History: There was joy in the air! A muted excitement amongst the pack as they awaited the announcement of the newest additions to the beautiful island of Anikira. Whisper quiet squeals reached outside of the dim cavern to the awaiting group, heralding the four new lives that were just born. Many couldn't wait to see the precious little babes but time alone would show them the sweet faces of long awaited pups. Gatherers of food for the new mother and pups couldn't help but fawn over them, full of love and tenderness.
The pups grew quickly, strong and sturdy, the pride and joy of the pack to have four healthy youngsters to carry on the legacy. Finally they were allowed to step out into the sun, meet the world and begin their lessons of becoming proper wolves in the family. However, the two youngest seemed to already have other plans. Curiously close to each other, Vashti and her barely older brother Vidarii, didn't seem to care about meeting their pack mates or bother to try and stay calm. Instead they bounced around, pouncing, wrestling and running (or trying to) around their new world that now reached far beyond the confines of their den. This is where the cute little pups began to show they were different.
Now it is normal for pups to be mischievous and playful but this duo took things much further than that. Almost always together, they plotted and executed numerous pranks but never received discipline. Perhaps a disappointed look or a quiet tsk-tsk from their elders, but that was the worst that would happen while they were still fluffy pups. The elders seemed to think they would grow out of it, become serious contributors to society once this foolishness had run it's course.
However, the Elders were proven wrong as Dare and Vash grew older. Punishments quickly became harsher, but it didn't hinder their spirit. Vashti learned to use her tongue and witty mind to confuse and often redirect their initial intentions, while Vidarii learned to become innocent and sweet. Together they became a team in escaping punishments as well as partners in crime.
Because of how close they were, hunting became more of a game instead of a task, since they worked together so smoothly they're was no need for much planning ahead of time. Vashti found she greatly enjoyed hunting alongside her favorite sibling, but if she was forced to hunt with another, she found it tedious and would become terse with whomever was supposed to be her partner. It wasn't long before Vidarii was her only companion. She didn't talk like most, calling herself by name or weaving a web of words that seemingly no one but Dare could understand. The 'normal' way was boring and held no enjoyment for her. As a girl where fun must be had, she developed her own patterns and simply didn't care if anyone liked it. This sparked the rage of her so called family, but Vidarii was her shield. Bravely taking blows meant for her, he doubled his own punishment willingly as he also spoke in a curious manner that he never deviated from. Never understanding why such rage was flung at them, Vashti only did her best to care for Vidarii after the beatings. Life went on like this for them but no amount of pain or anger from the pack could sever their connection. In fact they only grew closer, plotted more and tricked endlessly.
Even though life wasn't fair, they never schemed to hurt anyone but accidents still happen. One cold season when the wind bit through the fur and ice glittered all around, their fates would change forever. Having hunted ahead of the pack, they caught a hare which normally would have been seen as not much of a prize but this winter proved very difficult and the small creature was a precious thing indeed. Seeing an opportunity to good to miss, they lead the pack on a winding long trail to a cliff. Not realizing it was a dangerous overhang of just snow mixed with ice, they dropped it by the edge and waited for the game to finish.
The first ones on the scene were their older siblings, Vashti simply smiled as she thought about the game they were playing. But tragedy struck. The ice broke and the fun turned dangerous. The duo ran towards the danger as well as the Elder who was also along for the hunt, for once Vash's unclear speech was cursed by her as she cried out a warning alongside the Elder but to no avail. Watching her sister fall to her death still haunts her. Her eldest brother seemed to survive but crippled for life from the accident. His leg snapped and hung useless from a scrap of skin, a promising warrior now had a dim future at best unless the cold had taken him.
The pranksters never knew what became of him, they were attacked on sight by the elder. Despite being older he was a seasoned warrior and quickly dealt quite a bit of damage. Once again her shield, Dare, saved her from the worst of it and led her far away from the pack and the danger.
Despite the tragedy, they continue to scheme and play but with more forethought and care. After all Anikira is only so big and they learned if plans aren't made thoroughly they will run out of places to flee
Personality: There is no simple way to describe the youngest of the litter, but then again her whole family was one of complexity in some manner. Having a Trickster older brother, Vashti followed in his footsteps as any adoring sister would.
As as a pup, her antics were quickly forgiven as 'the mischief of a pup' and there was no discipline for her actions since the adults figured she would just grow out of it. But all that taught her was she could do anything she wanted and that's exactly what she did. Before long, the pack tired of her jokes and she quickly learned the value of never directly answering a question. Besides if one can confuse thoroughly enough, the one who was angry in the first place may not even be able to recall why they were upset.
By the time they were a year, Vashti proved her own amongst the pack as being confusing and manipulative but also charming despite having a touch of vanity. Thick as thieves, Vashti and Vidarii were the root of many pranks, jokes and general mischief. She learned to become whatever she needed to be to escape the wrath of her parents, honing her skills as an actress.
However, as she grew older, Vashti cared less about what her parents thought and only bothered to be concerned about Vidarii. After all, they seemed to truly understand each other, despite his rhyming manner and her evasive, confusing speech it was a relationship that only they seemed to fathom.
While not cruel or evil, she does love to start trouble and watch the show start rolling. Friends are not her main concern, her only friend being her brother in reality, but she likes company and the opportunity to find out what makes others tick. A scheming vixen as herself gets bored quickly and must have something to occupy her time or else a fiery temper flares at one and all.
There is a heart hidden deep within the twisted vines of her schemes but hardly anyone had bothered to try and see it as they merely judge her as an immature rogue. She adores the young since they seem to share her energy as well as they seem more than willing to help in one of her plots most of the time.
She wants to have fun. 'If you can't see the humor in it then that's your loss.'
