Starlight. How was it that the stars were always so calm and peaceful? If only he knew what they were made of, perhaps his opinions and feelings about them would be different. But he had no way of knowing what they were, only guesses. Instead, he allowed the darkness that surrounded him to fill him with a strange peace as he made his way slowly up from the Eden territory and to the Zozyr's Glory. The cliffs were a favorite place of his, a spot where he could stare out at the ocean or the stars, or both at once. It gave him a calm and relaxing place to sit and just think, perhaps even figure out what exactly was wrong with him from time to time. He came here often, especially when he was upset. Tonight was not one of those instances, but it was still nice to simply stare up at the stars and relax. He always had trouble sleeping, but tonight he was wide awake.
So sitting and staring up at the sky was his only option. The pack, unlike some of the others within Anikira, was dwindling in numbers and activity. He had not seen many wolves around lately, nor had he seen the leader of their small group. But he hoped that would all change. A new face or two was popping up here and there, but he had never been the social butterfly that he had seen other wolves be. He preferred to avoid contact if possible, but he had gotten immensely better at controlling himself lately. In fact, when he first met a wolf, the thoughts would rise up inside of him, but they would never get further than that. He no longer drooled at the smell of blood, nor did he even think about sinking his teeth into another pack member. All in all he had done well and he had come a long way, somehow mostly on his own. He was proud of himself, but he could not bring himself to linger on his pride.
That would only take him a step backwards. No, he would move forward from here. Unlike other wolves of the pack, he had not actually been given visions of their greater power. But perhaps he would find him soon. Perhaps. With a heavy sigh, though, the male let himself sink down into a laying position, even going as far as to let his paws dangle over the edge of the cliff dangerously and crossing one over the other. With the majority of his body on solid ground he was not worried, and as he let his eyes gaze up at the stars, he could have sworn he could hear them whispering. Hold on, Elijah. Just hold on. He did not feel like he was physically falling, but he did feel like the support and encouragement that Than had given him when they'd first met was falling out from beneath him. But he was not going to let go, no, he had come much to far to give up now.
