"Blegh... I fucking HATE water! Get me the hell out of here..." Phantom sputtered, coughing as he stumbled onto the beach and spat water into the sand ill-temperedly. The former Knaves member had never really been fond of the ocean- not only did the water have a despicable taste of salt water, but the fact that he'd been surprised and soaked by a wave for the second time that day was currently serving to severely piss him off. "What're you looking at?" Phantom snarled at a seagull that was perched on a nearby rock, which squawked in terror at having a wolf speak to it and flew off, screeching loudly as it circled above the pristine ocean. Smirking, the Grey brute slowly approached the rock that the bird had been perched upon and sat on it, staring out across the sea with a deep scowl firmly fixed upon his kissers. Today had been a pretty crappy day so far. What with his leg acting up, he hadn't been able to catch the young buck that he had been after, and what was more, he was still puzzled as to why he hadn't been able to kill the old brute that he had come into contact with a little less than a week ago. What was it about the elder that had made him so hard to kill?
Almost as soon as he had thought this, a black fin broke through the waves, circling in a slow half-beat as it did so. A great white shark was hovering close to shore, apparently looking for a potential meal. "Why, hello there, my fine predator of the deep. What brings you to my hunting grounds today?" Phantom spoke to the shark, an insane grin in place of the scowl as he cocked an ear at the marine predator. "What's that you say? Oh, you are looking for a potential meal? Well, so was I, my friend, but mine managed to escape from me... would you like for me to catch you a seagull or two? They are quite annoying little creatures, aren't they?" Yes, it may have seemed a bit odd for Phantom to be talking to a creature that could kill him very easily if it was in the mood to do so, but then again, Phantom was no sane wolf. Lashing out at a seagull that had managed to hover a bit too low for its own good, he caught the annoying creature firmly by the foot, trying to block its screeches of panic from his eardrums. With a mighty heave, he cast the pathetic bird into the ocean, and watched with a wide smirk on his face as the shark went at the food greedily, lashing at the water with its tail as a boil of sea spray lurched up to the surface, turning the water a bright crimson as the seagull floundered about desperately, trying to escape from the shark's grasp.
It was all in vain, however, for a moment after it began it had all ended, the shark swimming out to sea once more like a silent shadow. Smirking, Phantom nodded to himself before turning down the beach and trotting off in the direction that he had come from. However, a rustle in the bushes quickly told him that he wasn't exactly as alone as he'd previously thought. Whipping around, Phantom cast a murderous glare into the bushes, speaking out as he did so. "All right then... since you're making enough noise to scare a deaf hedgehog away, you might as well show yourself. After all, hiding from me would be a very bad idea, you see..." the male spoke, saliva dripping from between his clenched teeth as he waited patiently for the being to show itself.
