Earth colored paws tapped the soft sands lightly as Kaoru trotted along. It was raining lightly and the sand was slightly wet. Good for more traction, best for hunting. Because the sand was wet it made it more soild instead of it's normally soft sand that would skin under your paws, while wet it did not do this as much anyways. Liquid brown orbs scanned the horizen for any signs of life, he refused to catch snakes so hares and other forign animals would have to be caught instead. Even if snakes could be easier to catch he just wouldn't do it.
Putting his nose to the ground the brute sniffed, taking in the fresh and most beautiful scent there was. Desert rain. No smell could ever in a million years beat that smell it was the most heavenly and homey smell alive. It was so refreshing, calm and cooling. However he didn't come here just to enjoy the refreshing smell of the desert rain he came here to find some food.
Nose catching wiff of a hare near by, his liquid orbs flickered as they darted around the desert's landscape his ears large erected forward and there it was a small brown hare in the sand not to far away sniffing at the ground. Most likely enjoying the smell of the desert's rain too, sadly the little hare did not know it would be it's last time smelling it. With a burst of speed the Ethiopian Wolf kicked off with his thin back legs leaving deep paw prints in the sand as he dashed toward the hare. More than half way toward the hare already it was too late when the hare realized Kaoru was there, darting off with it's huge back legs the hare did not get very far until Kaoru was able to catch up with it and snatched it right off the ground and snapped it's spine instantly killing it.
Dropping the dead limp hare into the sand Kaoru sighed softly. "Only a dozen more to catch..." He thought filling hungry wolf bellies was not easy specially since the prey was so little. 'Maybe I should go out of lands to catch some food...' He thought flicking his large ears forward listening for any more sounds. He could remember being teased about his large ears when he was younger but he was glad he had them, his hearing was a lot better than some wolves and they helpped regulate cool air throughout his body, it worked similar to hares and their long ears. Picking the hare back up in his jaws the multi-colored brute trotted off to another land to hunt.
