The time had come for the alpha to make the long trek to Acerbus with his daughter Naivara. She was six months old now which meant it was time for her to be taken to Kairos and be traded for one of their pups. It was an odd arrangement and not something Severus would typically do, but this alliance with Kairos secured Ultoris’s safety which they desperately needed since they were low in numbers. Though it ensured the pack’s safety, it wasn’t highly liked, especially by Naivara’s mother and the alpha’s mate Vixen. When Severus told her of the arrangement, she pleaded with him to not take away her daughter. The tundra felt bad about the hurt this was causing his mate, especially since he had to also reveal that he had mated with another female, but their litter was the only one that was produced this breeding season so he didn’t have a choice but to take his own blood to be traded.
They had started out early yesterday morning after the bright rays from the early sun had awoken Severus. It was going to be a long trek so Severus had decided it was best to leave early. He vividly remembered having to wake up Naivara who was snuggled up to Vixen fast asleep and how hard it was to pry mother and daughter apart. The sorrow filled goodbyes tore at his heart strings, but he knew that he had to go forward with this, it was set in stone and he couldn’t go back on his words.
The first day of travel had gone relatively smoothly for the pair only traveled through the unclaimed lands of I’queyer. The entirety of their venture through there had taken place in the Chamoru plains which was a vast grassland that covered almost the entire territory which made for an easy trek. It was also a beautiful day with clear skies and a light breeze that countered the hot temperatures which made the not so enjoyable journey a little more enjoyable.
Though they had the entire day to travel, Severus made the decision that they would save the trek through Kamari until tomorrow due to the fact that last he had heard, it was claimed by a pack that was named Descai and traveling through claimed lands could prove to be difficult so both Severus and Naivara would need all the energy that they had to make the trek through Kamari fast. So before the sun began to set, Severus veered off course briefly to get some dinner for the two of them. Though he was hoping for a deer, the only scent he had come across was that of a hare’s. He followed its scent until it was in his line of sight, and then he went in for the attack as he snapped the hare’s neck, killing it. The taste of its blood made Severus realize how hungry he was, but he knew that Naivara would need it more than he did, so he offered the hare to her and ate the little bit that was left of the carcass after his daughter had had her fill. After he had finished eating, the two of them found a nearby tree and laid down under it and the two of them fell asleep.
Severus woke up early the next morning, once again being awoken by the rays of the rising sun. “Naivara, it’s time to get up dear,” he cooed to his daughter. Once she woke up, it was obvious that she was still exhausted from yesterday’s travels, but the two of them had to press on. “Now you stay close to me and try your best to keep up. We need to make our trek through he as fast as possible for these lands aren’t a safe place to be,” he told her daughter before they headed off into the lands of Kamari. Severus didn’t know how big Kamari was but he wanted to get out of here as soon as possible so he kept up a fast pace, and thankfully Naivara was able to keep up for the most part. There were a couple times were she had stopped and voiced her need to rest, but he was able to get her to press through her exhaustion and by evening, they were in the lands of Acerbus with a vast forest welcoming them. Though Severus wasn’t intruding, he still stopped right in his tracks once they had entered the forest out of respect. He had never met Goliath who was the alpha of Kairos, so he was being overly cautious, not wanting to screw up the alliance and lose Ultoris’s newfound security.
“Goliath, it is me, Severus, alpha of Ultoris, and I am here to present you with my daughter,” he howled into the air.
OCC: Sorry if I am a bit rusty. We are using liquid time since they are older than 6 months now. As for the posting order, I so ask that Zen reply with Goliath first and then Rita with Xena and then the pups if that works for everyone else.
