Jay wandered across the Aldgar territory, his paws leaving light impressions in the earth beneath him. It had probably been close to a week since Alearia had wandered off, and he was starting to feel the emptiness that came with her absence. "Damn bird pissed me off, but it's like a piece of me is missing," he muttered to himself. Why was it that she had quickly become such a huge part of his life? Everything had happened so quick lately, and her disappearance was yet another road block in his road to recovery.
It was true, the youngster had still not overcome the loss of Xinelil. Jay had never been a part of a pack before Xin, and his death, what Kadhi had described as him simply giving up on the pack, was something that Jay was not quite willing to come to terms with. If there were some way to prove otherwise, he would be a happy wolf once more. But how was he to do that without being able to speak with Xinelil himself about the situation? And he's dead. That's a minor speed bump. He growled softly. He hoped to soon come across what was left of the Aldgar wolves. It seemed as if much of the pack had gone their own ways over time, but Jay could not bring himself to leave the Oriens. It was his first true home, and he was not ready to walk away from it.
Jay's ears perked up briefly. The soft tinkling of the water from Nyspoli's Pool was both tense and calming. He was pleased to feel the comfort of the location, the first place he had met his deceased alpha. He had been playing with Tain and Lan; what a young wolf he had been. A lazy smile rolled across his face, remembering how they had been caught, how he had not had permission to be on the lands, but still remained with the pack. Xinelil and Denali had taught him to hunt, and now he stood here, nearly self-sufficient, but still broken on the inside. There was so much hurt and confusion inside him right now that he could not quite sort it out. Maybe some of the others would show up, and he would be able to figure this out.
"Where are the others? Where's Meikou, Alearia, anyone?" Jay called out. This was driving him crazy. The silence, the solitude. He felt so alone, and all he wanted was some companionship right now. It was just so, so quiet...
