Changes have become too severe in Anikira, and the wolves have been temporarily relocated to the Anikiran Southern Isles. Things have grown dire and unlivable on the mainland; it was time for outside intervention. Please be sure to review the full update on the staff board for more information!
The current season is fall in the Southern Isles. Due to their proximity to the equator, the region is still warm. There is currently no breeding and no birthing amongst the wolves
The black female shuffled her paws forward mindful of her surroundings. She did want to explore all of Valyn territory, but something about this place made the hair on her neck stand on end. Pushing forward she stood in the middle of broken stone that littered the ground. Observing she wondered what had caused it, an earthquake perhaps or maybe time. Soon there will be nothing here she thought distantly, even if she didn't really care. Whatever his place had been was of no concern to her - although maybe she could find someone who knew even though she doubted it.
Scenting the air she detected no one here and frowned, sitting down the dust made small clouds that made her sneeze. She didn't feel like being alone here I'm not afraid she scoffed, I just have a healthy dose of common sense. A small huff of air penetrated the normally comforting silence. Liar.
The thought sat in the air - taunting her before she rose. Pawprint left in the dust she walked a little ways scenting the air searching for company. The territory of this pack felt so large that it was almost stifling even if she didn't think it was half as large as some of the other packs. Maybe she would go visit the dens, but the air here felt wrong to her and she had no desire to linger.
Glancing deeper into the area she hesitated at the opportunity, prey most likely hid there. She wasn't hungry but hunting never hurt. She wasn't going to call a pack hunt - she had neither the authority nor the desire to do so. Still there were other places to hunt I don't have to be here. Sighing she fixed her gaze on more of the ruins and allowed small tentative steps to take her nearer, what kind of prey would she find here? A snake. rolling her eyes the female didn't rule it out, the thought continued with my luck I'll probably find three.
Instead of stopping her paws took her deeper.

There had been an influx of new members lately, and while Saphira had always thought herself to be an outgoing, caring, friendly individual, lately she felt the opposite. How was it that there were Valyn members she still did not know? What did she do with all her time besides meet members, see Malachi, try to help Valeria with the changes, think about Malachi, sulk about her father’s death, look for ways to sneak off and meet Malachi, and.. well.. It was now obvious to her where all her time was going. Keeping a one-sided relationship going was time-consuming! And then, of course, there were other questions, such as whether or not she should even pursue this or how one-sided it really was. So much was on her mind that she almost did not notice when she almost ran into a black wolf.
“Oh!” Saphira jerked her head back, her eyes closing tightly and nose wrinkling and if she had hit something with her face. She straightened herself up and babbled in an attempt to recover. “I am so sorry! I really should pay more attention where I’m going, but I guess I did not expect anyone to be here. Especially after.. well..” The last time she had been in this area of the territory it had been to be there in her father’s last moments and then seek out Valeria to inform her of his passing. And even though it had been a few weeks now, the thought still made her choke up. But perhaps other wolves did not know this or were not affected by it in the same way she was. How could they be? Especially the new wolves who joined “Valyn” not Descai, and never had a chance to know him. “But either way, my name is Saphira. And you are..?”
The arctic she-wolf took a moment to look over the other wolf, her coat, her markings, her vivid eyes, the posture she had held… And suddenly Saphira realized she had interrupted something. “Oh my goodness were you hunting something?” The dark wolf had obviously been crouching, and Saphira only felt a pang of guilt mixed with embarrassment at having disrupted what would have otherwise been a successful hunt, no doubt. Not that the virtue had ever cared much for the activity herself. There was the problem with it being messy, and then the problem of taking lives, but worst of all was that it was hardly more than a game of patience, and Saphira had never really attempted to pretend she was a particularly patient wolf. But hopefully she would not be too upset. Saphira hoped she could smooth things over.
Words: 446 Muse: good! Tags:Rassa Notes: Ok, so.. I hope this is an appeasement for the fact that I completely lost Veles muse for a while and haven’t responded in like 2 months. xD I promise it is on my list of stuff to get to. I haven’t abandoned it. I’m just also struggling to come up with something and really really busy irl. I’ll try to get to it soon, though. :3
The yearling sensed another wolf approaching her, but she paid it little mind. Most likely another pack member out for a solitary hunt. She doubted that their paths would cross or that the wolf would disrupt her hunt as she presumed that the wolf was hunting...herself, it's a female she remained crouched keeping any movement stilted. If her prey would be scared at a shadow then it was necessary to be quieter than one. She moved forward but was knocked off her paws and went tumbling through the dust as tiny clouds swirled up and stuck to her coat.
Within an instant she was back up with her legs underneath her despite her age she knew how to fight almost glaring at whoever had been stupid enough to simply barrel into her she softened her gaze slightly as the she wolf apologized.
A quick glance toward the she wolf revealed that her apology was most likely genuine, the female revealed gold points on her fur and eye, and she was more than twice her weight and could easily knock her over on accident. She almost shrugged at the rest of the femme's words. The black she wolf had no idea about the former alpha of Descai, and if she did she doubted that she would care what she did care about was what this female had hinted at occurring here. It doesn't matter, if she didn't tell you the first it's probably an uncomfortable question for her. She stored the information away for later.
Saphira, blue. The black female glanced at the one blue eye of Saphira. "Rassa." her speech was a short answer to Saphira's question. She supposed that she should introduce herself as part of a pack and her rank or lack of one she observed. But this female didn't look like a complete idiot even if her speech was a bit flustered, and Rassa knew that she wasn't so new that she didn't have the pack scent, and she had no desire to tell the other femme her rank.
Hiding her irritation at being interrupted she said in what she hoped was an amiable fashion "I was, but it's fine" her teeth almost grit but she managed a smile. Pausing What am I supposed to say again? She hid a frown. Oh right. Continuing on with an almost forced ease she said "What are you doing here?" And I came here thinking I might run across someone the black wolf thought with an internal laugh, her features were even on the surface, I suppose someone did literally run into me. While the other female might feel at ease all she felt was a vague sense of awkwardness which she hoped Saphira didn't detect. Why did I think this was a good idea again?

Saphira could tell the small fae was not at ease. Saphira had had no shortage of interactions with those she did not know. But she was confident in her ability to cause others to warm up to her. She would just have to try a little harder. The short answers of the black wolf did not give Saphira much to work with, but she had always been good at babbling to fill silence whenever needed.
For a moment, the arctic wolf wondered whether it was her rude interruption of the hunt that was causing the perceived awkwardness for the dark she-wolf, but she would try to smooth that. “I really am so sorry, Rassa,” she repeated with a somber expression on her face, showing that she took her offense seriously. “I meant no harm. It’s just that you’re so… small.” And she was. While not too awfully much shorter than Saphira, she seemed to have no weight at all. “Not that it’s your fault of course. I really should have looked where I was going. I just always have so much on my mind nowadays..”
Saphira paused, wondering if she should be quiet for a moment or keep talking about herself, but considering that the black wolf had not seemed eager to share about her own life, Saphira could easily share hers. “I was recently made a Virtue. It’s a lot of responsibility, but kind of fun. Valeria and I have been able to figure out our relationship a bit now, since she left when I was so young.”
What are you doing here?
It was a fair question in response, and Saphira smiled and said, “Oh, you know. Nothing much. Just out for a walk. I do that a lot. I can’t sit still for too long or I go stir crazy. I like keeping on the move.” She laughed a little at herself, wondering what the smaller fae thought of her. “So have you been here long? I’m sorry I haven’t run into you before. Well, not.. run into you. I’m sure we both could have done without that part.” She flashed a sheepish grin at Rassa, hoping for some kind of positive response.
Words: 366 Muse: good Tags: Rassa Notes: Thank you for understanding! Do you have any plans for these two or are they just getting to know each other a bit?
Rassa listened as the other she-wolf filled the air with chatter, she stored the information away impassively before she tensed. She didn't mind that she was small, it didn't change her abilities although she had to admit that in some situations it was hard to prove that to others. Valeria, Just what I need, but after glancing at Saphira decided that she shouldn't abandon the conversation quite yet. She knew little about the rank system within this pack, Seraphim instead of alpha - the normal language was enough for her but she supposed that she would have to cope, this was her life now. She glanced over the bi-colored eyes.
She's got the crazy part right she thought briefly at the femme's speech but at the apologetic grin offered a small smile as it seemed appropriate. From there she realized that Saphira was going to stop talking and that she would have to fill the almost oppressive silence. I make a horrible conversationalist. At least she had a starting point.
She guessed that the other female meant 'here' as in part of the pack but she hadn't been here in this land very long either. She supposed that she could answer both questions if it would fill the silence, even if she didn't mind it seemed as if Saphira liked to fill the space. Thinking over her words for only a second she got out "I haven't been part of Valyn for very long, I joined recently." pausing she wondered how to phrase the next part of her conversation. She didn't know where home was, she couldn't smell home, couldn't see it. So she settled for "I came from a place not here though recently as well."
She fixed her gaze on the build of the femme, she didn't appear to be much older than Rassa herself. And she didn't speak as if this language was foreign to her, possessing the same tongue as the other inhabitants she had met on this place. She was most likely born here but she decided that she could ask anyway "What about you?"
Maybe this female had lived her entire life in this land, maybe even her entire life in this pack. While the black femme would never admit to wanting a friend she couldn't dispute the usefulness of knowing the wolves in this pack. Valeria did tell me to go meet my packmates.

In order to do so, we will require your help! There is a monthly cost associated with this service, and any and all donations toward this goal are appreciated. Please use the PayPal link below for all donations for Anikira maintenance and moving costs. We look forward to a roleplaying environment where the sky is the limit!
Please note the donation page is listed under Uru's name as it cannot be listed otherwise without a business account. All funds associated with this PayPal account will be used directly for the maintenance and costs of Anikira, and hopefully soon anikira.com as our roleplaying forum.
This untraditional coupling is one of the truly loving matches in Anikira. Although they are members of two different species, Calantha and Rikez have overcome the differences and rose above, finding love in the most pure of ways. And from this pairing, a litter born of two loving parents was conceived. These little boys and girls will have the great honor of being raised by two parents that support each other, while many of the offspring in Anikira have not had such a benefit. The pair are truly fitting of one another; both kind-hearted and generally good individuals.
