Dust puffed from Tain's feet as she pranced along through the sand near the top of the volcano, a stupid grin on her face and her eyes flashing with pleasure. This was way more fun than walking. If she danced along hard enough, sometimes the ground would shake underpaw. And once she'd scared up a rabbit, although she hadn't caught it because it ran away too fast.
The gray she-wolf grinned up at the blue desert sky, her eyes following a wispy cloud for a moment..hey, it looked sort of like a bird..and it had a rainbow in it..kind of pretty..
Thud.
Tain picked herself up off the ground, looking over her shoulder. Oh, she'd tripped on a rock. Whoops. Next time she would have to look where she was going or something.
Alright..enough of that. Where was Lan? He was supposed to be running behind her..and Jay, too, maybe, although he might have stayed behind in Aldgar territory. After all, Xinelil wouldn't attack a pup so Jay had been perfectly safe.
Yellow eyes scanned the horizon for the white wolf and paused on..a cactus. Well, it was a pretty nice one. Spines, flowers, the whole shebang. Obviously it wouldn't be a substitute for Lan but Tain supposed it was better than nothing..
Nah. Cactuses, while green and/or prickly, were not very moveable. Tain leaves off looking at the spiny plant and instead stares off into the distance, looking for the wolf.
Hmm. He didn't seem to be standing there in the far-off-distance. Well, Tain would have to howl for him. She wasn't very concerned about the alpha finding her, since the alpha, Tain knew, was out to lunch (and breakfast, and supper, too.)
"LaaaaaaAAAAnnnnn!!!"
Simple enough. If every creature named 'Lan' on the island didn't respond to that, Tain would be very suprised.
The she-wolf flopped down in the dust to wait, panting slightly in the summer heat and flicking her ears to keep flies away. When Lan showed up they could go looking for all the Zananririr wolves and play their Good Trick. Tain couldn't wait for that. It was going to be the most fun she'd had in weeks! And it was ridiculously easy, too. All they had to do was pretend to be Alphas.
Or Betas, maybe.
Nah, Alphas. Betas were impressive, but Tain didn't want to pretend she was one of them. She didn't look very much like a beta anyway. More like a small loner wandering around making trouble, but Tain figured that nobody would be able to tell the difference between that and 'Wolf that has been made Alpha, temporarily.'
OOC: Complete, 470 words. Tain, Lan, maybe Jay, and open.
