Venturing farther out beyond The Occasus Kaoru found himself in a grassy plain. Dropping the hare he had caught earlier, he smiled at the place. It was nice here and very beautiful however the desert was his home and where he felt the most comfortable. That would not change. ‘I grew up in hot climate…’ Was his thoughts as he lifted his muzzle in the air gingerly sniffing trying to pick up a scent of near by pray. ‘Why should I leave a climate I’m comfortable in?’ Although he admit going someone else for a while sounded nice. Like a vacation. ‘This place really is nice…’ His liquid brown orbs scanned the horizon taking in the sweet view and also looking for pray. Maybe he would come back here sometime just to hang out and be alone. ‘That would be nice, maybe I can take Ithy here sometime and Isolde I’m sure she’d like to take a break from alpha once in a while. Haha who knows maybe even granny would like to come too.’ He thought with a cheekish grin. He was not clueless he knew indeed Isolde liked him or was at lest attracted to him. ‘Suppose I ain’t that bad lookin’.’ He had to be handsome to attract a femora like that, unless she had poor eye sight.
Taking a whiff of the smell of fresh grass he sighed heavily it was so heavenly. Picking up his large ears he looked up and spotted a herd of deer near by. ‘Just my luck, perfect.’ He lowered himself to the ground and stalked closer to them, using the grass as his coverage. He was glad he blended in nicely he always loved having an earthy colored pelt it was very handy at times like these. ‘Little closer…’ He backed his ears flat on his head so they would not be noticeable to the deer. A good few feet away the young brute looked for a good victim to snag. Either a young one or a weak one. Far to his right he saw a weakly looking doe, she was not thin but very plump maybe too plump. Deciding that she was probably with child he decided to find another victim to seemed too cruel to take her out. Perking his ears up he stalked closer to the herd and he spotted a young buck trying to keep up with the rest. ‘Perfect.’ He thought, lowering himself to the ground he was old enough to have quiet a good amount of meat on his bones but young enough that he wasn’t strong enough to keep up with the rest of the herd. The perfect victim.
Pushing off with his back legs the brute dashed off at high speed the herd fled when they saw him coming and Kaoru’s eyes where locked on the young buck. Pushing off with his back legs again the earthy colored brute leaped out onto the bucks back. Sinking his teeth into it’s back side as expected the buck kicked it’s hooves at the brute and bucked up just as his name intended. Falling off Kaoru quickly got up out of the way as hooves came crashing down ready to crush Kaoru. This buck was going to put up a good fight before he let himself be taken down. Snapping his teeth at the buck’s back legs he needed to exhaust the hoofed creature before he could take it out. If it was tired it’d be easier to take out. The buck ran as Kaoru intended for it too and Kaoru chased after it steadily. He didn’t want to waste all his own energy or the hunt would all be in vein.
Panting Kaoru stopped and watched the buck as it galloped off a bit a ways away, tired it folded it’s legs and rested thinking Kaoru had given up the hunt. Smirking the brute gave himself time to cool and let his body return some energy before pushing off into a mad dash at the buck it was already too late by the time the buck stood up Kaoru was latched on tightly to it’s thigh the deer fell over due to it’s lose of balance and swiftly Kaoru dug his canines into it’s neck and crushed it’s major artery and the deer became limp. ‘Forty five seconds before releasing…’ He thought closing his eyes and counting down forty five seconds before letting go of the young buck’s neck. It was what he had been told when he was younger to make sure pray was dead. Smirking to himself the earthy colored brute grabbed the bucks hind leg and dragged him back to where he started, picking up the hare on the way and headed back toward The Occasus.
