The warm sun beating down on her offwhite pelt was the first thing Denali noticed as her golden eyes cracked open. The next thing she took not of was the extra warmth centered in the middle of her back. Raising her head, she blinked in the sunlight as her eyes tried to focus. She then glanced over her shoulder to see Sianna snuggled up next to her. A peaceful smile graced the Tundra fae's maw as she turned back to survey the area. For now, she'd let her friend sleep a little longer.
Letting out a yawn, Denali's eyes wandered over her choice of sleeping quarters for the night. The think brambles she had pushed through blocked most of her view of the plains. Her best bet was to scent and listen for any potential dangers, and her ears twitched as she took a deep breath. The sweet scents of the plains tickled her nose, though none of her senses picked up any immediate threats of danger. She did catch a light wiff of a small herd of deer, however...
Turning her attention back to Sianna, she nudged the younger femme with her nose. "Sianna..." Raising to her feet, she shook out her pet and settled her gaze on her companion. "Come on, wake up. You're still up for that hunt, aren't you?" Quietly and expectantly, she waited for any reply.
So warm and cozy, Sianna thought as her sweet dreams drifted on. She had no idea however that her head lay rested right on Denali. It must have been during the night when Sianna felt the harsh cold breeze, and in searching for warmth she laid down closer to her friend. Now as Denali spoke and in nudging Sianna the Timber fae drowsily woke up. It took her sight a few moments to settle down after the blinding light had seeped in. Once she gained her sight Sianna looked up at Denali and opening her maw let a long yawn out. Then Sianna licked her lips, smiled and stood up.
The she-wolf then shook out her pelt still keeping eye contact with Denali. "Yeah, " she sighed trying to think of her words, "I'm still up for a little hunting." Sianna then turned her ears in a direction from which many little hooves could be heard. She grinned at Denali and stalked out of the brambles keeping low to the plains ground. A few feet out they stood there, looking as delicious as ever. Sianna had to keep her maw shut or else a river of saliva would come pouring out.
Sianna then motioned with her tail signaling Denali to come out of the safety of the brambles. Once her friend had laid down by her side she spoke in a hushed tone. "Ok since we aren't in the greatest of shape, me mainly, we shouldn't try our luck but go for that small frail one just outside of the group." Sianna pointed with her maw over to one of the deer that lay a few feet away from the group. It did look very frail making it an easy catch for the two femmes.
Denali smiled at her friend and nodded, but remained standing where she was for a few minutes longer. She wasn't quite ready to leave the safety of the bushes yet, despite the hunger lurking in her stomach. She watched as the other femme fought her way through the brambles before finally deciding to follow herself. Shaking out her pelt once more, she then began to push her way through the thorny shrubbery.
As her nose poked through the brush, she caught the other's signal and exited fully. Her body was slightly scratched from the thorns, but not to baddly, and she crouched down low next to Sianna. Her eyes locked on the deer she had sensed not long before, and her head nodded again. "If not the little, sickly one, then maybe that old and plump one. How hungry are you?"
Her voice was kept hushed as she spoke, and her eyes never left the grazing animals upwind of them. Young and sick or fat and old, both seemed like decent choices. Neither deer was fit enough to escape the pair of them, especially with Denali's speed on their side. It was all a matter of how hungry the two of them were.
OoC: Meh, sucky. Sowry.

"Dope!" Sianna said as she focused her brown eyes on the old plump deer. This was such a hard choice and she had no idea what to choose. Both deers would do fine, but they couldn't kill two it was one or the other. Thinking quickly Sianna made up her mind and turned her gaze focusing on Denali. "We will go after the fat one, but if it ends up magically getting away we get the other one." Sianna waited for an answer from her friend and soon enough Denali gave her a slight nod of the head. Sianna nodded back then began to creep along the solid ground making no noise or sudden movements.
The two femmes would split up positioning themselves across from each other. This way when they both closed in the deer would only have one way to escape. Sianna kept her tail in between her legs making sure not to raise it. Her ears twitched from side to side picking up every single sound or vibration. Reaching her spot she laid down on her belly and glanced over at Denali telling her not to move just yet. Sianna inched forward a bit then stopped her eyes became full of surprise.
Sitting right in front of her were two plump rabbits. Siannas' maw opened wide and she cursed her own hunger. She looked at Denali with a confused look. She then looked back at the rabbits and growled. "Dang it." The rabbits hearing the growl squealed and ran into their borrow. Crap, Sianna thought as she saw the deers eyes go wide and in a sudden movement they all began to run. Sianna jumped up and looked at Denali. "Now!" she yelled and charged at the group.
With a nod of her head, the hunt began. As quietly as she could, Denali crept through the grass. The deer seemed to increase in size with every step she took, though Sianna's own form semmed to be growing smaller. The unspoken plan was to surround the plum doe as best they could, and therefore the two femmes had split up.
As she got into position, Denali glanced Sianna's way to wait for the signal. She didn't really mind that the younger wolf was the one calling the shots. The Tundra fae wasn't exactly used to telling others what to do. And, so far the Timber femme seemed to know what she was doing.
Motionlessly she lay hidden in the tall grass, hoping her white pelt wouldn't draw much attention from the prey. The deer were clueless. Well, they were until a quiet growl from Sianna's direction caught the femme's auds. Sparing a quick glance, the faint scent of rabbit hit her nose before Sianna shouted, Now!"
Like a race horse out of the starting gate, Denali began the chase. Her heart raced as her paws pounded against the hard earth, the sprint barely exhausting her. Her maw was slightly agape as she lightly panted, saliva causing her fangs to glisten. Those deer were quick alright, but even with their head start Denali was quicker. She was a well-conditioned runner, and when she wanted something bad enough it was almost as if she didn't even have to try.
She was slightly ahead of her friend, and it wasn't long before she was in nipping distance of the fat deer's heels. The old thing was significantly slower than the rest, though the sickly one was trailing even further behind. Still, they had decided on going for the one with more meat, and the Tundra fae wasn't planning on letting the deer get away.
In one swift leap she was sailing through the air, her target the neck of the doe. Her fangs sunk into the flesh, but her bite was too high to do much immediate damage. She hung on as best she could, being dragged along by the deer. Her added weight caused the thing to slow down, but without Sianna's help there was no hope for bringing it down. Hopefully the other fae could land a more fatal attack, or at least earn Denali a second chance at trying to slice through the jugular.

Sianna watched her friend speed past her. The Tundra fae was quick! In an instant Sianna watched how Denali lunged at the doe biting at it, but causing no real damage. Sianna knew if she wanted to eat she would need to help bring it down, but the frenzy of deer kept getting in her way.
Sianna then decided to circle around and ended up on the does other side. With Denali being dragged along Sianna began to nip at the does feet. The animal began to panic and ended turning in another direction taking Denali along with her. Sianna cursed herself then sped up trying to reach the doe once again.
This time using all of her strength Sianna reached the doe and jumped at it, luckily landing on its back. The doe fell in an instant and Sianna delivered the death blow to the doe's neck. Sianna laid on the dead thing panting and allowing saliva to drip down her maw. Her body seemed a bit shaky since after all this was the first hunt she had been on in a very long time. The blood from the does wound began to quench the Earth turning the grass a scarlet red.
Finally able to breath Sianna sat up and looked at Denali. Her eyes were full of wonder and happiness."That was one hell of a ride." she said laughing in between.
OOC: I'm so sorry again i don't know what's wrong with me, i feel so stupid
Denali hung on for dear life [no pun intended], refusing to release her grip on the doe's neck. It was very uncomfortable the way her body bounced and flopped against the side of the deer, claws scratching up it's side in an attempted to keep her hold. When she finally caught sight of Sianna from the corner of her eye, the white femme was rather greatful.
Sianna lept and Denali finally released her grip. She scampered out of the way of the falling doe as her friend's weight managed to bring it down. Before she had a chance to run up and aid in the final blow, Sianna's sharp teeth had hit the mark. After a little bleeding and a few final struggles to hang on to life, the doe lay limp in the grass. The red blood complimented the green grass as it pooled around the open wounds of the carcus, and the Tundra femme couldn't help but wag her tail as she padded closer.
"You could say that again," she chuckled breathlessly, lightly panting. Her jaws hurt a bit from holding on for so long. Still, they had succeeded in bringing down a rather plump mean. Just looking at the dead doe was enough to make the fae's mouth water. She circled it once before stopping and flashing a very contentented smile towards Sianna. "Shall we?" With that, she lowered her head and pulled a nice piece of meat from the carcus, selecting a spot near the meal that contained minimal blood as her choice of place to lay down and eat.
"We shall." Sianna panted as she lifted herself up and off of the doe. She watched as Denali took the first bite then waited until the femme was seated, and eating her share. Sianna then eyed the doe and decided to head for her thigh. Tearing a piece off she bounded over to Denali and sat across from her friend. The air felt cool against her blood stained maw as Sianna took a large bite. Sianna knew after eating she would have to wash up, or face the fact and look like a savage killer, which she wasn't. The meat was incredibly delicious, apart from she hadn't eaten a deer in over a month.
Lifting her head up with a small piece of meat hanging from her lips Sianna watched as her friend ate in silence. The world seemed peaceful again, and the sound of hooves faded off into the distance. Getting back up a few times to retrieve more meat Sianna had finally reached her limit. Small bones lay in front of her paws, and she blushed as a small burp came from within her maw. She licked her lips with her pink tongue and rolled over onto her back.
"That has got to be the best doe i have ever eaten in my entire life." she barks while kicking her legs into the sky. She then rolls back over, stands up, and shakes out her fur. Glancing over to Denali she wonders whether or not her friend is finished. She decides not to bug her and instead heads back over to the small stream that they had encountered the night before.
The white femme's pelt was flecked with little red droplets, but she didn't really care. There was an ample amout of meat to be had! It seemed like forever since she'd last tasted venison, never quite able to bring a deer down on her own. Her diet consisted of mainly small creatures that were fleet of foot and have very little meat to surrender. Sinking her fangs into the flesh of the doe was a real treat, and she wanted to savor every bite of it.
It appeared that she ate much slower than Sianna, for she had only taken about half the amount of trips back to the carcus as her friend had. A trail of small bones lead from their eating place back to the deer, a result of the various trips of both faes for seconds, thrids, and even fourth helpings of meat. The plump doe was delicious!
Averting her gaze to the Timber fae, Denali couldn't help but giggle. It appeared that Sianna was very content with the meal. Sparing a glance at the carcus, the two of them had in all honesty devoured at least half of it. "Definately worth the ride," she called out before rising. Lazily the Tunder femme strode back to the dead deer and pulled off a final piece of flesh. She was almost stuffed full, but there was just enough room in her stomach for one last piece. This she brought back to her spot and ate on her own while Sianna wandered off to wash up.
When finished, the femme rose and stretched out her back. She then shook out her pelt before heading after her friend. Pink tongue licked at the blood on her maw as she walked, sneaking out every so often from behind a very satisfied smile. Denali found Sianna at the stream the had stopped for a drink at earlier, and her tail wagged lightly as she began to try and work some of the blook out of her pelt with the aide of the water. "What should we do with the rest of the meat? Leave it for scavengers?" she questioned as she continued to bathe. At the moment she couldn't find a better solution, unless Sianna knew of someplace they could store the thing for a later date. Then again, why simply let the deer rot someplace when there was little chance of them returning for a while?
Done rinsing her face Sianna thought about Denalis question. It was a good one, but the only downside was that Sianna didn't have a good enough answer for it. After thinking for a while longer Sianna just gave up and tilted her head in Denalis direction. "I think we should just leave it. There's not much of it left since we devoured the whole thing, and I'm positive we wont be back for a while and i rather not eat rotting meat."
Turning away the Timber fae gave her legs a long stretch and spread her maw wide open letting out a long yawn. Shaking her head her brown eyes focused on the suns bright light. Her pelt finally looked healthy and clean. Meeting Denali was the best thing that could have ever happen to her, but now what? Sianna knew she couldn't be a loner for the rest of her life. She needed to find a new pack. The sooner the better, but she couldn't think of how to break the news.
Turning to Denali Sianna padded over to her friend and sat in front of her. Sianna knew she just had to give up and spit it out. She just hoped that Denali could move on with her. She couldn't bare to loose her friend along with losing her family."Den, do ... do you know of packs of wolves around here? If there are any at all?"
"Sounds fine to me," the femme replied with a nod of her head. She lingered in the small stream of water for a few more minutes before finally walking out of it. A shake of her form sent a bit of water flying from her pelt. She then let herself settle down in the grass, not really a mood for standing. A rear leg reached up to her floppy ear and scratched, and she enjoyed the feel of the warm afternoon sun on her damp fur.
"Den, do ... do you know of packs of wolves around here? If there are any at all?"
Curiously she turned her head in Sianna's direction as the question was asked. So the Timber femme wanted to join a pack. Denali could help with that. Unfortunately, that meant that once Sianna found her new home the Tundra fae would be left on her own again. She'd manage though. Denali always managed in the end.
"To the northwest of here is a pack known as the Salen," she began after a few moments of thought. "That pack is led by a brute named Exodus. I don't really think you'd like those lands though... They're kind of dark and gloomy." She paused, thinking again. Denali then continued, "The Salen pack is the only one I've actually had any contact with. I believe there are at least two other packs around though. I think to the west is a desert pack, and over in the east a pack supposedly inhabits the mountains. I could help you find a pack, if you'd like."
Denali gave Sianna a gentle smile. If her friend wanted to find a pack, so be it. She wasn't going to make herself unuseful and unwilling to help. She'd stick with the Timber female until a suitable home was found. Only then would Denali depart to follow her own path of life.
Sianna sat there completely shocked. Did Den just answer my question? Facing the Tundra femme Sianna almost believed that she had only heard the words in her head. She couldn't believe that her friend had said them. Yet for some reason a happy bark escaped her mouth and her brown eyes glowed with happiness. Den did know of wolf packs, but not only that she had offered to help Sianna find one.
"Den you are more than anything i could have ever asked for." Sianna then sat next to Den and allowed their pelts to touch in a sign of thankfulness and friendship. The Timber fae looked up to the sky and silently thanked her mother. She had told Sianna that Den would help, but how could she have believed her?
Thinking over what her friend had said Sianna began to think. Already the Salene pack was marked off out of her list, leaving the other two packs as options. Den described one of the packs as wolves who lived in the desert which of course allowed Sianna to mark that one off of her list. Now she was left with only one option.
Sianna opened her maw and said, "I think it is best if we go and search for that East pack. After what you said about the alpha and mentioning a desert i think that is the only one i would be willing to join." Sianna then wondered how she would be able to join the pack? Of course she had to find it and introduce herself but was there a special way of doing things or a place they had to go?
Looking into Dens yellow orbs Sianna asked, "So what exactly do we do?"
The Tundra fae was a little shocked by the sudden close contact. It was rare when someone ever bothered to get within snuggling distance of her. It was...nice, having Sianna so near. A bit of an embarressed smile wormed its way onto Denali's maw as she lingered in the warmth of the sort of relationship she hadn't had in a very long time. It would be so sad, having to eventually part ways with the Timber femme. It had seemed like such a long time since anyone had shown her true friendship.
Rising to her paws, Denali offered Sianna a truely genuine smile accompanied by a sharp nod of her head. "The eastern pack it is, then," she stated rather cheerily. "Follow me." The femme wasn't one hundred percent sure on how to go about requesting permission to join packs. She had heard rumors though, and she saw no harm in testing those rumors. She and Sianna were to seek out a rather barren portion of land, and hopefully upon arrival all their questions would be answered.
"I believe a part of land not far from here as been designated as a pack calling ground, or something like that," she began to answer her friend's question. "We go there, howl, and hopefully we'll receive a positive answer. If not, I guess we'll just have to seek out the pack ourselves." Denali sent Sianna a rather hopeful look as the walked. Hopefully this business of finding a pack would go smoothly. The last thing the Tundra femme wanted was to be on bad terms with anyone.
Sianna was happy to see Denali accept her close comfort. Although it was strange to the Tundra fae, Sianna just found it as a common thing to do. Growing up in the Tyron pack, Sianna learned to love, and treat others with kindness. Being Aplha kin she was raised to act that way and she didn't mind it. Of course she knew when the time came to be serious and leave her kind values, but Denali was her friend and so she would treat her with affection.
Rising to her legs Sianna listened as her friend continued to speak. So the choice had been made, and East was their direction. Sianna silently prayed that this pack was not hostile and upheld some of her customs. She knew joining the pack she would become an outcast, yet deep down inside she knew in her heart that she could handle the change. She was ready and kept believing that she could handle it, but the only downside was to part from Denali.
Sianna couldn't bring herself to the thought of leaving her friend. She would be terribly lonely without the fae. Sianna wished that she could change her mind, but Sianna knew in the end that it would be the Tundra to make her own choice.
Listening intently as Denali described what they should do, Sianna just nodded her head. A new excitement entered her body and she was ready to take off. Giving her maw a quick swipe of her tongue the Timber femme shook her head and smiled. Turning to Denali she sweetly said, "You lead the way boss."
