Much had changed within himself over the months he had spent completing his Agoge. He had used the majority of his time in the Vor'asa territory completing his own journey from pup to adult. He knew that he was still only a year old, but there was something different about him. The time away from his family had hardened him. The world was no longer a pretty place where he could see the light and hope in everything. He had seen the hardships that the land away from Ina'mos held, but he did not regret the chain of events that had opened his eyes. No he had learned too much to ever regret his time there. When he had first left he had been so resentful of leaving his mother and siblings. His craving for glory only came in second to the love he felt for his family, his mother. She had always been his greatest ally in everything that he had done. He trusted her more than he did anyone, even his own father. The giant of a brute had barely been there for his childhood, but his mother had always been a constant in his life. Morrigan and Nimue had left before his own adventure had begun, Croix was now completing his own Agoge, and Fawn was probably still on the island. He held some affection for his siblings, but he had siblings and half-siblings to spare. Getting his egg had been an easy enough task once he had formulated a plan to storm the eagle's nest. The training that he had undergone was to discipline himself. He was a warrior now and that meant that he could not allow him to be sloppy, not in his strategy, or how he carried out his strategy. The eagle seeed to stay on a consistent schedule of going to hunt before returning to roost on her brood. He had made sure to get as close as he could to observe the mother. She had been much larger than he had ever thought to expect, her wingspan almost as long as he was. If she had felt so inclined she could have carried him away as her dinner. Hyperion hadn't been afraid of the cunning beast, no he held great respect for his opponent. He was stealing something very precious from her so he made sure not to disturb the rest of her brood. There had been three eggs in total within her nest, Hyperion had chosen the largest of the three. It was a well balanced egg that didn't tilt one way or the other. It was grey with bluish speckles coving the top of it. The shell was hardy and fragile all at once and Hyperion hoped that it would make the journey home.
Taking gentle steps towards the water he nudged the egg towards the churning water. No doubt it would be cold because of the winter season, but he hoped that the frigid water would not turn his egg sour. He had worked so very hard to get this far, to choose an egg that was surely the best of the bunch. It is heavy enough. It would be a difficult task making the swim and keeping the egg afloat, this was the end of this journey. He would soon begin another, but he had to survive this task first. Wading in he was fully submerged in the water in minutes. The egg was too large for him to carry it in his mouth so he kept it afloat by balancing it on his muzzle. It made it hard to breath and the salty water burned his lungs as he went. It seemed like hours passed before he finally caught sight of his beloved Ina'mos. His legs began to kick faster, his breath wheezing out of his lungs as he pushed forward. He had to be gentle with his prize as he stepped from the icy sea, but finally he had made it onto the shore. Shuffling his egg further up the beach he made sure that it wouldn't tumble back into the treacherous water. It took him long minutes to catch his breath before he looked over his homeland. It looked just the same as when he had left, he didn't expect anything to be different here, the only differences he thought to expect were in himself. Shaking the salt water from his pelt he did his best to adjust tot he cold air that seemed to cut straight through his pelt. Damn it was good to be home. Raising his muzzle to the sky he let out an almighty howl of triumph calling out to any that would answer. He knew that there was a ceremony that had to be followed in order for him to complete his Agoge so he would wait here for whomever would reply to his call. His father or even his uncles were all candidates for him to present his egg to but deep in his heart he knew that there was someone else that he wanted to see. The only face that he had missed during his travel. Messoria. Hers was the first face he wanted to see as he finally allowed himself to rest knowing that after months he was home.
