To any other wolf this would be beautiful, but it's appeal was lost on the male that walked along the waters edge. His image fuzzy and distorted in the rippling liquid..just like his life was now. He tried pushing others away but the protectiveness he felt toward them drew the mottled male to them. Just like the wounded Phoenix. Odd companions were made but none the less a bond was forged. Who knew how strong.
Melodic bird songs filled the air, happy buzzing of insects around his head. But he ignored them all, he had no influence on them. Whether or not he was here, they would still sing. He didn't matter. A sigh escaped his lips as he walked onward.
Stormy blue eyes looked up from the ground as he surveyed the area, scents of others reached his nose but he didn't feel the need to investigate them. Why bother them?
A pause to lap up some cold clear water. A simple thing really but somehow made him feel better, lighten his spirits. Odd really. Looking up again he actually looked at the landscape, the way the colors danced over the waters. He sat and stared, lost in his own little world where thoughts and imagination fused with reality.
A rare smirk crossed his face, briefly but certainly there. How long had it been since he just stopped everything? Stopped worrying, battering himself with damnation and self-loathing. He couldn't remember. This moment wouldn't last long before something set him off again, he knew that. Soon he would be guilty for allowing himself a slight respite...but now right now.
Dark tipped ears began to flicker back and forth, listening for assumed attackers, a behavior he learned early on. Never agin did he wish to be caught off guard. He would be prepared for anything! A warriors heart and fighters strength he had worked hard to maintain would not go to waste.
