History: Born to small pack on the coast of Africa, Yang and his sister were the product of decent union. He terms it as such because their parents were not deeply in love but they managed well together in a semi-normal way to raise their children in a stable environment. The pack had been eager to welcome new pups into the ranks as it wasn't very often to have Successful births among them due to harsh conditions and 'flat out bad luck' as their father used to say, which had apparently plagued the pack for quite some time. The twins were seen as a new dawning for them, a promise that things were turning around and would soon begin to prosper again.
From the very beginning Yin and Yang were close and no one thought anything of it. After all they were all each other had in ways of play mates and companions during their tender young age. But as they grew older, the pack began to chaff at the siblings, having expected them to let go of each other and branch out to fulfill different positions. But they only seemed to have grown closer. Able to communicate without a word passing between them during hunts, sharing private jokes none of the others understood, and so on had began to cause bitterness and suspicion among the family. The previous behavior of adoration and songs of the twins being the saviors had turned sour by the time they reached a year of age. Replacing them were murmurs of them being a curse from the Great Wolf, possessed creatures that would inevitably wipe out the pack unless they were dealt with mercilessly.
By the time the twins were a year and a half, the very pack they grew up with turned on them viciously. All but one. Their mother was the only one who understood the connection between them as being as simple and innocent as brotherly/sisterly love and nothing more, certainly nothing unnatural. During the uprising, she lost her life trying to protect her children and attempt to calm the angered wolves, buying time for the mismatched siblings to get a slight head start towards the ocean. Yang had thought to try and fight them off on his own, his temper flaring at the loss of their mother and danger to his sister. In her calming way, the way she alone is capable of, Yin pulled her brother out of his blind rage and convinced him to run with her into the cold, salty waters.
Splashing into the waves with death on their heels, the twins swam hard along the shore, each time they attempted to touch land, they were met with violent hatred from the trailing members of their birth pack. Finally, they turned away from the land they knew and out into the unknown, expecting that they would eventually tire out and drown but that was preferable than being torn to shreds by the ones they used to call family.
But the end was not as they had thought. An island appeared on the horizon. Pulling each other along mentally, they cheered each other on with hardly a word passing between them until finally they touched the sandy shores in exhaustion. Pulling his drenched form onto the shore next to his sister, Yang's tiredness did not stop him from wondering what was next for the siblings. They were alone now. Completely alone.
A single howl was heard in the distance, almost like it was speaking directly to the seawater sodden twins. Hearing warmth in its tone, Yang was compelled to follow it, find the one who issued it and perhaps offer loyalty in return for protection if they would accept the twins for what they were - special.
Personality: Yang is made of many things, intertwined together so tightly that it makes up the wolf whom Yin calls Brother.
This male is protective to nearly a fault, especially of his sister whom is his ultimate best friend. He can't stand to see her hurt so takes the extra measure to ensure her safety even if the danger is simply imagined by him.
Opposite to quiet and gentle Yin, Yang is a hot head and quick to take offense. His temper is strong and some would say fearsome. When he gets in such a state, he often loses his sense of reason and patience goes out the window. Most he has encountered during such a fit either have run in fear or ended up hurt, except of course the dark girl who can soothe his rages and bring him back to the world of order with a quiet word or soft touch. He often has joked that he would set the world on fire if it wasn't for Yin's ability to quell his rage.
He is also impulsive which can of course get him into some tight spots, even when he didn't mean to cross someone.
A policy of honesty on his lips and the willingness to serve for the good of those he call friends, Yang does what he can to help out.
With the exception of his touchy moods and bad past experience from his birth pack, Yang likes to socialize with others. The busy and energetic atmosphere is the stimulation his mind needs to keep from going stark raving mad, long periods of silence makes him edgy and at times terse because he feels there is nothing for him to do.
Yet not all quiet is bad. He adores sun bathing and the quiet nature of his sister is calming.
Earn his trust and he becomes a loyal friend and honest companion, however his sister will always come first.
Some say their relationship is an odd one and that may be true but the siblings have always been close to each other. If separated, which is rare, Yang becomes edgy and worrisome as his concern over what may be happening to his precious sister is at the constant forefront of his mind.Image:
