Two steely grey eyes opened early in the morning. Thanatos was exhausted, as he had been traveling lately to find somewhere to create a pack--the pack that his brother, Kuruk, desired to form. He had no idea where Kuruk was, and every day that passed was starting to become crippling with anxiety and fear. He had no idea what was going on, why he had left, and if... if he was alive. Every day, he searched and searched, but Kuruk was nowhere to be found. He had never thought of the possibility of living without Kuruk. Sure, he may have thought that he disliked his brother, or that he needed some space from him, but it was in these times of separation that he really began to understand what he really felt towards Kuruk. And in this moment, Thanatos missed him. It was as if a part of him had vanished into thin air, and the thought of loosing a loved one again was too overbearing for him. He had lost his parents, and now Kuruk. He did not want to lose Nova, or Kiara. So he decided to create a pack in Kuruk's honor, and to give Nova and Kiara what they deserve--a place where they can be happy, and a place where they can start fresh.
Thanatos stretched as he lazily stood up from his den as he saw the sleeping figures of Nova and Kiara next to him. Smiling at them, Thanatos sighed and then looked at the blue skies above him. Thanatos had never truly believed in a higher being, but his brother did, despite everything that he had done. This being... he was the Great Spirit, and they had been raised with the belief that this being had created everything they could ever see. Even the ones they could not. And Thanatos, as oddly scientific as he is, always thought that the notion was foolish and a possible fairy tale... but right now, without Kuruk, the only thing he had was to hope and pray to this Great Spirit. Maybe he would return Kuruk safely back to him, and maybe things could get better... Even if Thanatos at first had doubted of the Spirit, he now was waking up every day praying to him for Kuruk's safety and for guidance in what he was planning to do.
Thanatos had spoken to his new family about his plans to search for a perfect place to call home. After kissing Nova and Kiara goodbye, he left to search for the promised land. As he traveled, he visited and saw many places, but as he walked further to the north, he had to occasionally take shelter because the night often surprised him. He often found himself walking, searching, and suddenly looking at his surroundings only to find himself walking in darkness. Time was surely moving fast, and there was still no hope for the multicolored, scarred brute. Four days into the voyage, he made a stop in the lands known as Tiayr, in the beautiful Nyjoro Hills, to gather his strength and maybe catch something to eat. At the distance, he saw a group of elk and one that was behind--an injured baby, probably attacked by another wolf, or maybe another predator.
He approached, stalking his prey and hiding in the dancing blades of grass until he was close enough. He leaped onto his pray and with great force, he bit the elk's neck until it stopped fighting and perished. Thanatos began to eat, filling his stomach with the delicious elk he was eating and enjoying. He ate most of it and left the rest behind, licking the blood off his maw before proceeding to explore. Thanatos began to make observations--there was food here, good water supply, beautiful sceneries, and well... this place felt peaceful. Oddly peaceful. It was something one couldn't simply explain, just experience. His legs soon brought him to Zozyr's Glory, a beautiful beach filled with cliffs and dangerous beauty.
Sitting in the shore, he dipped his face and legs to cleanse the blood off his fur, and then sat down, admiring the scenery. For a moment, he wished Nova and Kiara were here to witness this with him, but he had to remind himself that they were going to live here alongside him, and they would witness this every day. Sighing, he watched the waves come and go as he played with the sand with his toes, as if he were expecting something, for some odd reason...
@leilah Wooo! <3 Yay for liquid time. xD This is set right after the One Family under the Sun thread, just when Thanatos arrived to Tiayr.
