Tired eyes opened slowly, only to shut tight again against the blazing sun. She was in a cave, not sure which one, but it gave shelter, and at the moment, that was all the tiny pup wanted. She could smell her adopted mother not far off, somewhere outside of the entrance, hunting, most likely. Rehd lifted her small body onto all four legs, and padded, wobbling slightly through sleepiness, towards the caves opening.
"Rehd?" She heard her carers soft call from outside. "Rehd?!" It came again, but this time more alert, it sounded as though she was panicking about something. "Rehd!" Her adopted mother was yelling now, in fright. Something was out there, something scary. It was going to get her mum, she had to stop it! She couldn't lose her mum! Not again!
But for some reason, she couldn't get any further. What was happening?! It felt as though something was blocking her way. Stopping her from helping her mother. 'What am i doing, i have to help her! Why am i stopping?! Carry on going!' She yelled at herself silently, trying her best to break through the transparent barrier that was blocking her.
And then the scene changed. Instead, she was surrounded by darkness. And she was falling. Falling from great hight. Getting faster and faster as gravity pulled her down. She was going to die. She was going to fall to her death. But something was wrong. Their wasn't any bottom to this black hole. She couldn't slow down. She just kept getting faster and faster, not showing any signs of slowing. She was going to keep falling until she died. She was falling through eternity. She was going to hell. That was what was happening. She was being punished for not being able to help her mother. God was sending her to hell.
Then she hit the ground, and everything went even more dark.

The Fae woke with a start, breathing heavily. It was just a dream. She wasn't going to hell. She was still alive. She wasn't falling anymore. Rehd looked around, slightly dazed. It took her a moment to realize where she was. She wasn't a pup anymore. She was a fully grown adult, almost. It had just been a dream. Her mind had taken parts of her past, and put them into her nightmare. She was in the same place, the cave she had fallen asleep in yesterday night. The cave she had been sleeping in for a while now.
Rising onto all fours, Rehd padded out of the cave. Their was no barrier to stop her, as their had been in her dream. Instead she was hit with the light of morning. The sun was blazing over the Sea, which her rocky home was not far from. Her paws left prints as she walked to wards the water, her throat dry. As she reached the sea, her paws splashed when paddling in the water. The she-wolfs fur glinted with red in the bright sun, sending ripples down her back.
Lowering her head, she lapped up some of the cold liquid, only to wince, and lifted her maw quickly. That was a big mistake. She pulled a face as the salty water covered her tongue, and she swallowed unwillingly. It was disgusting. The one thing she hated the taste of, over all other, was sea water. Salty sea water. It made her want to throw up behind a bush, she hated it that much. Which proved a great problem when traveling. As most water found, is salty, and connected the Sea. She rubbed her muzzle with her paw, trying to rid her fur of the water, and then padded out of the water. The pads of her paws now dripping wet, with sand collecting on them.
