History:
Her mother, the once proud beta of her pack, had been reduced to a loner. Driven from her pack by an ambitious and overly jealous female that had suddenly presented herself at the borders of Suaimhneas's lands. She and the alpha had greeted that wolfess, it had been a wild afternoon, full of storms, and something else, something much deeper. For it had been amid the thundering rain that the alpha had finally admitted his love for his beta and they had consumated their love. It had been in the lull of the storm that the alpha had heard a trespassers call. And he had answered, with his newly admitted love at his side.
Suaimhneas came to despise that day with a bitter rage that slowly computed her. For it had been a young beautiful thing that had stumbled across their lands, with an innocent act that the beta saw through in an instant the alpha accepted the wanderer into the folds of their pack. She had been a sleek dark thing who quickly enticed the alpha, stealing his attention and apparently his heart from his cream colored beta.
Weeks passed, then months while Suaimhneas attempted, in vain, to hid the result of that shattered lie. But even as the black rose in ranks just as swiftly as she rose in the hearts of the pack and it's alpha she schemed. It was she who first noticed the betas pregnancy, she who had whispered into the alphas ear. Turned him against the wolf he had once claimed to have loved more then there were stars in the sky.
And so amid a tempest that racked the land the alpha had found her, deep in the throes of labor. And even then his heart was shut to her pleas, shut to the love for him that had spilled from her mew. He had only met such emotions with fury and fang, driving her farther and farther until she could run no more and into a rain swollen river she had vanished.
Here one may think would end this tale, but the God's had other plans, while two pups drowned, swollowed before they could even take their first gasping breaths, Suaimhneas had found herself being spit out onto a rocky bank where her remaining two pups would begin their lives.
They would be born into a world that would hate them, to a mother who could not even look at them without flying into a fit of rage or burst into uncontrollable fits of whining and sorrow.
Gailleann was the youngest of the two remaining pups, though in attitude she was by far the oldest. Always stepping in to take the brunt of their mothers anger. While Díoltas was of a sweet nature, empathic and easily hurt, the complete opposite of her name sake. Tempest and Revenge, their mother had once entertained the chance to use her two daughters would return to avenge their shunned mother. A dream that never came to fruition.
A year or so had passed, and despite her mother's kaleidoscope emotions, the broken Suaimhneas still managed to teach her daughters how to survive, to hunt.
It had been dusk when Gailleann had returned from a successful hunt, 2 rabbits clenched in her jaws. One for her sister and one for her mother, her own long since settled in her belly. She had heard the tell tail signs of her mother in a rage long before she drew close to the den. The rabbits had been dropped and forgotten and she ran, full ground eating strides that ended in a wild skid of her bodily slamming her mother off her sister.
Dazed, Suaimhneas lay on the ground a few feet away panting while Gailleann gently nosed her sisters prone form. Díoltas panted painfully but managed to lick her sisters muzzle, assuring her that she was fine. Their mother would then curl in upon herself whimpering and whining as if in unbareable pain. This was only one in dozens of sudden unexplainable attacks Suaimhneas preformed until one day she had simply vanished while the sisters slept.
They never heard from their mother again, though truth be told neither held much sorrow for that fact. It had been pity that filled their hearts for her, not love. With nothing left chaining them to that place of sorrow and rage the pair left. For half a year they walked, ran, hunted, experienced pure freedom for the first time in their lives. In a bid to keep that freedom their goal was an island where no man walked. The Isle of Anikira, the place their mother had mentioned only once. The island she had been driven from.
It is here where their lives are once again changed by the God's in the form of wild storms. Taking shelter in the ruined hull of a ship the pair curled up together, intent on sleeping the storm away. But while they slept the abandoned hull of that ship found itself afloat, carried with the flash floods out to sea. Amid the thrashing waves and screaming winds of a hurricane the sisters were thrown about, woken from their deep slumber into a world of complete confusion and chaos. Cowaring and crying what happened next would shatter every carefully laid plan they had ever held. With a great creak and a shuddering groan the ship split sending Díoltas to one side and Gailleann to the other, seperating them. Even as they fought to return to the others side the ship broke apart, the waves ripping the hulls apart as swiftly as they had torn the sisters from one another.
Despite the thrashing waters whose bitter taste did not even come close to the bitter anguish in her heart, Gailleann managed to find a board to climb half way on and there she would collapse and cry, howling with grief and sorrow straining for a chance to hear a returning call. But that hope never was granted. Days would pass until dehydrated, and heart sick she caught sight of an island, as the currents pulled her makeshift raft closer she realized it was their goal. The island of Anikira. It was a bittersweet victory for Díoltas was nolonger at her side. Still the spark of hope had been lit. Prehaps she to had found the island, and was even now looking for her. With that hope Gailleann would have lept into the waters swimming desperately for shore, intent on searching the whole of the vast island. Seeking her lost sister.
Personality:
In the shadows of ones' soul, in the hidden confines of the heart, you discover who they truely are. For good or evil, their actions dictate the path their lives take. It is no different for this young wolf. While she was born with an almost unearthly grace, this is not what defined her, nor was the proper was she spoke. Poised in elegance, an innocence that was worn like a delightful cloak hiding the true nature of this beast. Much like her name sake there was more to this female the what a first impression would allow. Turmoil and chaos burned in fierce passions, colliding in a wild tempest within that could be glimpsed in the light of her eyes, kept in check by an iron will. But still there was an even deeper layer that remained hidden from all, a shyness that belied the confidence that fit her like a glove. A heart that held no scars, untethered by the oppressive trials of survival. Thats not to say she did not experience her own share of sorrow, but she held an uncanny ability to understand what others may not, to look beyond the immediate thread and at the whole of the tapestry.
