely useless to him. His head was filled with so much noise that every other physical sound around him was lost. Not that there was very much noise around him.
Shrieks, screams, howls, growls; the sound of ripping flesh, pain, and disaster reverberated in his skull. He had no idea where he was, or in what direction he was going in. The only thing he knew was the growing voices rising in his head. You couldn't do it, could you? If it had turned into anything, you would have grown faint and fled. He shook his head vigorously. No! I'm different, now! Give me a chance! Ha! A second chance? Really? And how have you come to this conclusion? Yeah! How? You've lived in seclusion since-- NO. Are you afraid? How could it get any worse?
The wolf fought the episode that was rising rather quickly. Quicker than steady, and definitely at a faster pace than was usual. What he had was already overwhelming him like a tidal wave. I can't take it! Tears welled up in his eyes and he shut them in an attempt to block out the images that were fast arising to them. STOP!
But it couldn't be stopped.
Since they died. Kismet. Inaya--
And with those final words, Kamikaze was thrown.
KAZE!!!!
She stood there, all glory. Brown, black, tawny, grey; a mottled mix of colors that mainly displayed hues of browns. Absolutely gorgeous. Her grey eyes shown brightly as her bell-like tones described all sorts of herbs. It was truly interesting. Truly. A small white pup glanced up, smiling intelligently, to watch his mother speak. A red slash appeared in his vision across her body, and then, in a second, a massive bear came crashing down onto all fours. In his jaws, he held a crumpled, broken, bleeding mass of fur.
NOOO!!!!!!!
A white flash streaked past the pup. The bear dropped it's cargo, and moved to fight the challenger. The little pup's eyes couldn't help but wonder to his dead mother's eyes. The image of her eyes, focused on nothing, was immediately imprinted into his mind. He was only able to look away at the terrible scream emitted by his father. His head swirled to see the bear crush his body. Yet his father fought on, not completely dead yet. Unable to take another moment, the pup turned tail and fled.
KAZE!
He shut his eyes.
His mother stood, smiling. His mother lay, dead.
He watched the same scene repeating, over and over and over.
And then an adult, albino female wolf appeared before his eyes. Kamikaze opened his eyes quite suddenly, and a jolt of shock shot through his heart. A yelp of surprise escaped him as he very suddenly halted his steps. He had almost walked himself off the edge of Zozyr's Glory. His snowy paws dangled half-on and half-off the cliff's edge. His heart raced wildly in his chest, and the voices became silent in an instant. Kayi, you've saved my life.
Slowly, the male made his way down the cliff, eyes ever remaining on the ocean before him. Something about this place jogged his memory, but he couldn't remember what it was. It bothered him steadily, and he became distracted by it. He made his way until he came to a cavern that was hidden by some underbrush. Curiously, he pushed through the undergrowth. Suddenly, he came upon a strong scent, and stopped. What had he happened upon?
